25 July 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, In light of the very successful recent sale, we have launched a mid week special with deals for many of our most popular aircraft, terrains, campaigns and add-ons, so if you haven’t already taken advantage of the summer sale, head over to our Shop and Steam and get the last of our summer deals. Thank you! Enjoy! On Wednesday, we rolled out the update we previewed in last week’s newsletter, and your feedback on highly anticipated items including the new F-16C Advanced Targeting Pod, F/A-18 Terrain Avoidance mode, and new AH-64D “George” AI commands has been greatly appreciated. Please make sure you update your DCS installation to benefit from all the recent fixes and enhancements. Read the full changelog. Among the many flight demonstration teams, few capture the imagination as well as the United States Navy’s Blue Angels. This week, we’re saluting the Digital Blue Angels; a dedicated troupe of DCS aviators who mirror the precision, pride, and discipline of the real demonstration team. If you’ve ever felt a surge of adrenaline watching blue-and-gold F/A-18s carve perfect diamonds overhead, then join their Discord now! In response to recent comments and questions made by Razbam Simulations, its proxies and/or external developers, Eagle Dynamics confirms that it signed a settlement agreement with Razbam at the end of 2024 to put an end to the existing disputes and that such agreement also provides for a strict confidentiality requirement that prevents Eagle Dynamics from disclosing further information. Eagle Dynamics can, however, confirm that Razbam instructed Eagle Dynamics to cease selling the modules developed by Razbam and its independent developers. All modules continue to function ‘as is’ and despite not receiving any access to source codes or cooperation from Razbam and its external developers, Eagle Dynamics will do its best to ensure that these modules continue to function in 2.9.X. We are still hoping to be able to implement the settlement agreement and to find a satisfactory outcome to the current situation, in the best interests of our valued community. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics MidWeek Deals Even more savings! For just a few more days, take advantage of our great deals! 11 July 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, The clock is ticking on our 2025 Summer Sale, which ends on the 13th of July at 15:00 GMT. Fill your hangars with new aircraft, terrains, campaigns, and important add ons at great savings! For the upcoming launch of the MiG-29A, we are finalising the completely re-engineered SPO-15LM Radar-Warning Receiver (RWR) that is built on a new physics-based approach resulting in true blind-zones, side-lobe interference, power-based detection range, and all the quirky threat-sorting that Soviet pilots had to master. With altitude-dependent priority, separate elevation channels, and mode-aware warnings, the SPO-15LM will demand the same mastery its real-world crews required. Please note that time is running out to get a 30% discount during pre-order on the DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum! We are pleased to inform you that the Early Access launch is planned for September, 2025! The upcoming update will contain vast improvements to the Germany Cold War terrain. We are delighted to share a preview of these improvements that give you a clear sense of where the terrain stands and where it’s heading. Thank you for your passion and support, Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Summer Sale Last chance to save Now is the time to secure hallmark modules like the F-16C Viper, F/A-18C, A-10C II Tank Killer, AH-64D, F-14 Tomcat, and the Supercarrier at up to 50% off. Please enjoy these amazing savings whilst you still can. The DCS Summer Sale 2025 ends on the 13th of July, 2025 at 15:00 GMT. Shop now! SPO-15 Beryoza For the MiG-29A Fulcrum The SPO-15LM for the DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum module is built using a new physics-based approach. The system simulates a more realistic signal environment in order to ensure the most realistic behavior, algorithms, and limitations of the modelled SPO-15LM RWR system. The new system comes with a radar database containing signatures and behaviors for each radar system in the game, including details like carrier frequency, waveform type and (if applicable) pulse train pattern for different operational modes, antenna and transmitter properties, search strategy depending on range and altitude of the target, signal variability, and CCM used etc. All of this information is used in two ways: to calculate accurate power density at the receiving antenna at each time step, taking into account the physical properties of the signal and the directivity pattern of the transmitter antenna, and to permit realistic modelling of the RWR system itself. On the receiving end, the antenna and receiver properties are similarly taken into account in order to obtain a physically accurate estimate of received power. Each antenna and receiver channel is processed independently. This is critical for accurate modelling of the Soviet systems as they do not use amplitude comparison to estimate emitter azimuth; instead, each of the azimuth channels on the display corresponds to its own set of an antenna, a