  1. Decals Any chanced I could get a copy of your decal files? I'd like to get some printed. Thx :)
  2. Got em...I'll see what I can do
  3. If you point me to reactor1 files, I could convert them for you tomorrow.
  4. Thanks agrasyuk. I'm ok with building things but wiring switches and making realistic panels seems a bit more than I want to take on right now. The good thing is, the side panels can easily be changed out if I want to add a more complex panel layout later.
  5. Ive managed to make a little progress. I'm a little farther along than these pics show and will post more soon. The left panel will swing open to ease getting in and out of the pit. Ive also decided to make a NACES seat. Pit #2 will be closer to an F18 than A10
  6. Fantastic pit MnW! Many great ideas. I really like the seat rail idea and will try to include it in my pit.
  7. Sorry if this a repeat. I'm currently working on a cockpit design that will be used for different aircraft (A10c, F18, F15, etc) I'll have the TM warthog and also one touchscreen with helios on my center front panel for MFD's. What "must have" switches would you include in addition to the above on the side panels. Keep in mind, I'm NOT building a high fidelity pit that includes everything. Thx *My pit progress can be seen here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=95425
  8. I've recently had conversations with him by phone and he is in the process of rebuilding the website. He also has several new designs in the works. With his recent job change and move from Arkansas to Oklahoma (and to Dallas by years end) he's been busy. I'm sure he will give an update as soon as possible.
  9. I'm finding that not having the luxury of 3D modeling my pit design before assembly has proved to make things slow going. I've had to correct a few minor things but no big issues. However, It has put me back a bit on getting new pictures up. Coming soon.
  10. Material What material / process are they using to print these panels?.
  11. Very nice MnW:thumbup: Where are the files to the seat located? Thx
  12. Many wrong ways - but making progress Thomas Edison is said to have tried over 10,000 different ways to invent the light bulb. When asked if he was discouraged he said, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Well I feel the same way about my first attempt at cockpit building. I've made a lot of progress and should have many pics to post tomorrow.
  13. Test printed the acrylic today and it came out nice. My "black" color profile was off a bit and allows light to pass through. i have corrected it and will print another tomorrow. Once I get it done I'll post a pic.
  14. Has anyone ever actually built or in the process of building y2kiah pit? If so, are there pictures? Great looking pit BTW
  15. Well as it turns out, you can attach toggle switches to acrylic. As I said before, I print acrylic all the time but have never attached a TS to it. I'm going to print and test a sample this week and post my results with pics. Here's a company doing it: http://www.wiringproducts.com/contents/en-us/d529_switch_panels.html
  16. Panel looks very nice. Thx for the info
  17. Website has an "s" in it http://www.viperpits.org
  18. Nice. I'm going to try the white plexi. I have a UV printer that will print directly to the white plexi. So whatever I don't want light to pass through will be black. Should work. I print backlit sign panels like this all the time just not sure if having toggle switches attached to the plexi is a good idea. The plexi ill use is 1/4" Here my website http://www.signsnowlc.com
  19. I ordered some LED strips today like the ones shown on this thread. Great idea.
  20. Here's one I found a while back. http://www.simpits.org/x_files/HowToAceII.PDF
  21. A few pics of monitor mount Didnt get much done the last couple of days but got the seat primed. I've also included a few more side shots of my monitor mount that is easily removed. **The last pic is why my pit has been delayed. Made some shelves for the wife - but the cnc machine made quick work of it.
  22. Panels look great. Has anyone ever tried printing panel graphics right to white plexi-glass and then backlighting them? I'm wondering if you'd get the same result
  23. BTW - I'm not opposed to cutting your files that will ship in the US if someone might be interested. I would imagine shipping pit parts overseas could get expensive.
  24. Appreciate the comments. I've had the CNC since January and it has really enhanced my capabilities in my business. I've heard of some ppl making their own home CNC machine. I wouldn't know how or have the desire to do it though. Worked on the center panel some more today and enhanced the piece that holds the monitor and it will also now line up so I can add a glare shield later. Since I'm not building a "replica" pit, I'm trying to decide what switches to include in my side panels and which ones to leave out. Any suggestions?
