Thanks for your reply. Your idea is just what I'm hoping to achieve. I like your idea of using switches to fly with rather than spending a lot of time going through a lengthy startup. Just me. love the DCS A10 but I "fly" different sim planes including those from FC2 like the F15....& hopefully a DCS F18....maybe :music_whistling:

Thx vitabutch. I have the pieces to make the stick extender and will work on it soon. My seat sits higher than most so the stick is positioned relative to it.

Nice looking pit. The seat looks very comfortable and the pedals are awesome.

Made a little more progress today. In the picture attached, I have some test panels I printed a few months back. I have them in place just to test the led strips lighting with a dimmer. Looks like its going to work great. Should get everything else in place this week and the 47" monitor mounted. Hopefully I'll be airborne soon.....then on to pit number 2 :pilotfly:

For those using 42"-47" tv for monitor
deaconjb replied to deaconjb's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Plasmas do put off a lot of heat partly because of the glass screens. The glass also causes a glare unless there is limited or no light source in front. Thx for the info. I won't be that concerned about the refresh rates then. -
For those using 42"-47" tv for monitor
deaconjb replied to deaconjb's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thx for the comments and suggestions...that helps. I looked at the specs on a random 47" just to get sizes. Looks like its approximately 27" tall and my "eye level" will be around the 13" mark. So from what I'm seeing here, I should be ok. Is there a particular refresh rate I should be looking for. I have several large screen tv's. my largest is a 64" plasma with a 600hz refresh rate. It's great for viewing fast action like sports, etc. I'm thinking 240hz will be fine for the computer???:book: -
For those using 42"-47" tv for monitor
deaconjb replied to deaconjb's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thx for the reply Dachs. So if there are issues with the 46-47" , would you recommend going with a 40-42" as a single monitor? I don't want to have problems but I've heard other have used the 47" and love them. I could do a multiple monitor setup but since I'm going to have two cockpits side by side (http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1588847&postcount=25) Ill only have room for one for each. -

I'll be using a 23" touch screen running Helios w/ a 47" LCD tv for my main monitor. As I have my cockpit designed right now, I will be approximately 4' from the tv but I might have to tighten that space down to 3' due to space limitations. Is this too close? :helpsmilie: I've never had a monitor over 21" before. Thx

Hitch's A10C Pit (Pictures Plenty)

Thx for the video. Nice setup  -
A little progress Made a little progress today and just about completed the NACES seat. Since my seat is on wheels, I needed a way to "lock" it into position when I'm in the pit so I made a spring loaded locking bolt and attached it to the ejection control handle (rope). Once in the pit, the locking bolt will lock into position behind the joystick mounting plate. I will probably move the pit inside next week and get the printed side panels, touch screen monitor, and LED strip lighting installed. Thanks for looking....and as always, your comments and suggestions are very welcome.

Great looking pit! Very nice.

:surprise: Awesome!

Thanks for the suggestion agrasyuk. So with your idea in mind, I've mocked up what it might look like. The only panel that doesnt seem to fit is the Armament HUD Control Panel but it will be part of the Helios touchscreen setup.

ACES to NACES seat conversion Trying to make an ACES to NACES seat easily convertible. It's not a perfect replica of either, but when I'm done, it should work great.
-
I converted this file Anti_G_suit_valve_test.pdf - and yes it has all 3 layers w/ text
-
Email him the "test" file. If he can open it, we're good to go and I will convert all of them. Let me know if that helps
-
The PDF's are also fine for someone doing CNC work for you. They should be able to convert with no issues. I don't mind conveting them, just want to make sure you can use them. @MnW - Did you try opening my test.rar file to see if it worked for you?
-
Fantastic collection of photos and a great resource to the sim community. Thx DM
-
@Outlaw - the files have text included and would take some time removing it from each PDF files. It can be removed from the DXF file later. See the attached and let me know if this works for you. Test.rar

Awesome

Looking forward to it :joystick:

@ agrasyuk - this pit won't have the room needed for ALL the A10c panel switches. Which ones would you suggest including?
