Is this working in 1.1.1.0? I tried with a buddy but he can't seem to look at the same target, was eventually quicker just broadcasting SPI. Also, is there a way for him/me to get rid of all the "older" triangles? Thanks for the guide!

Yep, these BMP3s are deadly that's why I use them on my training missions for guns runs. Fortunately, they have weak armor. Unlike tanks wherein you need a concentrated fire from close range (0.7nm or closer), a "pray-and-spray" approach on BMPs does work. Put the BMP just below your AP pipper, give it a short burst, and break off as he starts firing at you. Works every time, no matter what altitude you engage from or what angle you go for. Hope that helps!

Druid, that is the two AI flight approach that I was talking about. Great for overhead passes, but crap at landing since the first one needs to be at threshold before the second flight executes the final approach. nom, I'll try and see what I can find, thanks!

I'm trying to configure an AI flight to do a couple of laps over an airfield for "immersion" purposes. The idea is for them to maybe do an overhead break then land. At the moment, if I make an AI flight of 2 aircraft, they do a very beautiful formation landing, but when flying, the wingman is "reasonably away" from the lead, say a few hundred meters. Is there a way to make him fly "airshow performance" from the lead, spitting distance from the lead's aircraft? I can make two AI flights with one aircraft each and at a spacing of 300m, the trailing flight looks like it's the wingman of the lead flight. However, when landing, the second flight waits for just-before-touchdown of the first flight before it makes it's final approach. So, I either get beautiful landings but with the wingman far away from the lead, or beautiful in-flight spacing but single landings. Is there any way to get both? Is there any way to set in-flight formation and distance of aircraft in a flight? Thanks!

Is it possible to play custom audio (voice recording) in a mission? ie once the aircraft enters a trigger zone the audio will play, or once an enemy group is defeated, an audio will play. How is this done? What programs will be needed to do this? Thanks!

Lol, I know there are lots of uses for the CDU, but surely we do not use them all. I am wondering what other pilots use it most for. As for finding ground speed, I cannot seem to find the IAS line. Here are the two pages of the Steerpoint sub-page: What am I doing wrong?

Thanks a lot! I will do some testing tomorrow, see what my frames will be. I've also reduced clutter to 200m and trees to about 4500m. If Near Distance = fully rendered, Far Distance is when it starts to become 3D? -
I've just "tried" reading the CDU parts of the game manual and after just a few pages, I must admit I'm stumped, bored, and sleepy. I mainly use my CDU to set waypoint-changing from Auto to Manual, and do the occasional MGRS coordinates input for when JTAC doesn't give me the red triangle symbol on the TAD. Or for adding new waypoints. Aside from these useful stuff, I've also used the CDU to consult divert airfield's radio/ILS/TACAN settings. Other than that, I barely touch the CDU. I was wondering what other uses there is for the CDU, and how often do you use it? Obviously I am hoping to learn something practical and useful... Someone once told me that it is possible to view ground speed (for taxiing) via the CDU but I can't seem to find how this is done.

Yes, 1.1.1.0. Tried the links that you gave and it works! However, I've noticed a framerate hit (duh!) and I was wondering what is the distance set at? I noticed a little bit of 3D stuff at ~10nm out, maybe if I can edit this to ~6-7nm before they pop up, that will give me less FPS hit? Can you advise me what values to change? I do apologize for the trouble, working with a HD 5770 so not much GPU muscle there. Thanks! -

Kuky, I tried importing your files into my install directory and my Mission Editor would not load up. I've tried copy-pasting the settings but I think I'm doing something wrong. What I'm basically looking for is the setting that will make the cities pop put much earlier/farther away. At the moment, the terrain looks very flat unless I am very close to a city. Thanks! -
When I start up the game, my view is zoomed in a bit and slowly zooms out over 5 seconds. Pressing the Num Enter key zooms my view back in. I then zoom out manually to my preferred zoom-out-level. Is there any way to edit a .lua file parameter or something so that the Num Enter key automatically gives me my preferred zoom-out-level? Thanks!

Haha... as I use the PC for non-simming purposes, I don't like the idea of the gear being turned on the whole time. The hub takes power either via the PC's USB port or the mains plug, so I have to turn the plug off and take the USB connection out to power-down all my stuff.

So does it meld with the respective program (ie, we'll just get a new menu choice) or will it be a totally different program? Just curious, won't matter either way. And let me be the first to blame ED for making us realize that there is not enough free time in each day/week for all the goodies.

If they're talking about FC3 being able to integrate with A10 and BS2, does that mean that we can have player-controlled F-15s and SU-33s and Frogfoots in the mission as well? The air above Georgia just got really busy!!! I just hope they do a discount for FC2 owners like they did with BS1. I'm also very curious about Combined Arms as well.... I'm a bit confused with the way it was worded. Is this a separate program? Or is it a new feature that will be integrated with the current A10/BS2/FC3? Still, it would be awesome to actually interact with a human FAC in the game.

I've had my WH since Christmas 2010 and my stick base gave out a few months ago. After a few emails to TM, I got a new one sent over. Aside from that, no issues whatsoever. I also mount my WH on center, with a stick extender from metalnwood. My favorite part of playing DCS A10 is going in for guns runs on tanks --- it's got to the point now that I consider it a waste of ordnance to drop bombs/LGBs on tanks, so my ammo drum often winds up empty before I even spend all my ordnance. Just shows you how accurate the gear is. My gear consists of TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFDs, Saitek rudders, and TIR5. All of these plug into a powered USB hub --- simply for convenience. I don't like the idea of all the gear being powered when not used, so a simple flick of the switch and power goes out, then just pull the hub's connector from the main PC and all the gear is now disabled. Very satisfied TM WH user here, and if you're looking to play DCS A10, this is the best investment you could ever give yourself.

I'm sorry, I'm very very confused now. I was able to add a RUS skin to the USA inventory of skins simply by going to the RUS skin description.lua file and add a "USA" to the countries line, so that's cool. Note to self -- description.lua files tells the game that this skin is available to these countries. However, I now want to find that RUS skin, edit out the red star, and change it with some other USA logo. I cannot seem to find the appropriate file (KA-50-PAINT1-DEF-01.bmp) on the /World/textures folder though.

Hmmm... where can I find the default skins? For example, if I want to edit a default skin, maybe add a country flag or erase a logo, where are the actual skin files located?
