  1. I was ent an app that reset my Whart Hog settings and I also file a chunk off the plastic detent in the throttle stick base. After a few ins and outs I now have a nice smooth detent without having to lift the throttle stick as it glides over the "Cam" now and identifies "Burner" and also marries up with the visual red ring etc coming from the thrust tubes. All done now SOLVED David
  2. Problem solved David
  3. So I have no idea why on my machine it did this but I have now transferred the control to elev trim and it works well. Problem solved ( if indeed there was actually a problem!) David
  4. Hi, yes I would like to buy this please. How do we do this here as I am new to this forum and dont particularly want to blast too many details over the airwaves Thank you David
  5. Hi, I currently have a longer extension but it's threaded both ends. Is this both ends please? David
  6. Hi and thank you for confirming it. Then I have no idea how the control was obtained as it has worked for months now since I started but lets move on from here as I know the true meaning of these controls and will read your recommendation "Stick and Rudder" as it may improve my model flying as well. Thank you and thats solved it. David I am not sure who puts SOLVED in the post here but maybe you can advise as well as where and how can I attach my rigs spec at the bottom of my posts perhaps
  7. Its listed AOA up AOA down and it says UFC panel or something ( am not at the computer right now .. All but axis commands David
  8. Hey Thank you for the reply . The strange thing is it did move the elev trim it seems as this is one way to change AOA relative to throttle position. Must have been some interaction now disappeared by the latest update . So at least I can forget this and get on with flying in the new format Thanks David Its listed AOA up AOA down and it says UFC panel or something ( am not at the computer right now .. All but axis commands David
  9. Yes I have spoken at length to my ISP ZEN Internet and they were very helpful and in testing proved they can do nothing to help. The speed in the screenshot is always available to my house and my I Mac in the office but even though I am cabled to the wall connection it's as described above. DCS have given me a test of server connections to try and see where the squeeze is on its way to me but I have yet to sort out the connections required to do it . My basic question was aimed at UK standard fibre users if they had the same or even glass ( not available until later in the year except with one provider who I dont want ) but if the problems outside its not going to be solvable with glass anyway ? Thank you David
  10. Hi am am a Newbie but with the help here and with others marching on pretty well but I have yet another ? I DO UNDERSTAND the principals of AOA ( I fly model jets and have done so for years ) but in my naivety when I saw an instruction in controls for "AOA up" and "AOA down" I allocated a nice little roller button on top of my W/Hog F18 replica joystick. This enabled me the change the AOA on approach with ease and it worked for months up until the last patch, when it stopped working despite changing buttons / controls. The knob in the centre under the UFC is notated as brighter / dimmer of AOA symbology in "Chucks pages " but this moves with the above button commands although buttons changed the AOA. I have rectified this by using the original buttons as Elev/Trm and it works fine but there is a debate in my head and others have a view as well that these buttons dont change AOA as shown in the Controls page. Now since they dont work for me currently I cannot determine what is right so : 1 Do these buttons change the AOA and were they designed to do so ? 2 If not are they just for varying the brightness ? 3 If 2 is the answer why did they effect to AOA ? Thanks David
  11. SOLVED but dont know where to make it in the forum system page
  12. Hi, Thank you for your reply but I am not sure what you mean. It does download at this speed because when I have an update of any consequence it's about 2 hours and the full game is 5 1/2 hours so I go to bed in the meantime. This is annoying to say the least because in the event of an update I cannot join a Multiplayer server and if this is noticed at the last minute thats me out and go the way until the next day . I fly from UK with USA and Canadian friends so if I start at 11.30 pm it's their late afternoon . Thank you for the reply David
  13. Hi, Thank you for the replies but not sure what the last two have to do with my download speed ? However in reply to Slug head , Full glass fibre is not an option unless it's Virgin Media and I have issues with their customer service record. The problem is that if I am unable to achieve the proven speed at my house entry @ 70 mbps and I get 9.8 max when downloading anything from DCS ( Which takes hours for an update incidentally) the problem must lie between my house and the DCS servers and the house in UK. Thats why I am interested to know if any other UK users of DCS have a similar problem. Changing to glass ( 1 GIG here on offer with Virgin) would be great but even if I did how does it solve my problem. I Have discussed this at length with my I.S.P. and they cannot do more as they are providing the max service available here in my area. The speed test was on my Mac which as the PC is hard wired without any wi fi stuff involved .