receiver, and initial processing hardware. As a result the coverage isn’t always 360 degrees. The antenna beamwidth varies with frequency and the antenna gain varies with azimuth and elevation, which causes the detection range and signal power for each emitter to vary not just with radar type and work mode (with the radar transmitter power and antenna gain being the deciding factor rather than its target detection performance) but also with orientation of the aircraft. The emitting antenna directivity pattern is also simulated, which means that, at low distance and high transmitting power, side lobes will be picked up and head-on emissions will bleed into receiving antenna side and back lobes blinding the device. Conversely at low signal power, the system develops blind zones all around the aircraft, and the RWR might fail to pick up the main lobe unless it passes directly over it. The unusual antenna coverage of SPO-15LM in particular requires the pilot to be aware of these blind zones during combat. The improved simulation of signal propagation, together with attached signal signature (PRF, pulse width etc.) allow for accurate modelling of the signal processing algorithms used by the system. The SPO-15LM, while being an analog system, performs many tasks that are normally relegated to digital systems, and some of these analog systems use vastly different approaches compared even to early western systems, which leads to numerous quirks and limitations that are now accurately replicated. The most obvious, as already described, is how the threat azimuth is determined: The airspace around the aircraft is divided into eight azimuth channels covered by 10 azimuth antennas (with, notably, the two forward-facing antennas furthest off-nose on each side merged into a single processing channel), and two elevation channels covered by two elevation antennas. Each of these channels is processed separately with a fixed signal power threshold to activate each channel. The only time the signals are combined is to measure the signal power for the power level display (which now shows the actual signal power in 2 dB increments from threshold, rather than a simple function of range) and for the target priority algorithm. Lack of combined processing also means that coverage of each channel will vary with emitter power and frequency. The system features compensation systems, but they are crude and their effectiveness varies with signal power. The identification and target priority circuits also process each channel separately, meaning that in rare cases the same threat might even be interpreted differently in two neighboring channels, and two threats on opposite azimuths might both be interpreted as a single, main threat if the signals sync up. The identification process involves measuring the repetition time and pulse width of the signal and sorting it into very broad PRF/PW bins. The measurement of PRT can fail if it’s not stable (e.g. due to jitter) making some radars impossible to identify. The presence of multiple emitters in the same sector will also interfere with this process. Even if this part succeeds, the low number of signal parameter bins means that the system might still assign the wrong type to the threat if the signal parameters are close enough. The system is also able to separate Continuous Wave (CW) signals from pulsed signals, and to interpret colocated CW and pulsed emitters as a single emitter in Semi-Active Radar Homing (SARH) guidance mode; it cannot however distinguish between different CW radar types, meaning this feature is susceptible to false alarm. Pilots thus need to be weary of the fact that the system will not always be able to accurately identify the threat type. To improve usability of the system, the threat program is generated automatically based on known threats present in the mission and is provided in the kneeboard for every flight - in reality, the threat program cartridge was issued to units based on the threats present in the combat theatre, and was not designed to be field reprogrammable. The friendly emitters are not included in the program, but they might still be falsely identified as hostile for reasons described above. The system also has an ability to sort the signals into 2 bins by carrier frequency, however in the MiG-29 this feature is permanently disabled, as it requires each sub-band to be scanned separately, reducing probability of detection against radars in search mode (the MiG-29 lacks the full control panel which would allow this function to be switched on and off). The target priority circuit is similarly modelled with its limitations. For instance, the system takes flight altitude into account for the priority algorithm, but it has to be entered manually. In the MiG-29 in particular it is forced to a high setting (8-16 km) without any way to adjust it, meaning, Short Range Air Defense (SHORAD) systems are always treated as low priority. The system will also prioritize radars in track mode over search mode. But again, track mode is recognized entirely by the length of the illumination event being above a certain threshold, so at high signal power emitter side lobes might falsely trigger the track warning. For the priority threat, the system displays the signal power (as well as the highest estimate of weapon range for the given type in terms of equivalent