Operation PushBack 1.0 is out

Ah copy that. Thanks a lot guys! -
Two questions. The steering bars work great on the ILS at Batumi in your mission. However, when I fly other missions and come in for a landing at Batumi on a regular day or night without inclement weather, there are no steering bars, only the notch on the left margin to indicate glide path. What decides when the steering bars are operable? Second question, runway is 13 at Batumi and that usually means I set the course to 130 on the HSI and it is always off a bit. Your 120 course was perfect, that means the runway bearing is off. How is one to know in flight on the way in what course to set if you can't rely on a good lineup from the runway number? How did you come up with 120, any way other than setting it on the ground to know for sure?

Enjoyed the mission. Very heavy lifting off, felt like the Spruce Moose. Also, was there supposed to be any feedback after killing your primaries?

Operation PushBack 1.0 is out

Very cool mission, but I keep having trouble with the ground crew at Batumi. They wont' rearm me or refuel. I know it's WIP but is there a picky spot you have to be at, I've tried a couple places on the ramp area. -
Just ran the tweaked version. Seems a piece of cake after the first version. I enjoyed both and gained a lot of confidence I didn't otherwise have. I recommend doing both versions! Thanks much.

Okay, wow. Bit of a white knuckle ride at the end considering the runway lights nearly never appeared. They came in so dim and dull they might not as well have even been there. I touched down before I could really truly identify an airstrip or the lights. But what a touchdown it was, perfect nearly. If you look at the lighting from the surrounding cities, it is visible from quite a ways out, but the airfield lighting which should be brighter and designed for visibility in such poor conditions doesn't show up at all! Well, at least I did it despite my confidence saying otherwise and have included the track for your pleasures and to see the airfield lighting, something must be wrong with it. I didn't use TACAN at all, just ILS on the way in. ILS Landing at Batumi.trk

Crack open the manual and look at the radios. On your left panel you will usually configure the VHF AM to be on a specific frequency for the allied flights, say for example 111.0 VHF AM. Once you tune the radio it will come in automatically as they report their activity. This only works if you are flying a mission with an active friendly force on your side. A good example of allied flight chatter is the first mission in the campaign Georgian Hammer.
-
Yes, you get to hear radio messages in game from various elements on your side, you just need to tune your radio. You should hear generated messages about units engaging targets, returning to base, reporting enemy contacts, out of munitions, etc... It will not be, however, ultra realistic background chatter for the sake of immersion.
-
You have to be on the same frequency as other flights or units doing their thing to hear other stuff going on. There are youtube videos of people flying who inserted real life radio chatter into the background, which may or may not have been what you watched. They just do that for cool effect in the video.

They exist to serve you. ;D

I found the way to fix the not responding (I think), is to taxi your plane a bit so the ground crew yells at you. Once you do that you can stop and request service again.
-
Okay, well I tried every combination possible at Batumi while flying Operation Pushback a mission released by COUGAR.
-
Beta 4 is very good in my opinion and is worth the purchase. By the time you get up to speed on learning the basics of the operation and ready to dive into the campaigns or full missions the game will probably be a release candidate.

Okay, in realistic comms, in order to communicate with ground crew I understand you have to drive to the ramp, park the A10C, rotate the knob on the comm panel clockwise until Int is vertical, push in the Int button, then push in the Hot Mic button. Then I should be able to go into the comm menu with F8 and select to refuel. I can't get this to work for the life of me. I have realistic comms on but I can't comm with the ground crew. I was able to do it fine with the easy comms using \ but this is not working. What is the trick or what am I doing wrong? :helpsmilie:

What you need to do to fix that Track IR issue is to go to the folders in Natural Point and browse to profiles, and after saving a custom profile, remove all the other profiles. That will fix it, you can just bump them to a folder you create for safe keeping.
-
I answered my own question. I seen someone else mention it so how I fixed it... I just clicked on a control category under a column for the joystick, went to load profile, browsed to ./Config/Input/Aircrafts/A-10C/joystick and pressed okay, it filled it in for me then I did the same to the throttle with the throttle profile.

My TM Warthog HOTAS control settings are cleared out in the control profile in game. I have to manually reset everything. I have not played with TARGET at all. Is there a quick way to restore this to defaults instead of trying to reconfig all buttons?
-
My track ir had the same prob. Went to device manager and had it find automatically for natural point. Works fine now.

Okay, Nickhawk. That is the first news that seems really positive! Glad the haze is gone and performance seems better!!!!

Quick question, looking at the download page I just see the 3 setup files and the setup exe. I have a slow connection and it would take almost a day to download the whole 4.46 Gb. To be sure, what do I need to download to just patch from beta 3 to beta 4 without doing the whole thing again?
-
So it's the 24th... how bout that beta 4? LOL
-
LOL, bravo good job mate.
