  1. No, it means the menu / editor and the 3D sim are now one program.
  2. Is this event open for non-VFS members as well? How does one maintain SOP, does that individual get briefed in advance on the 132rd SOPs? VERY impressive work, Neck! And awesome to see several squadrons working together.
  3. Public inquiry. What is your PC video card? Asus GTX780 DirectCU2 OC
  4. Again a great show. Keep up the work Dojo!
  5. Yes mine runs fine at FW20. Its just the upgrade to 23 that does not work.
  6. My throttle shows up as Firmware 0 after I place it in Bootloader mode as well. My installed firmware is 20 and the software refuses to upgrade to 23. I am in contact with TM support over this as well, but one thing I can confirm for you is that it showing Firmware 0 certainly doesn't *have* to mean your hardware died. The bulk drivers are dodgy and might cause this instead, so do not write your stick/throttle off before discussing thoroughly with TM support first!
  7. Profiles directory (HOTAS, TrackIR, TouchBuddy, VAC etc.) In sequence to my popular TrackIR profile for BMS (Found here!) I hereby post my DCS profile as well. The BMS profile is actually an edited version of my DCS profile which used to be for personal use. The BMS profile turned out to be very popular and requested often, so I decided to offer the DCS community the same. Perhaps it is of little use, perhaps its the best profile for you. Who knows? ;) You can get the profile here: Get the DCS profile here! Readme: Yassy's DCS TrackIR Profile ---------------------------------------------- v1.0 ---------------------------------------------- Hardware used: TrackIR 4 with TrackClip Pro ---------------------------------------------- Software version: 5.1.300 (Build 9945) ---------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION: ------------ Eventhough the standard profile of the TrackIR works OK in DCS, I did not like the direct control. It resulted in jittery view and when looking at cockpit panels I found it hard to keep the viewpoint steady. The principle for the profile revolves around having a stable view, with a deadzone around the center forward view, to make flying and fighting with the aircraft as smooth as possible without having to adjust view constantly, resulting in fighting the view AND the aircraft. I have strived to keep the deadzone as small as to keep the view steady, but prevent a 'sticky' feeling when trying to look around. Furthermore I have limited the movement in the Z-Axis to prevent jittering in the viewpoints. Instead, use the mousewheel (or zoom axis on your hotas if you have that mapped) to zoom in / out. The DCS profile works best when keeping precision mode ON all the time, although with increased hardware performance and higher framerates YMMV. INSTALLATION: ------------- Unzip the .XML file into your \NaturalPoint\TrackIR5\Profiles folder. (default C:\Program Files x86\NaturalPoint\TrackIR5\Profiles) -Start TrackIR software. -Set Speed to 1.5 -Set Smoothing to 40 -Set Precision Mode Smoothing to 200.0 (Camera Tab) -Then either: 1. Select Profiles tab, select Yassy_DCS as the profile and tick the 'Exclusive' tickmark. or 2. Select Titles tab and select Yassy_DCS for any title you want (A-10C, Black Shark, etc). -Enjoy! Feedback can be dropped at captainkraak at hotmail dot com or at the official Eagle Dynamics forums in this thread: I would love to hear from you! Yassy
  8. Welcome back! Glad you enjoy your new 'shiny'! ;)
  9. I don't find the inclusion of a dynamic campaign the be all and end all. A bigger map to fly on is a much more needed improvement if you ask me. But that's not to say I would not like a dynamic campaign! I would! It's the reason I still have my Falcon install on my harddrive. And while I won't say that dynamic campaign is perfect or without problems (it clearly is not), it is indeed fun! DCS with a dynamic campaign (in a different threatre of ops, mind you!) would be awesome, but again, it's not the sole thing I think cures the 'boredom' in an instant. We need more/other things first IMHO.
  10. You guys can also take that ego-powerstruggle to the Private Msg realm, you know and leave this thread for actual discussion of the mod itself. *shrug*
  11. I think many of the discussions and misconception in this thread is due to the language barrier. Please guys, do not take every word literally. And bashing on someone's grammar isn't very nice. A technical subject like this might prove to be quite hard to explain for non-native english speaking people. A sidenote:as far as I am concerned the constant mentioning of threatening to cease being friendly is uncalled for. Just explain stuff or don't. But leave the threats home, please. Fact is that PeterP has devoted quite some time toward making this mod and is going out of his way to explain stuff in-depth. Though his diplomatic writing skill leaves a bit to be desired for. ;) :D Again, language barrier is the real enemy here.
