  1. Just for data reference, flying low over a burning city in IL2 today, mild stutters and FPS at 65. Just a few seconds of it. GPU (5090) is around 95% useage most of the time (so 0.85 render is spot on), CPU (9800X3D) at 45% (proper heavy assets mission). So it's not 'just a DCS thing'.
  2. FWIW, I'm running the Super at 0.85 on the render slider with 9800X3D and 5090 (in IL2 however), as full 1.0 was at it's very edge of consistent smoothness. At 0.85 it's 100% good. In DCS, the 9800X3D and 5090 at 0.85, 2 vs 1 QM, gave equally good performance but I doubt it would have been as good with a fully loaded mission. Also, over both Mariannas maps, very little stutter on the deck looking left/right. Despite the common complaints about 'generational improvement', it's clear to me that for flight sims at least the 5090 is a significant improvement.
  3. If you use MB's QV, not the latest one.
  4. DMAS, no loss, they're rather crap. I run my sound through desktop speakers but for when I was recording video I used wireless headphones. They fit very nicely under the OG and ditto with the Super (and perfectly comfortable too).
  5. Hmm. I have a 46" monitor about a meter in front of me, with full-screen mirror and my Super has been tracking flawlessly so far.
  6. Sounds to me like they're not keeping an adequate stock of units ready to cover RMAs, despite the previous promises to rectify that shortcoming.
  7. I haz been monkeying with MSI Afterburner, using IL2 for testing. Long story short, using the performance settings in the video above I'm seeing over 100w less power required to run the exact same mission with the exact same performance (89-90fps, all smooth as silk, Super at 0.85 render).
  8. Aha. Same guy, 5090.
  9. Lol. The skin in the video is available in the skin's menu in settings. However, the 5090's curve looks completely different to the 4090's and I'm a lot leery of blowing my <profanity> up.
  10. That's a good tutorial but, unfortunately, MSI have completely changed the look of their app and make it impossible to correlate with the video. I was about to inflict it on my 5090. Oh well.
  11. Sounds like somebody outside is mowing their lawn. I figure my fans have to be working (perfectly silently) because I get zero fogging on the lenses. With the OG, at this time of year, that was a serious issue.
  12. I had a play with it, IL2 went really cock-eyed. Lol.
  13. None of the above. I do have what appears to be one dead pixel (it's that or a tiny grain of dust) and the screen-door effect against bright backgrounds that's like a very pale grey filter over the entire image. I'm wondering recently if that's what everyone calls muira/mura? I'm also assuming the very slight squiffiness I experience when I move my eyes off-center is the binocular overlap not being as good as the OG's. PeeDee, do you have astigmatism in that right eye? I have it in my left and have been thinking about playing with the offset stuff. How does it work?
  14. There is zero advantage to setting a low monitor resolution.
  15. Can't really make sense of that. Is the one you have on a disc or did you download it from their site? The current one is IL2 Battle of Stalingrad, with a whole bunch of DLCs that provide a lot of maps and planes (Moscow, Kuban, Normandy etc etc). They're all available on Steam too, though if you buy direct the devs get a lot more of the moolah.
  16. Check in Device Manager that your USB slots aren't turning themselves off (it's an oldie but worth checking). You have to go into the properties of each and I think it's the Power Management tab. Disable auto power down or something.
  17. I hadn't played DCS for a couple of months and after updating it I noticed it was looking very washed out in the OG Crystal. That improved a bit with the Super (all stock settings). IL2, on the other hand, superb levels in all regards.
  18. Thanks PD, that got it!
  19. Everything I've seen/read indicates the 265k is absolute crap for gaming.
  20. Appears to not be working. I typed DCS into the little search window (next to the drop-down where it says Common Settings), hit enter and nada. I can't figure out any alternative process for it.
  21. CPR is Central Priority Rendering (tick box in the Pimax PLay settings), but it appears it might be making IL2 crash.
  22. Tested the new play and firmware with IL2, Pimax CPR is a game changer. The previous quadviews in DCS were already perfect, though I tested only 2 vs 1 in QM. More stuff (missions) always spanks the CPU before the GPU suffers. The IPD in the Super is way more of a thing than in the OG. I was getting double vision with it set to where I had it in the OG but 67mm seems to have sorted it. No muira, though I can see a kind of shade of screendoor across the entire image. It has to be deliberately looked for though. No chromatic aberration, unlike the OG (it was slight). Physical fit, about as perfect as a headset could be (for me). I got lucky.
  23. I've not found any need for mine, got lucky with the fit this time around.
  24. I've done a handful of test flights in DCS with the Super on a 9800X3D and 5090, so far it's performed very well. The one and only issue has been a visual pause that it either overcomes or leads to a freeze and crash. IL2 has exhibited the same issue. Chief suspect: NVidia drivers.
