Dollittle raid was launched from USS Hornet by 16 modified B-25 Mitchell, that only take off form them, others as P-40, and P-47 was carried aboar and use as ferry to reach near bases when that aircrafts take off from carriers and landing on land bases. The only way for the AI to hunt down a downed player could come from the dynamic campaign, but as mentioned, this is something we've never seen in DCS World so far, and we'd be talking about ED putting forces in the rear to patrol areas. If they have to "capture" a downed pilot, they'll have to get within firing range at least, to deploy some sort of infantry squad (something we don't have either). It seems to me like we're touching on issues that go beyond the scope of what DCS World is all about. It's like a CSAR mission should be recreated. * How do the rescue forces detect the pilot? (They should have a radio with a beacon installed.) * Does the pilot's radio have a frequency or frequencies that the enemy can't detect? (We're not just talking about encrypted radios, but also whether the enemy has EW equipment that can track them.) * How can the pilot defend himself from forces hunting him down? (Maybe we're talking about something like an FPS.) * How can the pilot hide from enemy forces in the meantime? * How do you pick up a pilot in a "hot" zone? (ropes, hooks, ladders.) There are many points to discuss.

  5. That pilot model coming from the Lomac / FC times, on fact, ED need use the future "infantry animatios" to bet more plausible use to a pilot to move and "survive" on the DCS W environment. The problem, what funtionality require a pilot to make a CSAR mission.
  6. Sorry by the OT... Remember, the Mig-21 "nukes" was only a 3rd Party extra from old long times ago first module 3rd party module of DCS W (on fact, the "nukes" has only a very big HE bomb). ED has talk very clear they never go to implement NBQ weapons on DCS, and ED has many years ago are all weapons develop on your hands... If ED dont implement them, none go to make them (include 3rd parties modules weapons). All Mig-29A weapons has make by ED, If ED dont aprove and/or confirm them, none of them will coming to DCS W.   9. The problem is the same as always: who does it? ED apparently has no plans for an A version of the F-15/F-16. Remember the F-15C entered production in 1978; it's plausible see them on the Germany map (on a C of MISP I version).
  10. It's not that money rules, it's that there are licenses and governments involved here. We have a third party, which is Chinese, and it has been very clear that it has to be very careful about what it can and can't do. The same thing happens to ED, which was Russian, and it also has problems with what it can and can't do. It's simply not seeing yourself in a legal situation or worse, simply because of a desire. Su-25 ang -27 has none confirmed yet, but remembe we have incoming a Mig-29, and surely the others FC aircraft will be on a future as a FF modules (no by russia, but by other country).
  11. ED has none plans yet to add none RED 4+/5 Gen planes to FC.
  12. A video of a C-130 deploying cargo, in which you can see several pallets with fuel canisters launched from the cargo hold. You can see that the parachutes (I believe they are G-12 parachutes) are attached to a guide line, and when they reach the end of the ramp and drop from it, this guide line breaks the upper canopy, releasing a small parachute that is responsible for deploying the main parachute. We also see that the parachute's opening is not automatic, but the initial parachute pulls the main parachute bag and deploys it. You can also see how the main parachute inflates and stops during the fall. The good thing about this video is that there is an external shot of each release, showing the shape the parachute takes on its descent. Let's be serious... the servers are going to use a 1995 Viggen AJS, a 2005 AH-64D Block II, a 2005 A-10C, a 2007 F-16C Block 50, a 2002 F/A-18C Lot 20, a 2001 CH-47F, a 1999 C-130J and more... the fact that a 2000 version of the Mirage F-1M appears in 1980 is going to be irrelevant, because everyone is going to want to fly their module on the German map.
  14. In the latest images of the ASC C-130, I've seen that the parachutes appear to be poorly modeled when they release their payloads. They appear to be either too large or not deployed properly. Since it's unknown whether the parachutes are made by ASC or ED, it would be helpful to know if a generic parachute model is being used for payload deployment or if a specific one is being attempted.   15. Aerges has not delayed nothing, on fact continue the develop of your two modules but the F104G module has nothing to do with the Germany map by Ugra Media. On fact, Aerges Never was your plans release the F104 with the Ugra Media Germany map, and ED has not talking nothing about a complete module by Aerges to internal testing, or a preorder to release. Remember Aerges has not show a fully funtional F-104, only teasers on december 2024. That module surely need 1-2 years to release them. Aerges was very clear 7 months ago... Tasks on aerges: - Rebuild the M-1 Radar, detection and tracking. - Overhuld the external and carrier landing textures - improve the C101 and F1 posible failures and damage models. - Customize Force freeback and the colimated sight repeater con the F1BE - Component based simulation to improve phisical, logical and failures. - F-104 go to good progress, Flight model and basis systems are ready and funtional.   16. Aerges has building the Spanish M version, that version never was AIM-120 (none version was equiped with AMRAMS) or a Mica missile.
  17. You've made me remember the old Dangerous Waters from Sonarlys... I think it's one of the few simulators we've had that simulates a P-3/SH-60 in good conditions... Let's see if we can move this forward and improve everything that is EW/Sonar and ED is applied to improve it.

  19. That has similar to a narrow band on a sonnar, you can identified a ship by your sound firm...
  20. Considering that ED is the one creating all of DCS W's weapons and associated functionality, this could be a handicap. Another issue is that even if you have access to the SDK, you can't modify parts of the core because they're closed (most likely to prevent unscrupulous individuals from stealing parts of the simulator code or the work of other third parties, which may have "passed through" or been attempted in the early days).. That's the point: touching things like EW, sonar, vehicle modules, naval or FPS, etc., may be beyond the reach of a third party because they can't be implemented if ED doesn't make the necessary building blocks. An example could be why Heatblur, after so many years, still doesn't have a deck crew or much of the supercarrier functionality on the USS Forrestal IA or at this time, because the M3 USS Exxes doesn't have it for WW2 either (we also don't know if the ED USS Enterprise will have it). The panel of an F-105G very likely has specific functionality. The big question is, do we have those building blocks in the core? We haven't seen an oscilloscope of that magnitude used by any third party yet, and I'm starting to think it would be more plausible for a WW2 module, like an old A-Scope radar like an oboe navigation system. Another point is, we know the AGM-45 has frequency seeker heads implemented, and it seems the EW and SAM radars are also implemented. How does this affect the AGM-78? What are its capabilities? Is it programmable? (Its first version, the AGM-78A-1, carried the same seeker head as an AGM-45.) Perhaps there is some way to "force" a system-specific waveform to be created and used on the F-105G's receiver panel (or any other EW aircraft). Here we can start asking questions. How can we identify a specific radar? How does this panel interact with the AGM-78's panel? How can the weapons system interact? How does the ECM system work? SOLIDKREATE and Blaze1 has answered some of them....
  21. I think there are several issues here. - First, we're dealing with a community MOD, not an ED or third-party AI. Perhaps the question should be directed to the MOD creator. - Second, we're talking about a third-party AI, in this case Heatblur. There shouldn't be any issues with any configuration in that AI, so it should be noted in the appropriate forum section.