  12. I didn't answer your questions because I have ceased to use your mod, or fiddle with it. I was merely expressing my thanks. ;)
  13. It must be a pain for you to have to deal with the myriad of questions shot at you, Peter. ;) I am sorry. But from the follow up posts (especially that of Zaelu) I understand that we might be talking about the same thing, but just don't understand eachother. The screenshots posted above about having to lean forward to see the complete info in the HUD is what I call 'having an enlarged HUD'. I seem to understand that this is a normal way of the mod being installed and 'working as intended', however I just don't find it workable, unfortunately. Again, thanks for the explanation and your mod!
  14. I have taken ALL the steps in the readme. Two times to doublecheck. I did change the Snapviews in the Saved Games path. I have even repaired my DCS install and tried again with a fresh. It no worky for me. ;) Even with the default files, as soon as I change this UseDefaultSnapViews to False, my HUD gets enlarged. So something else might be borked. Or I am not a good modder. :D It's fine, though. I'll manage without. Thanks for the mod no less!
  15. I have the enlarged HUD as well. I have found that any alteration of the view scripts make the HUD go into inflated mode. Even with the standard stock files, just changing 'UseDefaultSnapViews = true' to 'false' will make the HUD go crazy. It seems like its an issue within DCS rather than a mod of any kind. Too bad as it does make the viewpoint mods unusable at this point.
  16. Looks cool! Well done! How does it work for you?
  17. Great stuff and thanks for making it available!
  18. I have a baby boy going on to 6 months now. The first 8 weeks were pretty tough getting into the new role as parents. You need to stick together there. Don't forget that your wife is experiencing all kinds of hormonal changes. She needs you during those first weeks/months. I did cease to fly during that period. After a month or three, things started to settle down regarding the emotional aspects of the birth, but of course 'regular life' and work started to become more prominent again. This took, yet again, some readjusting. Now, coming on to six months I am starting to have room again for simming. The baby requires less attention now (as does the wife ;) ). What we do is just plan. Mark a specific day in the week that you reserve for simming and make an agreement that at that time you can just have several hours of undisturbed sim time. Planning is paramount. And don't fret; you should go with the flow at first, man. DCS will wait. Your family needs you. And the beauty is that if you have been nothing but supportive in the first weeks, you will get that in return in spades if you cooperate well with your wife later on. At least that's my story. Congrats on becoming a dad! It's magnificent isn't it?! P.S. I don't get the people making a fuss about getting married because of the implied ties it causes, while at the same time having a baby is less of a problem. To me there is no greater commitment than a child. (not targeting someone specific, just a general addition)
  19. For being the creator of TARS, I think a lot of people will cut you a pretty decent amount of slack, Headspace. ;)
  20. Aww Snoopy, come on man, you guys break stuff on the jets too! :D And the reason us pilots sometimes write down stuff in the books that need fixin', while you can just make it dead and its reset, is because we take that thing up into the air, that kinda activates some different rules when something gets f&cked up, instead of being leisurely on firm ground. Lol! I guess that goes doubly for a combat bird! :D Peace Boss
  21. I don't even feel the plate, but that might be dependant on your butt and chair you're using. :p Buz, I tried a similar setup like you have, centre mounted on a tray, but I find the stick too high to be comfortable. Having my arms resting on my legs while flying is much more comfortable.
  22. I use the cheapest DIY option there is; I just place the unmodified stick with its metal plate on my seat and I just sit on top of the plate. It's steady as a rock and voila, centre mounted stick. :)
  23. VERY impressive pit! O_O With all that work you have put in, there is still one dissonant, though; no Thrustmaster Warthog?! Come on, you owe it to yourself to finish your pit with one! :)
  24. I am not really sure about this, but I assume the Hueys you talk about are AI controlled? If so, they are probably 'finding' that signal because it is scripted. It's doesn't have to mean the functionality is actually in place where you can use it in the Hog. But, as I said, I am not sure. :)
  25. You might try putting on flying gloves, bumfire. They might ease the pressure on your hands.