signal power) and the elevation - the latter only being available at high signal power due to much lower sensitivity of the elevation channels. Pre-order today! Don’t miss the exclusive 30% discount. Hurry! This offer only lasts until launch. Once launched into early access, the discount will be reduced to 20% off. Cold War Germany Updates coming soon Ugra-Media’s upcoming update will focus on polish and immersion. Several navigation aids will have corrected identifiers like the Frankfurt VORTAC and Northeim and Walldorf airfields broadcasting their proper callsigns. City names for Weißenfels and Gießen have been corrected, and the F10 map sports resized/repositioned prepared SAM sites, radar, and hospital map icons for faster mission creation and planning. You will notice more realistic destruction effects for industrial plants and power stations, a new damage model for stadiums, and improved fields with hay bales and tractors. Typical village churches will have more accurate heights to improve visual low-level navigation. These refinements move the terrain one step closer to Phase 2 in which it will be expanded further. Please stay tuned for the next update to enjoy these updates. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

The Peacekeeper Lebanon’s campaign improves the opening ferry hop for the Huey, while the Operation Cerberus North campaign no longer flags the wrong structure in its fifth Hornet strike. For Hawg drivers, the Operation Persian Freedom campaign received a blanket radio-trigger update, and the Flying Cyking’s Northern Defenders campaign fixes kneeboards and removes a rare crash in its bomber-intercept mission. Reflected Simulations’s Arctic Thunder campaign addresses Viper parking, and Badger 633 refines wingman cues in Rise of the Persian Lion II campaign. If you own these campaigns, make sure you download the latest update! Sinai Development Progress OnReTech has pushed the Sinai map far beyond its original borders. The medium-detail zone now stretches northeast to include all of Israel, southern Syria, including Damascus, and even a slice of western Libya. This opens the door to fully model several Arab-Israeli scenarios without work-arounds or empty/low-detail areas. Across the entire theatre, every mountain face, desert plateau, and coastal plain has received new colour-corrected albedo and normal maps. Dawn over the Negev and Golan Heights at dusk never looked better. Five key airfields anchor this update: Israel’s northern Ramat David (complete with bespoke shelters), Saudi Arabia’s forward Tabuk airstrip, Lebanon’s Rafic Hariri international airport, and Syria’s twin airfields of Damascus International and Mezzeh. Each is ringed by newly created SAM fortifications and army bases. These locations are indicated as icons on the Mission Editor map. Further, dozens of bug fixes, terrain seams, and scene-layer glitches have been resolved. You’ll feel the difference when flying low and the details cranked up. We look forward to your feedback! Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

20 June 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, In collaboration with Magnitude 3 we are delighted to bring you the long awaited early access launch of the DCS: F4U-1D Corsair. The ‘Bent Wing Bird’, as she was affectionately named, was built for long range air-to-air and air-to-ground attack operations and packed a serious punch with rockets, bombs and machine guns. It mainly flew over the expanse of the Pacific theater from land bases, but also operated from Essex-class aircraft carriers. Take a look at the launch video here. This is a classic not to miss. This week’s update focuses on providing a number of quality of life core improvements including AI and weapon improvements, with further refinement of the Quick Action Generator. Aircraft such as the F-16C, F/A-18C, and AH-64D as well as several 3rd party aircraft also received important enhancements, In addition to the Corsair, this update features the release of the highly detailed free DCS: Marianas WWII map. This is the first stage of our Pacific Theater of Operations scenario. We will be attending the FlightSimExpo 2025 from the 27th to the 29th of June at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence! Come and find us as guests of the WINWING booth; we’ll be showing off DCS with their latest hardware. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics F4U-1D Corsair Fly it in early access The early-access Corsair features a highly detailed and realistic cockpit and external model that are rendered entirely with PBR textures. The featured -1D version includes a Mk.8 Mod.1 fixed gunsight and even the ASM-N-2 Bat glide bomb. Flight modelling simulates the aircraft’s unique characteristics that made it a deadly opponent to Japanese forces in 1944 and quite a challenge to operate from an aircraft carrier. The Corsair's powerful engine and massive prop torque provides exceptional speed and climb that leant towards its slashing attack tactics against slower and less capable aircraft. Along with the Corsair release, an Essex-class aircraft carrier, Japanese coastal guns and ground vehicles will be available for free as part of the Core update. Other assets are being created such as the F6F Hellcat and many United States and Imperial Japanese air, ground, and naval units. Please see: Pacific