I believe something is broken with the runway....there is about a 5 foot drop to the runway from several of the "short taxi-ways, you don't see it, but instead of the runway, your plane falls 5 feet onto its nose. The taxi-ways that reach the end do no have the cliff, but there is a weird "transition" when you taxi onto a runway which pops a tire......able to validate with another player.

I have slower internet at home and would like to download the updates to place on a USB stick while I am at the office. Is this possible? I am sure I would have to place it in a certain dir I'd guess.... Thoughts?

So I installed everything to my secondary SSD (D:/ drive).... If I wipe my OS SSD and reinstall Winblows, will I have to do all the reactivation stuff?

I just clicked the "VR" setting, and turned off "Field of View", put water to LOW and shadows to flat.....runs real nice and good frame rates just flying or in combat.

I have been back to playing it flat-screen and I tried DCS 2 with the VR last night. MAN, I still love the depth of the cockpits, and as far as A2A, I can deal with it. Imma try that video card deal to see what that gets me.

What do you mean when you say to connect a monitor to the port you have the Rift connected to? It plugs in HDMI and USB.....

True, when I go back to the 27" this evening, I may find the same thing, I doubt it, but who knows.

I mean, maybe I have some graphics setting wrong, but the ABRIS is "readable", yes. I just think "readable" may be the operative term.

I agree wholeheartedly on the situation awareness, I just want to see the situation more clearly. Hopefully the CV2 will make that happen.

It's not the naseua. When I was in the Navy I got sick everytime when I first started flying, after a few flights, it was no issue. That I can deal with, not the screen door I have to look through. And to be honest, I don't want my eyes to "get used to it," Lord knows if they did, everything else would look blurry too. :)

My "Opinion" on DCS and the Rift (CV1) So I just figured I would post my honest opinion of DCS (only DCS)in VR using the Oculus Rift. My system Basic Specs are as follows: ( I won't bore you with all the model numbers, but believe me, they are pretty stout) I7-6700K 16gb RAM 2 x SSD (one on the MB and one on a cable) MSI GTX1080 Ben Q 27" 144hz Monitor Not sure how to put this.......... I like it (a lot) and I don't like it (a lot). I wont get into the "feeling" you get when you fly in VR, that in itself is amazing. You really feel like you are in a cockpit. I mean, the thing that really got me was the 3 dimensional way the cockpit looked, you could "see" the gap between a hydraulic line and the roof of the cockpit. (in the KA-50) I felt like I was in a Disney Ride, nausea and all. I will say you won't find yourself throwing the aircraft around anymore, why, because you will throw up all over your nice PC. But the screen door effect. MAN, that sucks. If you want to fly for the sheer joy of it and do BVR missions then it is the thing for you. But I will say, even reading the Scope on the F-15C is kinda difficult (unless you line up with it and move your head forward, then sure, it's readable). Forget about "reading" the small text on the gauges and such. Yes, my pixel density is at 2.0. I have tried all different types of aircraft and helo's, and while you really can do it all (A to A and A2G),hell in my first time in the F-15C I shot down 2 planes, one with guns, so it isn't all that hard, it is just really hard to get past that pixelation, for me. I am not sure how it is going to be going back to non-VR, but i'm sure it'll be fine. This isn't meant to discourage anyone, I don't regret getting the Rift (picked it up for 400, not with the touch), but if you like Multiplayer and A2G, get a good monitor. I was more impressed with switching from a 24" 1920x1200 60hz monitor the the BenQ 27" 144hz. The quality of the image between the two is quite noticeable.

Funny, now I got the cockpit in English, and the HUD is Russian.... Strange.

I have a question. I have the path correct, I can even see the choice "English Blue" in the special section. When I go into a mission, the HUD is english and the cockpit is Russian. THoughts?

So here's the thing, I love flying the f-86 and have been taking some time trying to learn the different aspects of bombing. I have practiced both automatic bombing mode and manual bombing mode with limited success (I get close to the targets....juuuuust not quite close enough). I haven't tried LABS yet. My question is this: in the mission Sabre Rattlers (downloaded for 1.5) I have watched the AI F-86's drop bimbs, but not like I have seen. Basically, they just fly straight and the bombs come off the wings and then curve down to the Target. Don't think it's LABS, as they are straight and level. Am I missing a secret bombing mode, or is this maybe normal AI behavior.

So I noticed the pre-puchase is out for the F-5. Do we get a working version (I know pre-release) or do we just pre-purchase then get it when it is released?

These guys have a excellent pdf on the operation of the F-86. I use their Joystick setup for my X52 and it works great. I also like the dead zones as it makes this module feel more realistic (to me)

I just had it do the exact same thing to me, after I just updated to the newest version of 'OpenBeta'. Why would we get hit with a activation after an update?

I'd be happy with some decent missions. There are "some" but they are all over the board, hard to tell what version of the game they work with etc..... Sigh, such a fun bird to fly.....

This flight did not go well.....at all.

Not sure if it matters, or you did it...but did you lower the throttle setting before setting the Emer Gov to On? Might not be anything, but figured I'd ask.