  14. Hi I have discovered the answer it seems. Use the decimal seconds GPS location version in the map (Ok) then using data menu button box PRECISE ( okay) DONT go to the A/C menu button and change the units to dec secs as this it seems is what make the distance hundreds of mile away. I am not sure it makes sense as to why to my small brain as you look as if you are doing the right thing but you are not it seems David
  15. I have a solution from "Corsair" bot . Attach your Stream deck to the PC direct and the keyboard to the new (Even high end hub ) and it all works. Power issue basically Did
  16. Hi, Have no use for my Go flight panels anymore and need to move on They are fixed at present to a canted board but obviously can be removed for shipping if needed. £380 for all in photo ( not far short of the cost of the 737 control panel on its own Sold as a job lot not separately
  17. Hi, Newbie here and probably with a stupid question BUT My existing keyboard has given issues on triggering F7 for a while and I decided to buy a new keyboard. I have a Coursair 42 " screen and its amazing so I bought a Coursair keyboard with a view to fixing my F7 problem and having a gentle glow around the F key row for ease of idenfication in my dark cellar setup. This thing took over my system with the downloading of iCue software. It nullified my Streamdeck XL and showed a joined up image of the keyboard and Streamdeck panel overlapped and went into a whole learning process about interaction of the two and the amazing things that could be done. I did not buy it for that but what about just a normal keyboard and a functioning F7 key for idiots like me. Then go on after to maybe delve into the depths of learning about an interactive keyboard. Please can anyone help with some simple settings to do what I originally bought it for. I spent three hours unpicking the disruption of sound and re setting Streamdeck and listening to a really savvy tech guy speaking too quickly for my tired brain. Thanks David
  18. Hi. I am in the Uk and have been trying to sort out why with an external possibility of 28 mg ps available I only get 9.8 mb Max and have done so since I joined this great community. DCShave been helpful and given me a test string to try but I understand the feed comes from Switzerland and passes a few severs along the way but it never varies 9.6 mb max and this Update today is 2 hours plus. Does anyone else have this issue here in UK or in Europe ? David
  19. Hi that was quick reply and thank you for it. The trouble is I am not sure where to look for a solution as I am not sure how Track Ir has an effect on this aspect of the setup but I am happy to be guided tp solve it. I will try and put a small track online here to demonstrate my issue . It will be just on the ground as I am not sure what you or how one edits the tracks and it could be longer if one gained altitude etc etc. It can be clearly seen relative to the cockpit frame position and the edge of the left hand cockpit . David
  20. I AM STILL WRESTLING WITH THIS ! I cannot believe that this is what is intended and surely others find it annoying to look out of the corner of your eye with such a sophisticated piece of equipment for a Target ! David
  21. I am afraid the problem remains and whilst it is useable it's not ideal. I have tried the VR setting to move the view to left or right eye but it's still offset to the left. It would be so much better to have the reticule cantered to your centre of vision rather than the gymnastics that one currently has to do. I am sure the real pilot does not have this problem. However I dont want to moan about what is a fantastic representation of this wonderful plane especially at the reasonable price for one days parking in central London Uk !! David
  22. I would like to thank you for such an helpful and concise reply. I have now had a chance to put this to the test and as you well know it is the solution to my problem. As far as I can see (But these things are easy to miss with a 743 page guide from CHUCK !) because this has consumed about three weeks of my learning curve trying to get this sorted. So I hope others have access to this info and thanks again David
  23. Hi, I am a newbie but learning fast with your help. USING "THE WAY" not the DCS version and it would be nice if that worked in all formats not just multiplayer ! I need to clear up one question : Sometimes my waypoints are massive distances away from where they should be. I will describe my procedure and need to know if this is wrong or do I have a bug. Example program "Slammer". I enlarge map to the biggest it will get and with Dec secs set in the GPS panel I import 4 points from the map into "The way". I then go to data in the HSI and set precise/ go to A/C and check bottom right hand button for dec/secs as well. Set mark point to 59 and then import data to the plane F18, using WPNDSG button. I have set TOO for all units and program each one using DISPLAY and MSN buttons and check each missile has a target point. Now sometimes I will get a target of 80 mile away which is about right and often I will get a 4435 miles or massive difference to the actual distance when measured with the ruler of grid square counting. Does anyone else have this because if not it's ME that is doing something wrong here and I need help to know what that is please ? Thank you David SORRY I DID NOT REALISE THERE WAS A DEDICATED "WAY" THREAD
  24. Hi, Same Newbie with endless questions but learning fast ( I think !) Programming targets using The Way and zooming in as far as possible to save waypoint in Dec / secs and boxing precise and then checking A/C to ensure Dec secs again, I quite often get a target which is 4468 mile away !! I see this when I go to take off in the HUD and I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong here. Its not all the time just some times. I save the waypoints as Mark points then transfer them to each Slam in TOO mode on the ground. I have found its does not seem to me to be possible to transfer in this manner in PP mode. I may be wrong but thats my experience. Any suggestions welcome thank you David
  25. Hi, thank you for the reply. Say I am on a flight and using the hmd I designate a ground target for a Jdam with the hmd. the target designator tiraingl appears, the guide direction arrow all appears at it should. I release the first weapon and have 3 more left on the rails. my target is struck and I move to select another target with my had. There is no circular with central dot now in my hmd so I double click fast and twice UDT ( nose wheel str lever on my flight stick) . I expect this to release any info from previous target and go back to the circular reticule display. It does not always do this. It appears to get stuck with the old info. Sometime I go back to snowplough mode and do it that way but the same thing happens it does not un designate previous info. Why is the is my question. Thanks David