Theatre of Operations | CH-47F Development Progress | Lunar Sale Final Hours - Official Newsletters - ED Forums. For this scenario, we are creating an extensive and accurate set of units that match the time and location. This will allow you to recreate the Battle for the Mariana Islands and the Battle of the Philippine Sea. The DCS: F4U-1D Corsair is available now for only $47.99 during the early access phase. Please note that once the module is released, the price will increase to $59.99. DCS Update Development Progress This week’s update is headlined by the free DCS: Marianas WWII map and the long-awaited DCS: F4U-1D Corsair. This update has also squashed several stability and performance bugs, improved AI behaviour, overhauled several missile flight models, and pushed a healthy list of quality-of-life fixes to the Quick Action Generator, Mission Editor, and Voice Chat. Marianas WWII A free map of the Mariana islands that includes Guam, Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and Pagan. Based on period maps and photos of the islands in the summer of 1944, they are characterized by hastily bulldozed runways, cane fields, volcanic ridges and villages under Imperial Japanese control. DCS Core Texture streaming now uses less RAM and disk I/O; Mission-Editor templates and resource-manager copy functions are now working correctly; WWII ground units received proper radar returns; SAM logic prioritises targets more sensibly; Buk and Kub missiles received improved aerodynamics, while the R-27 series of air-to-air missiles now deliver more accurate velocities. The Quick Mission Generator received several improvements such as fixing era/country mismatches, restoring missing aircraft and adjusting altitude and airspeeds. Voice-chat mode selection and mid-transmission slot-switch crashes have also been fixed. Eagle Dynamics Modules F/A-18C received more accurate AIM-7 FLOOD and AIM-9 uncage logic, and the flashlight behaviour has been fixed. Work continues on the new Terrain Avoidance radar mode and the ability to set surveillance MSI surveillance tracks as an L&S and DT2. F-16C Viper saw AGM-65 seeker fixes, INS/GPS drift corrections, HMCS symbology tweaks, and a long list of HAD and CMDS improvements, while the new AN/ASP-33 pod moved into extended testing. Although our hope and intention was to release this new targeting pod for the Viper by the end of Quarter 2 of 2025, it requires a bit more time in testing to ensure a quality release that will include new features such as Multi-Target Tracking (MTT), Picture-in-Picture that combines the infrared and TV cameras, Extended Range (XR) functions, and more. The planned release is for summer 2025. CH-47F receives a major CDU/MFD feature drop including hover-mode HSD, full fuel-and-power pages, data search, progress pages, plus keyboard entry options and pedal-trim fixes. Miscellaneous: the Su-25T instant-actions were added for the Iraq map; the F-86F jettison sound bug is silenced; and the Black Shark 3 enjoys ABRIS accuracy tweaks. Third-Party Additions Orbx – Kola adds six new arctic bases, colour-corrected summer textures, runway-data fixes and an optimisation sweep. Deka – JF-17 introduces TWS-EXP radar mode and radar-page HPT fixes. New Campaigns and Improvements The F-4E Northern Defenders Campaign by Flying Cyking and the P-47D Wolfpack II Overlord Campaign by Reflected Simulations are also now available. Along with the improvements included in last week's update, more campaign improvements will follow later in June. Read the full changelog. FlightSimExpo 2025 Come hang out with us! 13 June 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, The Kola map is progressing steadily with six new airfields, improved ground textures and reduced loading times slated for the next DCS update! Please read the details below and keep your eyes peeled for the incoming update. Development Screenshots. In collaboration with Magnitude 3 and to support the release of the F4U-1D Corsair, we are developing the United States Navy’s revolutionary weapon in the Pacific Theatre: the ASM-N-2 Bat, the world’s first fully automated, radar-guided glide bomb. Deployed in April 1945, the Bat’s active radar system made it a pioneer of modern missile technology capable of autonomously homing in on targets with deadly accuracy. Please read the details below. The Corsair is undergoing thorough tests, and we plan to deliver this module in the next update. We look forward to your feedback. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics DCS: Kola – One Year of Development A Year of Crafting the Battlefield One year on, the DCS: Kola map continues to expand as a dynamic and strategically significant theatre within DCS. Developed by Orbx, a leading scenery developer, this map spans over 1.35 million square kilometers of Arctic and sub-Arctic terrain covering northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia’s Murmansk and Karelia regions. Since release, the map has received substantial improvements; adding new airfields, infrastructure, visual improvements, and performance enhancements that have shaped it into the detailed and responsive environment it is today. Built for large-scale operations, the map blends complex infrastructure with fjords, tundra, forests, and mountainous zones layered with historical and modern-day military relevance. With