All I want is for ED to make a public statement one way or the other...either Gold is 1.1, and is fully supported by them, or Gold is theft, and not supported by them in any way (no future patches etc..). Any company with their product on the shelf, no matter what anyone thinks about said product, can at least acknowledge its existence. And the only people ALLOWING sh!^ to be stirred up are ED themselves. Silence breeds contempt.

Well, maybe that got their attention...so how's about coming down from thine lofty tower and explain to us mere peasants what the hell the deal is with Lock On: Gold!!! I find it unfathomable how a company can ignore their customers like this. I want to support ED, I also want to go walk into my local store and buy LO:Gold. Are these desires in conflict? Is ED involved in the Evolved games release? If they are you would think they would want to advertise that their game is on store shelves...If they are not you would think they would want to denounce the product. I wonder if maybe they broke the agreement with Ubi by putting out FC on their own, and that is why they can say nothing about this latest release, it would be like the pot calling the kettle black. I hope ED can learn from Lead Pursuit how to conduct a product launch, and then maintain active communication with its customers. LP have been all over the forums answering concerns and giving out info. The paying customers (and it appears alot more than bought FC) who bought F4:AF are being shown how an organization that cares about its customer base can operate. ED could learn alot from the example. so it's no wonder ED has 20 people at a time on its forums, while other sites have over 100, it's no wonder there are threads asking if LO is dead. Between competing product releases, and your poor customer service, it should not be a big surprise if your customer base is reduced to only those guys who are still making missions, skins, movies, etc with your sim. People who just want to PLAY can obviously get more elsewhere. Cheers Mates, not sure if this will get me banned, nor do I care. :icon_jook

Lock On Gold actually includes 1.1?
Colt40Five replied to SuperKungFu's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
when the first questions about this gold release came up, NP had not yet shipped any copies of FC. So if ED was involved with this release at that time (please remember they were on the forums saying this title was NOT 1.1) It was a blatant deception to induce people to buy at a higher price point. If they had come out back then and said..o yeah that title on EBgames is 1.1, and yeah it's $30, and yes you could just walk into a store and buy it in a few months...do you think very many people would have bought from NP? but until ED decides to weigh in on this it's all speculation... from these forums 4/22/05 not that they couldn't have lied to NP as well... -

you know the more I think about it, the more it makes sense that ED is involved in this. They could have worked out a deal whereby they are allowed to market FC as an add-on for a limited period of time at limited outlets (DL, NP), and then after it's made all the money it can (with max profit margin for ED) in that time frame, it is boxed and sold at a REDUCED price on Major store shelves so that Ubi (the owner of LOMAC in the US) can get its cut. According to other published rumors...Ubi's deal with ED covered only 1 add-on, but there's no sense if there are going to be TWO add-ons that ubi wouldn't want some of the potential money that could generate. I mean why else own a license? And I doubt ED would turn down the possibility of making some extra $$$ from a North American shelf release. What sux here is that, if ED is in on it, they have taken a huge dump on their most loyal fans with the higher priced "advance" copies. If they aren't in on it I hope they can defend themselves. What I hope most of all is that they will get their heads out of their asses and come clean to this community! I swear ,language barrier aside, they have got to get a handle on customer relations or all the eye-candy in the world isn't going to save them. -

Colt40Five replied to SuperKungFu's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
IIRC This LockOn:Gold was listed at EB with the 1.1 info BEFORE NP started shipping FC. I remember because I cancelled my NP order to see how the whole thing played out. So if ED is in on it they have been planning this since the beginning. -

haha wow you have a complex dude...If i had really posted those words why would i even be here? Fact is I do care, and I want to see ED succeed, but they are not going to do it by manipulating the community into costly "advance" purchases. -

All i'm saying is it's between Evolved-ED-the retailer...READ NOT ME. And I am so sick of the doom and gloom about our hobby!! falcon4:AF just opened HUGE! With every intention of their being a falcon 5(or whatever they call it) straight from LP's mouth. then there's Fighter Ops, BoB II, Jet Thunder, MSFS 5, the sim future has never looked brighter!!!! -
Lock On Gold actually includes 1.1?
Colt40Five replied to SuperKungFu's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
no it isn't free...it costs $30 at bestbuy, gamestop, EBgames, amazon..etc.... And just because ED hasn't seen fit to let us in on all their business dealings, doesn't mean they haven't occurred. -
Lock On Gold actually includes 1.1?

