Bye Phant

  9. @Zeus67 Prowler111 @Alpha Juliet As per the subject, I was wondering if RB confirms development and release of the Super Tucano after the announcement of the PC-9/A from Check Six Simulations. Bye Phant
  10. OctopusG - DCS: La-7 DEVELOPMENT NOTES In the next note on module development, let's talk about the features of air combat on the La-7 aircraft. As previously noted, the powerful ASh-82FN engine provides the Lavochkin with superiority in the main flight characteristics over opponents at altitudes up to 3,000 meters. Based on this, the main task of the La-7 pilot in air combat is to engage in combat at low altitudes, where they can maximize the advantages of their fighter. In the world of DCS, the Lavochkin's closest competitors are the Spitfire, Mustang, Focke-Wulf, and Messerschmitt. While the Mustang and Focke-Wulf can be easily outmaneuvered in turns, the Spitfire should be defeated in vertical maneuvers, utilizing high energy capabilities. The Messerschmitt is the closest competitor in terms of its characteristics. Fighting it is almost on equal terms and largely depends on the skill of the pilot. The most successful pilot who flew the La-7 in real life was the famous three-time Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Nikitovich Kozhedub, who had a total of more than 60 officially confirmed personal victories on La-5 and La-7 aircraft. According to his memories, Kozhedub achieved his victories primarily by striving to gain the initiative in battle. The renowned ace had the most suitable fighter to implement such tactics. Our team honored the memory of the outstanding pilot by recreating the livery of the aircraft on which I.N. Kozhedub fought. We have no doubt that the La-7 aircraft, with its introduction into the world of DCS, will make a significant contribution to the development of virtual air combat. Bye Phant
  11. PC-9/A Announcement The DCS: PC-9/A is a new aircraft coming to DCS that is being developed by Check Six Simulations. This module will be an accurate representation of the Pilatus PC-9/A, a popular turboprop trainer aircraft used by a number of air forces around the world. The PC-9/A will offer a superb flying experience that includes an accurate flight model, instruments and systems, authentic sounds, and realistic visual effects. “Check Six Simulations is pleased to introduce the DCS: PC-9/A, a single-engine, low-wing tandem-seat turboprop training aircraft that was operated by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) for more than 30 years. In the mid-late 1980’s the PC-9/A replaced the MB-326H jet trainer and was the backbone of the Australian Air Force and Navy pilot training. Beyond its traipning role, the PC-9/A was operated by the RAAF Roulettes demonstration team and used in Forward Air Control (FAC). DCS: PC-9/A is precisely modeled using 3D scan technology to highlight every detail both internally and externally, accurately replicating this aircraft in every way. Our development team has gone to great lengths to model the flight aerodynamics to allow aviators to experience the most authentic feeling of the capabilities of this aircraft.” Bye Phant

. 22. F/A-18C Hornet Pilot Model Progress on the new DCS: F/A-18C Hornet pilot model is coming along well. The final model is undergoing animations that will drastically improve the gestures and idle poses. New ejection animations are also in progress. The ejection animation of the Hornet has been reworked, and this includes the opening of the parachute, walking and idle animations. The basic poses have been improved to be more natural. Attention was paid to important details like the oxygen mask tube and the parachute lines. The pilot geometry also now matches the one in the cockpit. Work is underway to integrate the completely new and highly-detailed F/A-18C pilot model for the first-person view, which is important for VR. The source materials were obtained by using 3D scanning technology and objects obtained from photographs. We look forward to sharing more details. Once the Hornet pilot is complete, the DCS: Mi-24P Hind’s pilot and co-pilot models will be updated. We will also be improving the Viper’s pilot. Bye Phant
