  1. One thing I forgot to mention is that if his T1 line is his and his only, it's very reliable and steady (even with lower Mbps compared to cable networks); however, if it's a shared T1, the bandwidth will suffer and then some... may as well host it via modem! :smilewink:
  2. A T1 in itself is not any guarantee nor that fast. 1.54Mbps... Having your box on a Tier 1 connection is key! Read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tier_1_network However, if you could have a T3 at home, different story! Let us know what you guys come up with. :)
  3. You are both right! Lock-On doos not have dedicated server software. ...that means you have to rent a box and host the game via remote desktop. We (the Virtual Thunderbirds) host our dedicated box on Tier 1 connection from VSK Gaming Servers. While it would be a lot nicer to have true dedicated software, this workaround and having your own system makes for a very stable and fast connection to host multiplayer games. Unfortunately, renting a box costs more than game hosting, since you "own" the entire machine. Good Luck!
  4. Copy it to the scripts folder under your Vegas directory, then go to the tools menu and click on "scripting..." You will have to refresh the scripting list for it to pop up. Once the VegasQuake icon shows up in the list, to use, select a section of a clip by marking it and click on the icon afterwards. You can set the parameters for VegasQuake to use within the marked area you selected in the window that appears. Wolfie, you'd think I would have known, but the newlly released trailer is only my second ever Vegas project, so I'm still a rookie, hehe! Thanks for sharing the tip though. Definitely a great tool for combat flicks and close/low flyby's!
  5. Got it! I just thought it would be funny to try, but I understand that those internet translators mess up the gramatics and can be quite the pain to read! Sorry... :pain: The movie is coming November 23. In the mean time, anyone can sign up for our prize giveaway of a Cougar. Enjoy the trailer! Lawndart
  6. Oops! :chair: I'll fix it! Well, the movie is done, but you're just gonna have to wait until November 23. :geek: ... unless, you join us in Vegas. LOL!

  8. Nice. I didn't know about this. I've always handmade my "camera man" movments with pan/crop.
  9. Thanks to everyone who's commented (here and other places) thus far. We really appreciate it. Keep 'em coming! Regardless of what you think...:pilotfly: The giveaway certainly spurred some interest in the community thus far and I'm sure we'll be looking into future contests (of various kind) after November, next year sometime and potentially offer some type of discount as well??
  10. Would you like me to change the handle and spelling to the same as here and remove your inactive account? It can be done in a split second...
  11. For some reason your email keeps bouncing, even when I emailed you back several times... Your account is activated, just use the ID and PW you originally signed up with. If you still have problems, let us know. Yeah, our site is getting taxed a little more than usual at the moment... :smilewink:
  12. Luckily enough Fraps, since the rig I've used has allowed a fairly quick capture. The Frap output is 1152x864 (was the highest possible until the recent release of Fraps 2.8.0 which permits higher capt. res with dual core).
  13. The Mpbs and format is yet TBD, but if we render and compress the WMV HD 3Mbit version we're looking at roughly 1Gb! We may lower the bitrate, but keep the res and HD widescreen high for the internet version and thereby lower the file size. Keeping the resolution while giving up picture clarity and data or vice versa. It's really a catch-22... The theatrical release is far bigger in file size! :smilewink:
  14. Download the Smoke On trailer NOW! (1 minute, 22.6MB, 1440x1080p, WMV HD) Full length (50 minute) movie: "Smoke On" coming, November 23. ...but there's more! After you watch, go to this link to read the entire NOVEMBER ANNOUNCEMENT and participate in our free prize GIVEAWAY made possible by Thrustmaster!

  16. Awesome!!! Love the attention to detail and creative work. LOL! Anyone with inside info want to endulge us more specifically what the Machinima Festival and Mackie awards are? http://festival.machinima.org/mackies.html
  17. Being a formation flying guru I find myself "driving a sight picture" by lining up my left rear view mirror with the passenger side mirror on a car to my right and "holding that picture" through turns, stops, starts and gradually trying to tighten up to no more than 18 inches and no relative movement what-so-ever. If that's not enough, practicing "Slot" in the car is always fun... until the cops pull you over for tailgating! ;)
  18. Below we present you with some screenies from a High Show sortie the team flew on the 15th of September, 2006. It was our first full-on High Show with collision "HOT" for quite some time and the team performed the entire show without a single mishap, totaling 38 maneuvers within 45 minutes and 20 seconds from wheels up until wheels down. Although the team played it "safe", not flying as close together as we have in the past (collisions "COLD"), safe is a relative term... the team flew only 3 ft apart and performed a very solid show from start to finish. We feel the look and smoothness yielded results eerily similar to the current Thunderbird team and the way they look. Here are a few glimpses all taken from last nights sortie! For more screenshots from this particular sortie visit this thread: http://www.virtualthunderbirds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8277&sid=b41cb9cb34f47584b8410833f44b86e6#8277 For more check our image gallery @ http://gallery.virtualthunderbirds.com Diamond PIR (Pass in Review) Diamond Roll Arrowhead Loop Calypso Pass Trail-Diamond Clover Loop Opposing 4-Point Roll Trail-Diamond Roll Hi-Lo Hit (Diamond 210 knots, Thunderbird No. 6 @ .94 mach) Reflection Pass Delta Pitch
  19. How do you turn the multiplayer chat (ctrl-M) completely off? lua?
  20. Good thought, but this is not the way it works. The model swap we've been using and currently are using does not inherit the collision model from its ancestor. For instance, our F-16's do not collide when the F-15 would have collided. Most of the formations we fly are so tight that if we play back a track without our mod (model swap of F-16 over the F-15), the F-15's end up flying INSIDE each other since the Viper is so much smaller. The big furball only occurs when the Viper clips wings, not when an "invisible" F-15 collision model registers a collision. Good thought, but not the way the damage model is inherited with a model swap...
  21. Nvidia 7800GTs here, no shaders...
  22. Woodstock, thanks for your help! Nice to see more resources out there. Does anyone have a real Eagle checklist? How about the Hog? Red Dog's for the Russian a/c are very nice, but it still says "coming soon" on the American a/c and that's been the case for a year... http://users.skynet.be/bs999158/LomacDownload.htm It would be nice to have a complete set for all flyables in LOMAC! ;)
  23. Not saying this could work, but I noticed no difference in FPS on my rig... The only noticable difference I noted was the lack of shading and lighting fx on the exterior models. The F-15 skin had no lighting applied to it at all after trying this and when I reverted back, everything was fine. Hmm... Maybe this works better for low-end systems as far as the framerates go? Another tip: Two programs that help increase puter performance are GameBoost (internet connectivity) and GameGain (fps). Trial versions can be found here: http://www.pgware.com/products/
  24. Haha! Are you talking about the skinning or the limitations? You can make any plane flyable, but it will have a Russian pit by default. Since the F-15 is bigger, if you want the Viper skin and an Eagle pit, the wheels will sit higher (float). Anyway you look at it you will have to make a compromise, so get used to that idea!