more than 20 functional airfields, detailed ports, and key industrial zones already in place, Kola supports a wide variety of tactical scenarios. End of Early Access – 22 July 2025 The Kola map will exit Early Access on 22 July 2025. This marks the formal end of the initial launch phase, but not the end of development. Orbx remains committed to ongoing improvements, with new content and technical updates already planned. “The development of the Kola map is not ending with Early Access. We are committed to adding content and updating the map in line with the platform technical innovations. Orbx started to work on the map over three years ago and this has been a great project for us. We have learned much about DCS and will use that knowledge together with our passion for creating terrain and sceneries to enhance this map even further.” — Anna Cicognani, CEO, Orbx What’s Been Delivered 1.35 million km² of land and sea coverage 20+ airfields with surrounding infrastructure and navigation Custom ports, radar sites, urban centres, and military facilities Free and payware missions available via Orbx and ED stores Significant VRAM and performance optimisations Scheduled New Content for June 2025 Release: Kilpyavr (XLMW) Luostari (XLML) Koshka Yavr (XLMY) Kalevala (ULPK) Poduzhemye (XLPU) Afrikanda (XLMF) Coming Over the Next 3-6 Months: Airfields & surrounding infrastructure ESPG, ESNG, ENKA, ENVR, and EFRU Enhanced ground textures for low-level flight Continued VRAM and rendering performance updates Why Kola Matters The Kola region has long served as a critical military frontier — home to Russia’s Northern Fleet and dense Cold War-era infrastructure, now bordering NATO-aligned airspace. DCS: Kola remains in active development, with more content and improvements on the way throughout 2025. ASM-N-2 Bat America's First Radar-Guided Bomb The release of the ASM-N-2 Bat in DCS marks a significant advancement in World War II combat simulation by introducing the first operational radar-guided glide bomb to the battlefield. This weapon enhances the strategic depth and historical authenticity of late-war scenarios, allowing players to engage enemy ships from stand-off distances with unprecedented precision for the era. Its inclusion showcases evolving aerial strike capabilities and provides a unique tactical option for pilots flying U.S. Navy aircraft, emphasizing the technological innovation that began to reshape air warfare in the closing stages of WWII. Development and Design The Bat’s origins trace back to 1941, when RCA proposed a television-guided anti-shipping weapon called Dragon, where an operator would steer the bomb using a live TV feed from its nose. The National Bureau of Standards (NBS), later part of the Army Research Laboratory, was tasked with designing the airframe, building on the same guidable ordnance frame used in the earlier, abandoned Project Pigeon. By 1942, the concept evolved into the Pelican, a semi-active radar-guided bomb for anti-submarine warfare. In mid-1943, the design shifted again to incorporate an active radar homing system from Western Electric, paired with a 1,000-pound (454 kg) AN-M65 general-purpose bomb, the same ordnance used in the USAAF’s Azon guided munition. The final Bat design, officially designated SWOD (Special Weapons Ordnance Device) Mark 9, was a technological marvel for its time: The Bat featured a plywood frame, constructed by the Rudolph Wurlitzer Organ Co., known for its expertise in bending plywood for organs and jukeboxes. Its 12-foot-long, 10-foot-wide structure was gyrostabilized with a Bendix Aviation autopilot, using elevons (combined ailerons and elevators) for steering. Small wind-driven generators powered the controllable tail elevator, linked to an S-band radar homing device in the nose. The Bat carried a 1,000-pound general-purpose bomb, optimized for anti-shipping strikes but adaptable for land targets like bridges. Corsairs over the Marianas in 1944 June 1944. Dawn slides across the Pacific and glints off the blue-black wings of the brand-new F4U-1D Corsair as she taxis onto the deck of USS Essex. Below, a seething amphibious armada is already closing in on Saipan’s coral beaches. Flight-lead Lieutenant “Duke” Klein pulls his canopy shut, opens the cowl flaps, and spools the mighty R-2800 to life. The gull-winged fighter shudders like a thoroughbred straining against the blocks. One last magneto check, a green flag from the deck officer, and the Bent-Wing Bird is hurled into the humid morning sky. That take-off sequence is exactly what you’ll feel in DCS with the DCS: F4U-1D Corsair by Magnitude 3 LLC. The module is confidently approaching finals with our recent tests showing promising results for an early access launch. Stay tuned! Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

