Has anyone found a way to trick the FSX demo to run on a windows 2000 system?
-
I agree, no point locking out the fuel loadout if you can just dump it later.
-
I have the exact same stick, and the next thing on my shopping list is a TrackIR. For me, my stick is adequate. whereas my situational awareness is inadequate.
-
Another similar thing that I think happens at least on my client log is that the name of a player currently using an aircraft seems to get subsituted for all events involving that aircraft, even before they started using it. I don't know if this affects the servers log though.

Extra, extra!! F-16's latest AG kill!!! (RL)
Hitman IF replied to Pilotasso's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Nope, this seems to be real: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4295968.stm -
Pilotasso, I disagree with your option one. If he's still not destroyed enough to stop him shooting then shooting seems like a good idea. I think that's what good damage modelling is for. I agree with you though that 1.02's damage model seemed a little lenient. I suppose this brings us back to your option 3 - use more missiles and make sure it's dead.
-
I think part of the problem here is that fighter pilots don't think enough of their mission while flying escort. Missile conservation can get scant consideration when you're tangling with a fulcrum or something.
-
Totally agree with this. When you fight, you fight to win. So long as it doesn't prevent you from accomplishing your mission of course.

Turkey could be interesting. Should be easy to craft a few scenarios round the Bosporus and Dardanelles.

I have a similar experience on my Athlon 2800+ and 6600GT. I can only assume it's something to do with a CPU limitation.

You need to run the .bat files with a dual install rather than the .exe or you will have problems.

Perhaps ED could manage to add a ping kicker setup through LUA?

Keyboard map for LockOn 1.1?
Hitman IF replied to Asterix28573's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
There is one at: http://www.simhq.com/_downloads/downloads_air.html I did one which you can find by searching here. It isn't as good but it does have a UK keyboard layout if that's what you prefer. -
Actually, I find the AI to be as good as a lot of humans gunzo. Depends what you're flying against of course. Most gun fights don't last much more than a minute, if they do then you'll probably run out of fuel on burner.

I was just reading this on the BBC news website: "I know they have their own ROVs. I also know they did try and they suffered some fairly major failures in these ROVs. That is for them to investigate," Cdr Riches RN @ http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4130754.stm -

Great, thanks for posting Wags. -
Lock On Gold actually includes 1.1?
Hitman IF replied to SuperKungFu's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Not really. I expect you still have to have the CD in the drive. I bet those who just bought LOMAC & FC seperately will be a bit miffed though. What I'd be interested in if I were to get this is if it'll be supported for current and future patches. Does it include the current FC multiplayer & LOD fixes? I know the current fixes have versions for CD version and Web version, does this mean that the patch will have to have a version for the Gold Edition too? It seems amazing that they've managed to release a product that fails to activate for anyone. I hope we don't lose prospective community members who simply give up and return the disc as defective. Heres hoping they fix this after the weekend. -
on the TWS radar display, friendlies have a dot, and enemies a dash at one end of the carats. This is quite difficult to see in TWS mode, you may need to zoom in a bit to see it.

Also to prevent detonation by mobile phone signals as was used in Madrid.

How NOT to get killed by friendly AMRAAMs
Hitman IF replied to D-Scythe's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hiding without an AWACS to guide you isn't much use. Especially if you're flying the F-15 and don't have an EOS to acquire with stealth. -

Hitman IF replied to D-Scythe's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
In the F-15 it's a good idea to leave it on most of the time. First time I flew the Mig though, I realised how difficult this makes things for the russian jets on my side. So now I try to turn it off when I'm RTB unless somebody's chasing me. -
Good find. Hopefully this can be included in the patch.

Lockon & Anti Virus & firewalls...
Hitman IF replied to Conuk's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I always leave my Sygate Personal Firewall and my AntiVir running while I play while connected. -
I've been playing the battlefield 2 demo for the past week. I don't suppose I'm the only one doing this either.

As he said, he has RDRAM, not SDRAM, which is notoriously expensive.
