  1. To add: I even have a special folder in my missions section titled "Greb's Missinos". LOL.
  2. Yeah, detailed briefing gives you a MISSION and not a free flight objective. Usually such a mission entails tactics and a cohesive plan to accomplish said objective, of which I am a part. If I don't follow the brief and complete my tasks as assigned WITHIN the group, it may result in a mission failure. It is easy to drop a bomb and get home, but if you start getting into the realm of real missions, integration with other critical assets working in concert is the trick to real satisfaction. Just in my own humble opinion, and the way I approach it. I am loving your missions however, and it is cool to see your knowledge grow. I am sure and very much looking forward to the next evolution!
  3. The briefing and information pre-flight is just as critical as the mission in my book. Adds to the realism and thoroughness and get's me ready to take it seriously. Missing briefs and unlikely scenarios are just practice to me, and not a game face type mission.
  4. He overflew his target at 2:11.
  5. Greb, love your missions and you keep cranking them out, and this is a nice notch up in the complexity from what you say. I haven't played it yet, but I wanted to say... I like your enthusiasm and attitude!
  6. Fox News is running a story on the Chinese Stealth Bomber in a couple minutes.
  7. Yes, the trim hat is normally mapped to also change the views, assuming the player doesn't have Track IR.
  8. I want to add one other thing, from a mission planning perspective there was one sort of counterintuitive component. The location of IP Dodge being north of friendlies above the origin of the enemy units seems to not make sense and I was confused because it was not a waypoint and it felt "odd" circling above the enemy occupied territory instead of adjacent or to the south of friendlies.
  9. Okay, one good news, one bad. Turned down eye candy nearly all the way except medium draw distance. It crashed at the exact same spot as always, about one minute after Custer arrives. Also, the good news is that I was using realistic radios and used to JTAC being on FM and was using that mic switch instead of using the AM switch. My bad! I can confirm that the JTAC does a double read-back for each line after the datalink.
  10. Well, from that perspective, I would recommend you tone down the individual troops as unless you hit F7 and watch you don't see, which I hate doing F7. I didn't lose any framerate or anything so it is weird that it crashes without slowing down first.
  11. Ran your mission a couple of times. Enjoying the concept, very believable and entertaining thus far. Two issues in my experience. I was not able to finish due to a crash that happened twice, shortly after Custer is in position, perhaps less than a minute each time. To note, I was also trying to raise the JFAC at that time but not at any exact moment. I would check in but received no reply. Also, I was on 124 VHF AM. I looked in the editor and he seemed to be configured right.
  12. Are you forcing AA? Make sure it is application controlled only.
  13. I seen some videos of triple monitor goodness and I think I might be sold. I have a GTX 580 right now. I'm thinking of picking up another and running SLI with three monitors. What kind of frame rates can I expect with that setup, some people are saying SLI doesn't provide a performance boost. Anyone here with a similar setup care to speak up. I have 12 GB RAM and SSD RevoDrive, and AMD x6 Phenom 1100T @ 3.8Ghz per core. I currently get anywhere from 20 to 50 fps in flight.
  14. Those all try to get me to buy his book. Motive? Otherwise, decent vids I suppose but it wasn't educational or training in my opinion.
  15. Great tips, I needed them as well. Sloppy contacts here, will work on it with your techniques.
  16. Okay, I know I play too much when I start moving my head around trying to use Track IR during the youtube video. Edited to add: and when I am looking it looks where I want because we are thinking the same.
  17. I believe that you cannot hear other flights then. I could be wrong.
  18. jazjar, sometimes they are hard to find and yes, I find the FLIR contrast to be extremely lacking compared to reality. The tank platoons are generally when not moving in a line formation. They can be far apart, but they are generally going to be one to the left, and one to the right of the diamond mark as the JTAC is marking the middle one. When I can't find the last one because everything is nearly the same temperature then I order the wingman in to destroy armor at my SPI with Mavericks since he is a psychic eagle eye.
  19. This is funny. Popcorn popping.
  20. Why the hell would you "black out" the instruments. They look great at least let them see them.
  21. Question, in the files section there is Operation Pushback 1.0 and Operation Pushback 1.1. Are these the same version, just one updated, or is 1.1 Operation Pushback II?
  22. Got suspicious person first mission. Flew under 1500 feet in all directions around the grid for 10 minutes. Nothing changed. Quit mission, not sure what to do on that.
  23. I don't mind the steering bars. especially the vertical bar during an approach with no vis. When will the steering bars be there? They are usually not there when doing an ILS approach to Batumi, I just have the ADI caret. Will they automatically come out during inclement weather?