If I buy it from BestBuy how is that an illegal copy? And is the burden of proof on me to ensure that software I buy from a main-stream outlet is legal? And if ED is indeed not getting any compensation for this release(which has yet to be determined) either they could not or would not fight to defend their IP. Is that my concern either? -

Who's to say ED didn't know about this release from the beginning? Or that they may not have either the resources or the position to persue legal action? however it came about, bottom line is FC for $30 US with no shipping. I'm glad I waited to see how this played out before purchasing a $50 copy from NP! -
All your great shots made me post one of my favorite sunsets...

Free of charge of course :) Su-25/25T are excellent! And I always hear about how they were designed to operate from poor airfields....sooooo, How about making a few crappy dirt airfields cut out from the trees with oil drum fires for lights at night for us to operate them from! I know there are portable ILS systems, but you can skip that....I want a CRAPPY airfield lol.

4 Low Altitude Valley Flights. Three are designed for the MIG-29S, one is for Su-27. First course is relatively short and can be flown with full afterburner in about 4 mins. Other three are considerably longer. See Individual mission briefings for more info. I recommend watching the included tracks, and flying the courses at reduced speed prior to a full on attempt....but no actual lives or property are at stake so.... Enjoy! C45-Valley Run @ lomacfiles

LOL Ice! I can see the ebay add now......

The whole reason I registered here and started this thread was to hopefully get info straight from ED. So far no such info (or any response for that matter) has been forthcoming.

Isn't the Russian CD version a stand-alone 1.02/1.1 hybrid?

Ok I shot in the dark and emailed EB about lockon gold...my email...then the reply. Make of it what you will. Original Message ------------------------- Hello, I am interested in the PC title Lock On Gold. The company that makes the game (Eagle Dynamics[ED]) is located in Russia, and according to data on their website have an exclusive north american distribution deal with Naturalpoint (makers of trackir). I have contacted ED and the publisher Evolved Games about the validity of this title with no results. Neither seems willing to acknowledge its existence, which is weird for a game they expect to sell. What I would like to know is who provided or procured the information on this title that is displayed on your website? Can you confirm that this title is a stand-alone version of Lock On (not requiring the previous release to play) and that it will be shipping on 5/3/05? Thank you in advance for any information you can provide. RESPONSE -------------------- Hello, Thank you for contacting EBgames.com. According to our information this is an authorized title for sale. Should this game be cancelled it will be removed from our website and pre-orders would be cancelled. This title does not appear to be an expansion and should be a stand alone version. From the looks of the game it is an up to date version of the original. If you have any other questions, please feel free to respond to this email. You can also give us a call at 877-432-9675, 7 days a week from 8 am to Midnight Eastern Standard Time. Best Regards, Philippe EBgames.com

I find it absolutely mystifying that no one from ED has anything to say about this. Bump.
-
Yeah it does seem legitimate. And if it was a situation as stated above of someone just "copying ED's latest info" for the description, you'd think someone from ED would want to stop blatant misuse of their intellectual property. I am of the opinon that whatever some of you may think we are not privy to who may or may not have "exclusive" rights to whatever type of distribution deal. Any "official" statements to the contrary. Official statements have a way of being officially changed..... either way, me thinks it was premature to order from naturalpoint. A problem easily rectified at this stage..

I saw the discussion on simhq....which is why i posted here. I would like to hear from ED themselves about this release, not just speculation. I for one will be upset if I pay $48US to have one shipped from naturalpoint, when I could just walk down to my local EB and get it for $30US

Can someone from ED comment on this release? Is this a 1.02 release or a 1.1 release? Looks like 1.1 to me.....if it isnt the ebgames site is way incorrect. ebgames lockon gold