After months of meticulous island-hopping, our World-War-II rendition of the Mariana Islands has reached release-candidate status. 1944 Saipan, Tinian, Guam, and their sister islands now bristle with crushed-coral runways, Quonset camps, and shipwreck-strewn lagoons, ready for your Corsairs! We are progressing steadily and looking forward to releasing this free module very soon. For evenings filled with the hiss of afterburners and a canopy filled with contrails, check out the DCS Dogfighters Discord! They are the hosts of the BFM 1v1 cup by VIRPIL Controls and offer 1v1 and 2v2 servers for you to enjoy and sharpen your skills. Join up. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics DCS Campaigns Development Progress A-10C II Operation Agile Spear receives a full campaign diet: compressed voice-overs, lighter briefing art, and wholesale replacement of legacy AI flights cut mission load-times dramatically. Three sorties: 03, 05, 08 are brand-new builds with revised strike packages, smarter enemies, and reworked scoring, while every mission gains fresh chatter and cleaner radio logic. Watch out for the surprise on Mission 15’s short final. UH-1H Peacekeeper Lebanon fixes its opening ferry flight by restoring the correct Almirante Lynch NDB, ensuring a smooth coastal hop. F/A-18C Inherent Resolve patches Mission 1’s stuck debrief, adds a TGP and extra ordnance, and fine-tunes Delta Flight re-joins; Mission 3 is now a hot-start armed-recce with optional Hard/Immortal modes, refreshed target sets and working audio cues. In the most recent update, you can also find that Reflected Simulations’ Tomcat and Phantom sagas have received quality-of-life passes. Fear the Bones and Speed & Angels now compute carrier wind-over-deck precisely, adopt Tomcatter 87’s new S-3 skins, and boost radio-signal strength. Both MiG Killers and Red Flag 81-2 integrate the latest Jester logic for snappier calls and smarter bars. Marianas WWII Development Progress Over the past quarter, we finalized the core terrain mesh, completed eleven wartime airfields based on survey data, and replaced modern infrastructure with heritage structures, including barracks, cane presses, and Shinto shrines. Vegetation density was recalibrated to 1940s agricultural patterns, and new shader compiling has shaved nearly 20% off GPU load in over-island dogfights. The free Marianas 1944 map is now feature-complete and internal testing is nearing completion. Currently, our artists are fine-tuning areas such as Ushi Point on Tinian and the Orote Peninsula based on 1944 field recordings, images, and footage. We are also working on mission content. Looking ahead, our next milestone is to lock the build and provide a release candidate to our internal and Closed Beta testers. 30 May 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We have released a hotfix for the latest update based on your feedback and our additional testing. Also, we have squeezed in a couple fixes for older issues. Please update your build to the latest version. The F4U-1D Corsair by Magnitude LLC is progressing well and is now in testing! Its launch will be based on results of careful testing and creating content for it. We kindly invite you to read the details below of this amazing aircraft and stay tuned for early access! Please watch this DCS / Pimax Interview to discover how Pimax and Eagle Dynamics works together to push the boundaries of flight simulation with cutting-edge VR immersion and stunning realism. If you or someone with a disability that is interested in getting involved with flight simulations, the DCS 4 Disabilities Discord group is your next stop! This group can help adapt your controllers, write scripts to improve accessibility, and test ergonomic layouts. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics DCS Hotfix Development Progress Quick fixes based on your feedback This hotfix aims to resolve several issues that came to light following the last DCS update. Also, we have included a couple fixes for issues found earlier but we could squeeze in this hotfix with everything else. We have written a quick fix for high CPU load that occurs on the main menu and was observed and reported by the community after the last update. We have also included Quick Action Generator changes such as a "Random" skill level to Al and a fix for missions not regenerated even when the "regenerate" button is pressed. We solved a couple more long-standing issues and added them to this update; problems with track replays not saving properly and an infantry disembarkment issue when a mission is running on a dedicated server. Finally, issues with the multiplayer scoreboard not updating properly has also been resolved. F4U-1D Corsair Development Progress Since 2017, Magnitude 3 LLC has dedicated immense effort to bring this iconic World War II fighter to DCS. It played a pivotal role in the Pacific Theater of Operations (PTO), and it became a symbol of aerial prowess thanks to its speed, climb rate, and toughness. It even had a smaller role in the European Theater of Operations. Developing this module has proven more challenging than the Magnitude team anticipated. The Corsair's unusual design was revolutionary for its time, and its flight dynamics are complex. The combination of a powerful engine and huge propeller; its distinctive gull wings; large flaps; and its robust landing gear that also acted as an airbrake created a challenge in airflow dynamics and handling characteristics. We Solved It “While perfection is an elusive goal, we do not claim our Flight Model (FM) to be flawless; we acknowledge that there is always room for further refinement and improvements. However, the current FM has been thoroughly validated and closely mirrors the real aircraft's behavior, surpassing the realism of any previous Corsair FM developed for flight simulators.” - Magnitude 3 LLC It Only Gets Better “Currently, we have a few remaining