HELLO AND WELCOME TO FIRST IN DEFENSE Who we are We are a DCS unit that hosts casual yet challenging Naval and Marine events and campaigns taking place during the closing years of the Cold War, as the Soviet Union begins to crumble and tensions in the Middle East escalate. To further simulate this time period, First In Defense simulates five squadrons and their accompanying airframes: ➣ VF-31 Tomcatters flying F-14A Tomcats ➣ VFA-132 Privateers flying F/A-18C Hornets ➣ VMFA-321 Hell’s Angels flying F-4S Phantoms (Simulated by F-4Es) ➣ VMA-542 Tigers flying AV-8B Harriers ➣ VMA-133 Dragons flying A-4M Skyhawks (Simulated by A-4Es) All of our simulated squadrons participate in each of our operations, requiring constant teamwork and precise timing to complete objectives and return safely. Custom liveries representing the listed squadrons are available and are mandatory for member attendance. Squadron Event Information Events include weekly operations ranging from casual single missions, expansive PvE campaigns, joint operations with neighboring squadrons, and monthly tournaments. Each mission is hosted Thursday through Sunday, with run times tailored to North American players. Due to the nature of our squadron, training and related activities are not currently included in our syllabus. As such, our squadron does not require check rides or proof of skill to join and participate in operations. All we ask is basic proficiency with your chosen airframe and SRS functionality. Although frequent events may be challenging to new players, we strive to create missions that are completable by all skill levels and provide valuable learning experiences for all members. Information regarding weekly mission dates, map information, mission briefings and sign-up forms are posted on our Discord channel (See below). Please note that access to this intel is only available after submitting a squadron application. Leadership & Advancement As our squadron does not require training or check rides, rank and advancement are entirely based on member attendance. Each attending member begins as a Navy Ensign (ENS) or Marine Second Lieutenant (2LT), based on their chosen airframe and squadron. As members attend more events, they are promoted to higher ranks, leading to more control within operations as flight leads and planners. Permanent Discord link

Awesome thank you so much! Can you show me how to tweak it? I modified Red 1 to be a Tu-22 and Blue 1 to be an F-18. When the Tu-22 started evading and dumping flares it reacted to itself (probably seeing flares as being shot at). I set the bomber to No reaction as its defence and it worked when I shot the gun near him Also is 1000 a distance in feet? Is it the distance between the firing aircraft and Red-1 or the distance between the bullets and Red-1? Again thank you so much!

@CarloVecchi It almost was, the reflectiveness is off but barely noticeable on the fuselage. Problem is very noticeable on the vertical stabs though, as the blue strip cuts through the yellow 7. I PMed Josh about it, to see if he's willing to help in the matter. -

Maybe if I try making them the same colour as the fuselage, no need for transparency? -

Hello gentlemen, I'm working on a Blue Angels skin for the F/A-18D (The 1992 team for now, #7 LT Dave "Hoops" Stewart and #8 LCDR Randy Duhrkopf) If you look above I'm having problems removing the formation lights. Any ideas? -

Hi there fellow aviators! I am new to mission editing and scripting in general and want to add extra nice features to one of my missions. Let me explain : Exhibit A (Warning shot) I want an enemy airplane (let's call him Red 1) to wait 5 seconds after a friendly airplane (let's call him Blue 1) fires its cannon past his nose before turning back to base. Here is what I have so far that doesn't work. I have set a 1000' moving zone around Red 1 (let's call it Red Zone 1) and called two triggers as follows: Trigger #1 Type: ONCE Event: ON SHOT Conditions: WHEN PART OF GROUP BLUE 1 IS IN ZONE RED ZONE 1 Actions: SET FLAG 10 = 1 Trigger #2 Type: ONCE Event: NO EVENT Conditions: TIME SINCE FLAG 10 = 5 Actions: AI TASK SET = SWITCH WAYPOINT 2 (the RTB point) The problem I encounter is that when I'm shadowing Red 1 (but have not fired yet), as soon as anybody in the mission fires he breaks away. ___________________________________ Exhibit B (Open bomb bay doors) I have a Tu-95 Bear loaded with anti ship missiles (Let's call him Red 2) and I want to have him open its bomb bay doors (argument 26 going from 0 to 1 gradually) while inside a moving zone around its target (let's call it CV zone 1). Without any triggers and/or scripting the Bear opens his bomb bay doors the second the weapon is launched, giving no chance for the ally aircraft (Blue 2) to react and shoot him down. Help is much appreciated!
