  4. I've got a problem or maybe I'm just not understanding the readme. How do you create .lmr files. Say I create a mission in LockOn and save it as a .mis file. Then I try to load it into LMR and I get an error (not a lmr file or something). Same thing happens if I just change the extension to .lmr. So my question is? Where do the .lmr files come from??

  6. Hi I want to make a profile for my Saitek Cyborg Evo (using SST). What I want to do is assing a button to cycle through all mastermodes (1,2, 3, etc) So if I press it once it will register a 1, twice a 2 and so on and then back to 1. Is this possible?
  7. Well I think it's worth the effort. Even if after patches the videos are not 100% accurate it's still better than no training at all and definetly better than people going "the patch breaks the training missions, ED sucks, I demand you redo them all at once"
  8. I think that the plane shakes when you deploy the airbrakes in flight (i'm not sure though) maybe that's why you are getting the shaking on level flight. That or overspeed but I don't think you can overspeed on the T without diving.
  9. You will be able to see targets with the tv monitor (23x mag) from much further than you can see out the window. Most of the time you can lock a vehicle using the monitor and look out the window and see nothing, but believe me it's there.
  10. That's a valid point Weta. Maybe some track tells you that you can fire a missile as 15nm and score a kill, then the game is patched and you have to fire at 10nm to score a kill. The training video does not reflect the reality of the game. Still since the focus of lockon seems to be moving towards ground attack (su-25t and ka-50) I think most training videos will remain relevant. Maybe those where you dodge missiles will be rendered useless (patches missiles will make missiles more or less effective and thus the tactics depicted will no longer apply) but the ones describing delivery procedures, navigation, etc will still be usefull.
  11. I would pay for better models too. After looking at the gorgeous model of the 25t all others just look ugly. I've been flying the 15 a lot recently and it's model it's just light years behind when compared to the 25t. I don't know why ED won't accept 3rd party models for the flyables. If ED is making them, then tell us. I understand it's time consuming to make new models and probaly ED can't spare any resources to do them so if you don't play on updating them then at least accept models from the community and add them in a patch.

  14. That's what I feared. I was thinking: If converting tracks to avis is so easy then why hasn't someone done it?? Guess the answer is: beacuse it isn't easy :icon_mrgr I still think it would be a good idea, maybe ED will release 1.2 training videos instead of tracks (or both). That way we can safely patch up to 1.21 without breaking the trainings.
  15. I just had this idea (don't know if it has been brought up before). Right now tracks don't play back correctly if you update your game:( . That means that all the work that takes to make a track is useless once a new patch comers out. But why not make all training tracks videos. If I remember correctly ED wanted to include the training tracks as videos in version 1.0 but Ubi said no because thay didn't want to pay for 2 CDs instead of one. But right now with all the online distribution thing in place ED can just host the videos for everyone to download. Since the tracks for 1.1 are done it would just be a matter of recording the video and uploading it. Even if the files end up big, I wouldn't mind keeping my pc on downloading thru the night. Maybe we can help, 5 or 6 persons can make the videos and ED just hosts them. I really don't know if making the tracks videos is hard work, but isn't it worth it.:D
  16. Only training tracks for the A-10 have voiceovers (done by Ironhand). All other are just text like in 1.02. There's nothing wrong, that's just the way it is.

  19. Hi all. I'm planning to upgrade my system and I need some help wit it. Right now my system is a PIV 2.4GHz, 1GB DDR RAM and an agp 8x Nvidia 6800GT. I'm planning to buy a new CPU and motherboard and have like $500 to do so. I've decided to go with AMD so my first question is: Which AMD processor should I get? (around $400) I want to use my AGP 8x Nvidia 6800 and the RAM I've got (DDR). Considering that which motherboard should I buy?
  20. I don't think so mikoyan. That one has been whined about since Lomac 1.0 and sadly the answer has allways been no. But maybe in lomac 2.
  21. WOW!!! :D I can't believe it. ED will be my heroes if they pull this off (specially the clickable cockpit part). Maybe the Ka-50 can snatch the crown from Longbow 2 ;)
  22. Exactly. Other effects are no problem. Only cannon rounds (because you will have numerous explosions in a short period of time) causes slowdown. That's why I suggested to remove the cannon fire smoke (or reduce it) other smoke (missile smoke, smoke plumes from destroyed vehicles, etc) is ok.
  23. It is a solution when that effect in particular is causing slowdown. Load 4 gunpods and fire them for 1s (and try watching it through the Shvkal TV too). You will get bad FPS believe me. So let's try to isolate the problem: Ingress=smoth Shooting=smoth Shells impact=0 FPS Egress=smoth So it must be something when shells impact the ground that creates the slowdown. It can be the smoke, the explosion effect, the sound, etc. I personally think it's the smoke, but the sound thing does make sense too.
  24. Turning down the effects does help. But other effects that do not impact FPS much are also turned down. I think the answer is to disable (or greatly reduce) the smoke that dsiplays when rounds hit the ground.
