  1. Just a note to say this is not fixed in 2.5.2.18307 Cheers James
  2. Brilliant, thanks probad that's really helpful. Something else to practice:thumbup::joystick:
  3. Thanks Matt, I've tried this several times though and the airspeed decays so quickly (I'm attempting it in a climb rather than a high rate turn?) by the time I get anywhere near the require AoA nothing seems to happen and I end up on my back with no control? Do you have a video of how the controls look and what it should look like from inside the pit/outside? Any tips like entry speed/weights you could share? :joystick: Cheers James
  4. No one managed this yet then? Cheers James
  5. Soft radar alert issue I raised in the bugs forum, it says fixed next to it now so assuming it's sorted for the next update Cheers James
  6. +1
  7. I think they are WIP judging by another thread...I'd say best thing to do right now would be to make a copy of the .miz file (say carrier launch quickstart) open it up in the editor then you can play around with the statics there without breaking anything (I changed all the liveries for example with no issues). Cheers James
  8. DCS/2.5.2.17978.385 Persian Gulf, single player, Win 10 x64 Guys, As per title i'm not seeing a light to illuminate the probe at night? Should there be one? Cheers James
  9. Anyone managed to do this yet? If so could you post a video or something showing how it's done and how it looks?? I just end up on my back at about 60 kts when I try it lol Cheers James
  10. So here's my new settings, seems to be a nice balance...I'll see how I get on now
  11. Cheers David..I'll give it a go, I'd already been turning down the radio vols, be nice if they could be set to a user default Are you using hear like helmet?
  12. Guys&Gals, Any of you audiphiles care to share your "dialled in" sound configs for DCS, especially with regards to the new Hornet? I obviously want a decent (loud!) level of engines when canopy open but don't want to be deafened by radio comms! Also F2 view can be deafening when transitioning... I also find the default (not locked) sidewinder seeker tone quite low against the environmentals in the pit? Even with all the volume knobs turned up full in the pit... Which sliders should I play with? And any merit to running without "hear like in helmet"? My boggo settings below :) Cheers James
  13. Hi, Not sure if this is a bug or I'm missing something. Win10 x64 DCS 2.5.2.17978.385 Persian Gulf - Instant Action - TakeOff from Carrier See track attached I can set the Baro alt soft alert in the AMFCD>HSI>DATA>AC page but I can't seem to get the radar alt to take a value from the UFC following the same method as I do for the baro? Cheers James RadarAltWarning.trk
  14. Yeah I'm guessing it's more complicated than adding a couple of wav files in grabbed from Youtube videos, hence people are struggling Would be nice to get an update from the Razbam team on it though especially the bit with Military Sound Studios or whether they are working on it internally alone now? Cheers James
  15. Here's what I hope it will get to sounding similar to, external start up and internally...Maybe I'm expecting too much? Dunno hence the question... Start up Internal
  16. Agreed..I think the modelling is superb but the sounds let the bird down right now which is a shame. But as I say I've no idea how the sounds are progressing, how much work is involved etc etc I thought I'd read somewhere that Military Sound Studios were doing a pack for it? Has that fallen through? Cheers James
  17. Thanks Nealius...I've never done anything with sounds in DCS in terms of creating content, so was wondering how capable the engine was, seems weird for example that lots of aircraft share generic sounds.. But the as I mention the F-18 seems to have great buffet noise, canopy noise, dynamic ECS noise depending on air flow etc etc So for example how many unique sounds can the engine cope with per model? Cheers James
  18. Hi, Any news on plans to improve the sounds of the AV-8B? What are the capabilities of the DCS sound engine? Can it handle dynamic sound events? Is it a limiting factor or is it just sounds are last on the list to refine? I'm thinking things like ignitor sounds are missing at start up, the classic spool down whine doesn't quite sound like the videos of harriers landing and chopping the throttle, there's no sound of the air column hitting the ground at low altitudes when in the hover whilst in the pit etc? Are all these nuances on a list somewhere to be worked on? Just that the Hornet seems to have a cracking sound set already and I'd love to see (hear) the Harrier have the same :) Cheers James
  19. Guess so, cheers Rob
  20. Cool yeah just retested and see the same, I must have cocked up on the date/time.. Can you ever set Normandy to less than 10C?? That doesn't seem to work? Cheers James
  21. In 2.5 OB, Caucasus, can't set the temperature in ME to below 8.4C...Even with January/Feb date set Think it was same in 2.2? Cheers James
  22. What's #3? I'll just put this here :music_whistling: https://m.soundcloud.com/btd/soundtrack-for-3 Check out btd's other works, is #3 a WIP title?? :detective_2: Cheers James
  23. Too late! I bought it!! And besides it's $59.99 right now so even more incentive :smilewink:
