Yeah it was the fact I hadn't used Notepad ++, worked fine after I dropped it in the Radar section Cheers! James

Ok thanks Phobon, I'll give it a go using Notepad ++
-
Thanks for this Phobon, where do I enter it in the file? Do I have to delete any existing lines etc? I've tried a couple of options that both left me unable to edit the mappings in game? Cheers James

Mission editor freezing on start up (Loading...) Guys, I've found that my offending add on was DAWS weather :( I deleted my Saved Games\ DCS.openbeta folder and ran repair after using JSGME to remove my 3 Mods (A10 Windshields V2, DAWS, Mustangs textures 1.6 v1.20). Started DCS OB and launched mission editor fine :-) Closed and added back my mods and it hung again so I had to end task. Using JSGME removed DAWS and retried and it launched fine Not sure if this helps anyone else, but thought it might narrow down issues with Mods? Cheers James

DCS: AJS37 Viggen - My First-EVER Landing (Quick Clip)
hughesj2 replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Nice one. Has anyone taken off from a road yet? Be great if some "hide" objects could be added in game to support advanced field operations, like FARPs for Viggens :-) -
No worries Micke

You're welcome mate Yeah that'll be it, the photo has the handy little table under the HUD...I just knew I'd get a load of comments about the feet to meters on it being wrong if I didn't say where it was from, the rounding seems to be pretty generous :music_whistling: Although not sure how much use the FL's will be when everyone's tearing round at max altitude of 50m :joystick:

Guys, I've created a little crib sheet with what I think will be some useful metric/imperial conversions and limitations. I've just lifted figures from the manual, used online conversion tools and for the altitudes table I copied a table from a photo of what I think was the fighter version, which I believe has rounding of some sort on the feet to meters conversion (maybe to make it easier for pilots to remember?) Thought I'd share it here in case any of you think you'd find it handy. Cheers James Viggen Crib Sheet.zip

RAZBAM Team, Some fantastic looking progress shots so far, can't wait for this one, especially as I'm loving the M2C much more than I thought I would. Any word on how the DCS flight model is coping with the V/STOL challenges with the Harrier vs FSX? The short videos you posted looked good from what I could see so I'm hoping it's going to be pretty accurate? Cheers James

Couple of nice vids while we wait... I think these videos demonstrate how important the sound set will be for this module, really hope the DCS sound engine can support the little nuances like the deliberately irregular igniter crackle that can be heard at the beginning of the start up video. (apparently if they aren't out of sequence/irregular then there's an issue with one of the igniters, can these failures be modelled in DCS?) I also found it interesting how noisy the airflow is versus the engine at the various stages in the VTOL video. Really hope the sounds (and flight model) can be nailed in DCS, I think the Mirage sounds fantastic from in the externals so have high hopes for the Harrier and it's clear from Razbams FB posts that attention to detail is a big thing for them. Hope you enjoy! Cheers James

No mate, all stock 1.5, just an early morning time setting (sun behind) , bit of fog I think, maxed out graphics and a lot of messing about with the free cam and external zoom level, oh and a bloody good auto hover system :) Cheers -

Are you using them mapped to a joystick button? That didn't work for me, have to actually click the switch with the mouse Cheers

DCS: A-10C Warthog - Khashuri Gap Mission with Tacview
hughesj2 replied to Bunyap's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Yeah good stuff as usual mate, change of pace from the Test Flight/On the range series which is where I first picked up your channel and nice to see you employing some of your standalone techniques in a mission scenario against reactive targets. Do you use the TM Warthog? I have one and I struggle with getting my zoom as progressive as yours appears to be in your vids, it seems to be either full on or full off when I use the Warthog's slider axis on the throttle? Cheers James -
Was wondering if these would reappear in 1.2.3 but I did a quick flight and still missing? Have they been dropped entirely? Or just overlooked?
