  1. Took off and landed without a hitch on the field. Unfortunately I pulled a "Devotion" into the sea trying to take off (no trainer?!) and took out about 7 Corsairs on the deck trying to land during carrier ops. Been here 3 hours already and feels like I just jumped in the seat! Today is a good day.
  2. Same thing happened to me yesterday after the update so I decided to try (link cable-less) Virtual Desktop, and I'm glad I did! So much easier to start up DCS in VR and the graphics are WAY better on the basic DCS VR settings than they ever were after making all the tweaks after literally years of watching YouTube videos on how to get the "perfect" setting in about 6 different apps! Haven't felt so good about VR in DCS in probably a year! Highly recommend!
  3. Great points QCumber, and thanks for the recs. I'll check out the chatroom or discord next time I'm on. Also, acronym overload here...do you have an acronym list somewhere? lol
  4. Great thread! Thanks! I have a very similar rig (4080,64, etc.), and I've been tweaking for a couple years now. However, I've been starting maxed out and then lowering settings from there. My question is: Is there a priority ranking of what is more important? I understand that the hover feature in DCS describes the setting and how big of a performance hit it has on the game, but should one start with, say, "Heat Blur" first, then if things are still choppy, move to "mirrors", then..., etc.? Would be nice if there was a ranked list of tweaks, and then one just stops when they are satisfied with the performance/quality mix. I'm no guru, so this person wouldn't be me, but there are SO MANY people asking for the same "best" Quest 3 DCS settings...seems like that list would get a ton of play.
  5. Confident ED will update us when they have the information. Thanks for the communication. We'll get there. In the mean time, go outside and spend time with your friends and family, lol
  6. @escanerI do, but have yet to be able to make it work better than my "recce event mark" hat on my Winwing F-18 stick...which works really well actually! Looking forward to that patch though.
  7. I'd like to echo @escaner's request to enable Jester to be 100% functional only with VoiceAttack. Absolutely AMAZING module otherwise! Thank you!
  8. Dear Hornet/Tomcat, I'm sorry, but I've met someone else. She's strong and beautiful, and just a bit more mature, with so much more world experience than anyone I've ever met...and those curves...just...wow! I'm sorry. Maybe we can get together from time to time and do something fun. I hope you understand. You've been great, and taught me everything I know, but it's now time to move on. I wish you the best! With love, AeroGrappler
  9. I'm a total knuckle-dragger, so I have no frame of reference about the work you all are trying to accomplish. Not an enviable task, and we are extremely grateful. Pretty excited about this one! That said, it sounds like the above is foreshadowing a significant delay of the proposed update tomorrow? Any idea how long?
  10. Greetings! Looking for a good and established squadron to fly with. Been a part of a couple, but both have had leadership dedication issues unfortunately, and are now defunct. Been flying for about a year, almost exclusively in the Hornet, but have dabbled in the Tomcat. Really looking forward to the F-4 (bought it when they first offered it), and will probably get the Harrier before too long. I'm open to fly whatever you all would need me to, and I have all the maps. Thanks for your consideration, "Donut"
  11. The Corsair looks cooler, and was flown by Marines, so it's the better aircraft. Undebatable due to these objective facts.
  12. Well, fired her up this morning with the same lights on (all), but decided to wipe my lenses off real quick and it decided to work perfectly. I don't know. Thanks for the help gents!
  13. Anyway, I'm out of time and I have to go adult now. I'll check back when I can. Thanks again for the help.
  14. I'd sent a short recording but I literally only have a computer to fly in DCS and MSFS, so my noob @$$ would have to figure out how to do that, too lol BTW, VR works perfectly in MSFS Very strange. Camera View? Not sure what that is. But yeah, works fine literally everywhere else but in the cockpit. I'm thinking it's some simple setting that I'm missing.
  15. I boot up in the cockpit and look left, entire front-facing view looks left. Doesn't matter which direction I turn my head, the forward-facing view of the cockpit follows my head movement. Not the case in the hanger or menu before booting into a mission. Move my head left, and I look left, as it should work.
