Kaiza--yup, me too. I've got the radio dialed in right--and I'm talking about missions that clearly have JTAC's, with freq in mission briefing.
-
I used the advanced mission generator alot--and find sometimes when I try to checkin with JTAC, there are none available to check in with. I often edit a few waypoints before I fly--creating and IP, CP, and EGRESS point. Is there a certain range for the FM radio--perhaps I'm outside of the range, or some LOS problem?

Nor am I a real pilot--but I think that the cut-off (red levers by collective) are the valves that open to start the "light off". The engines will ramp up to 20% or so, but will not go further as their is no "ignition" yet. The bleed air from the APU is getting it going up to that point, is how I understand it. I'm about as in the dark as you, though. I know one thing--NOTHING is going to happen if the "shut-off" valves aren't open. There must be some kind of hard interlock between shut-off valves and start sequence.

until you tell them to RTB, they will try to maintain formation. Just be thankful you are leading flight--and don't have to follow them, as in the case below!

Help with mission 9 **SPOILER ALERT** Help!--need a "hint" from someone who has gotten 100% on Mission 9 (find scout locations--waypoint furthest away is hairy--the river ends there, and you have quickly turn around). So I got 5 points for the following: wayoint 3 waypoint 5 waypoint 8 Got 10 points each for: Locating Voron 1 Locating Voron 3 And got 15 points for: Locating Voron 2 For locating "bandits with jeep/guns": 20 For finishing flight plan I received another: 20 That's 90 out of 100--can't for the life of me, find out which waypoint I'm missing (ABRISS says I hit each one) or if there is something else. Any "hints" would be greatly appreciated--as first I flew the mission twice because I couldn't find Voron 2 and 3 (barely had enough fuel to make it back to URSS each time)--now I've done the 90% thing twice. Thanks!!

good grief--you could sell that to the department of defense. Stunning home cockpit--

will it have Dolby prologic2e encoding? just got some cool headphones that can create 7.1 IF it was encoded per above. If not--5.1 will still work--just curios

make sure your net settings on the TAD are 01 and 01

Shez--agreed--the training was definately a step-up with the warthog. I guess what I meant was operating the avionics is more complex, for me. The preflight prep on the hog makes it simple once you're ready to pound some ground--but yeah, it's a lot more sophisticated than the shark. BTW--you left out some steps there ;) Plus you throw in the helmet mounted site--auto slewing with shkval, tracking gate size, etc.--it's a more primitive setup, and is harder to complete for me, than to employ weapons in the hog. I love both--but one is circa 1980, the other around 2000? Not quite sure when "C" started coming out. The datalink on the shark is pretty cool--seemingly ahead of its time. Again, task intensive though--unlike the hog. I went back to the shark for a stretch to wait for patch--hoping the JTAC works a little better. I've found I love flying the advanced instant missions--ramp start, etc.--but often the JTAC doesn't have anything for me. Hoping that changes, and am chomping at the bit.

OceanoftimeGER--glad you liked it. What do you mean by "more complex avionics"? I find the Ka-50 systems more complex myself--but could just be personal preference!

Someone had the great idea to ask the community to create PDF's that would help the newbie pilot get their feet wet in the A10C. I thought it would be great to do this for the Blackshark as well--and so I'll post the first PDF (pdf only please). I couldn't find a similar thread specifically for newbies, so hope this isn't repetative. In particular, this thread should expose some of the common frustrations western pilots have coming from the F-16, F/A 18, etc. My first PDF has to do with trim and autopilot. I hope a lot of the A10C pilots will consider flying the Blackshark as well--I find it more challenging than the A10C, but seem to get more satisfaction out of the Blackshark. Good luck! newbie_guide.pdf

I've revisted this campaign--it's really a solid product--excellent all around--nothing out there even CLOSE to the level of detail and immersiveness--without losing the "realism". If the ppl who are complaining about paying would realize what a production like this takes--they'd put their put in their mouth. E.g.--the woman FD/liason in the first few missions--if the producers revealed just how much time it took to do her voice recordings--and she is obviously (as are all of the characters) professional, or at least very talented--I think everyone would be surprised. Speaking from experience--it ain't easy. I imagine the amount of time it took for ALL the voice-overs to be created was well over 100 hours.

Sorry for English - getting a tattoo and am looking for a picture of original book cover of dostoevsky's "the idiot"--more specifically just the word "idiot". I remember seeing it somewhere and recall it looking sort of similar to English- save for a few characters. I didn't know where off topic forums were -- so figured a bunch of hog drivers wouldn't mind!

Have a go at "perfecting" A2A refueling--come back and let us know how it goes-- See ya in about 2 years ;) Actually--sure it takes less than that--it's just my current frustration (albeit the most fun I've had in a long time!) Sweaty palms, etc.--just tried my first time in the A10 (have some experience in F/A 18 and F16), tried to get on the boom for about 30 minutes, and just about lost the aircraft a few times. I finally paused it as I thought I might have a heart attack or something--stretched out and looked out the window, and thought--the real guys don't get to do this. They've got someone in line behind them, likely 3 or 4, but heh---NO PRESSURE. This is in idealic weather/visibility--