items on our development list for the module. For example, the implementation of the "Bat Bomb" (ASM-N-2 Bat), for which the initial implementation is complete. Further work will ensure its seamless integration into the DCS environment.” - Magnitude 3 LLC Key Features in Early Access: High-quality external 3D model Fully clickable cockpit with 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DoF) and the latest visual effects Flight Dynamics based on official reports, CFD research, and pilot feedback Engine and propeller control systems Fuel system and optional external tanks Electrical system Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Radio-navigation systems Structure-based damage model Carrier-capable aircraft Manual in English (PDF format) Early Access Weapons: 6 x 0.50-inch (12.7 mm) M2 Browning machine guns 8 x 5-inch (12.7 cm) High-Velocity Aircraft Rockets (HVAR) External fuel tanks and bombs up to 4,000 lb (1,800 kg) To enhance the Corsair experience, Magnitude 3 LLC will include an Essex-class aircraft carrier. This ship class was a pivotal PTO component of U.S. naval power, and it was one of the most numerous capital ship classes of the 20th century. Of the 24 Essex-class carriers built, none were lost to enemy action, although several sustained significant battle damage. These carriers were veritable fortresses at sea that could carry approximately 90 aircraft on their armored hull and decks. It was also equipped with numerous weapons. In our version of the Essex, you will get: 4 x 127mm single cannons 4 x 127mm twin cannons 17 x 40mm Bofors guns 20 x 20mm twin Oerlikon guns 50 x 20mm single Oerlikon guns Magnitude 3 will also introduce eight Imperial Japanese ground units that includes trucks, anti-aircraft artillery, and tanks. These will be a fantastic addition to the upcoming, free, Mariana Islands World War II map. The AI Corsair, Essex-class aircraft carrier, and Imperial Japanese ground units will be available for all DCS players to ensure singleplayer and multiplayer compatibility. “As we near this significant milestone, we wish to convey our deepest appreciation for your remarkable support and enduring patience throughout these dedicated years. This project, without question, represents the longest and most demanding endeavor we have pursued within the DCS environment.” – Magnitude 3 LLC DCS x PIMAX Interview Pimax and Eagle Dynamics senior producer Matt “Wags” Wagner discusses how virtual reality is reshaping flight simulation, what goes into bringing DCS aircraft to life in VR, and their thoughts on the history, current state, and future of VR in DCS. Watch the full interview. DCS 4 Disabilities Community Highlight Among the many squadrons that fill the DCS virtual skies, few are as remarkable as DCS 4 Disabilities. This volunteer-run group began with a single wish: To make the cockpit feel welcoming to aviators whose bodies ask a little more patience from them. Their Discord has become a place where veterans with chronic pain, pilots who can fly only short stints, and newcomers who need adapted controls, trade tips, swap mission files, and share laughs. Today, we want to share one of their brightest stories. Lars, callsign Yoda, is a Swiss law student with severely restricted upper-body movement. For months he relied on a friend to act as his co-pilot and wear a head-tracker while he managed radios, weapons, and checklists. But the dream of looking around his cockpit never faded. When VR proved impractical, the group’s search led to Tobii eye-tracking. With it, Yoda’s gaze now translates into fluid head motion, freeing him to scan for bandits and lean into the turn as any other virtual fighter pilot. DCS 4 Disabilities is gathering footage of Yoda’s setup for a forthcoming YouTube series to inspire and spread awareness about accessibility in DCS. What began as a handful of determined fliers is fast becoming a beacon for accessible simulation. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

23 May 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, The recently added Quick Action Generator (QAG), allows players to easily construct simple missions based on the choice of aircraft, map, and mission. The QAG is not designed to replace the Mission Editor, but rather to provide a tool for players to construct simple missions without wading into the powerful, yet complex, Mission Editor. Please download the latest update to give it a go. We look forward to getting your feedback and to improving the experience and functionality. This month’s update provides several quality-of-life improvements. Our Terrain engine received several RAM and file handling speed optimizations. DLSS got updated to version 310.2.1.0 with all related improvements from it. We’ve also improved Voice Chat connection stability and did several aircraft AI fixes. For all tweaks you may read the full changelog. The VIRPIL Controls BFM Cup is a weekend-based guns-only dogfight tournament held over the Caucasus map that is open to nine fighters. Register at virpil-servers.com for a chance to win a VIRPIL FLNKR grip, store credit, and a DCS module. Hurry, sign-ups close soon! Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Quick Action Generator Overhauled feature One of the main barriers for new DCS pilots is creating gameplay content. Although the Mission Editor is very powerful, it can be complex and time-consuming to learn. To mitigate this, the QAG offers a convenient and quick way to generate simple missions based on a few, simple selections. It allows players to experiment with all DCS aircraft, across all eras and maps, over a variety of mission types. Quick Action Generator Key Features Rapid and simple content generation compared to the Mission Editor. Capability to construct missions based on all your DCS aircraft and maps with a high degree of mission customization. Supports World War II era to modern day. Scale missions from just a couple of aircraft to multiple flights and ground force groups. Aircraft, ground units, and ships can be sorted into groups based on their historical era. Manually select enemy and allied aircraft and set them as targets and supporting flights. Option to modify and select aircraft loadouts. Ability to change and select aircraft liveries. User Interface built upon the F10 map to facilitate unit placements. Optimised AI behavior for all difficulty levels. Adjust the location and orientation of forces on the QAG map. Option to add and remove air, land, and sea targets: Configuring up to 4 (four) aircraft in a flight. Set distance, altitude, and loadout options. Add escort flights for appropriate Missions. Add air defenses to protect targets. Add or remove wingmen and set their skill level. On first launch the generator loads the last map and aircraft used. Formations assignments for flights of up to four units, both allied and enemy. The QAG adds a new capability for DCS that is aimed at both new DCS players to generate unlimited content, but also provide a tool for veteran players to test new tactics, try out new sensors and weapons, and practice before entering a match. We look forward to your valuable feedback. DCS Update Development Progress DCS Core We continue to improve mission loading and performance in both 2D and VR thanks to improved asset loading from memory. Several visual issues have been addressed. DLSS has been updated to version 310.2.1.0, and voice-chat client-server architecture was improved for better connection stability. Aircraft Al behaviour got updated for tankers to be able to fly at lower speeds and tweaks for cases where formation losing leader or wingmen, and JTAC messages now include a wider range of weapons. Please read the full changelog. Data Transfer Cartridge The DTC interface received an update that fixes crashes tied to custom CMDS files, track-replay corruption, and mismatched countermeasure parameters. Default profiles now load reliably, COMM presets respect guard frequencies, the tool now sits beneath other UI layers, and it can be closed with the Esc. key. Eagle Dynamics Modules This update saw F/A-18C SA and AUTO EW-page options corrected, TWS HOTAS azimuth selection quirks have been fixed, and adjustments were made to the HMD cross for wide-angle VR users. F-16C improvements include a number of radar adjustments, saving targeting pod contrast when leaving the TGP page, and several CMDS and COMM fixes. AH-64D saw fixes to FUEL CHECK alignment, FCR stowage, HMD cue projections, and auxiliary tanks. The CH-47F benefited from cold-weather engine tuning, reduced IR signatures, corrected rotor parking and new liveries for Spain, Iran, South Korea and Canada. The F-5E beacon lights now illuminate correctly. Third-Party Modules JF-17 Thunder received radar logic improvements, refreshed MFCD HPT data, and progress on the new TWS EXP mode. The Cold War Germany Map received improved power-lines, corrected taxiways, refined icon placement, and radio/beacon frequencies and model error fixes. Additionally, helipads are now tree-free and route/resource optimisations have been made to improve frame-time consistency across the battlefield. 1v1 Gun only Showdown VIRPIL Controls BFM Cup This 1v1 BFM Cup is hosted by VIRPIL Controls, along with support from the DCS Dogfighters and the Virtual Pilot communities. 16 May 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, The pre–purchase for the extraordinary DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum is now live with 30% off. A study-level, 4th generation Russian fighter has long been sought by DCS pilots, and our MiG-29A is being developed to the highest degree of authenticity with external and cockpit models, systems, flight model, weapons, and sensors replicated to what we believe will set a high standard for DCS. The MiG-29A excels as an interceptor and particularly as a within-visual-range fighter. The aircraft benefits from exceptional flight performance, and the combination of the “Archer” R-73 high off-boresight air-to-air missile with its helmet-mounted sight (HMS) makes it hard to beat in a knife fight. We are delighted to bring this amazing aircraft to DCS. Please check out the Pre-Order Trailer. Enjoy! Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics MiG-29A Fulcrum Pre-purchase The MiG-29A remains one of the most famous fighters in the world due to its outstanding performance characteristics, reliability, and simplicity of the weapons systems. It is capable of performing high-alpha manoeuvres that make it deadly in close air combat. In addition to the R-73 and HMS, the MiG-29A is also armed with medium-range radar-guided missiles, a 30mm cannon, and unguided bombs and rockets. The Mikoyan MiG-29A has been operated by 39 air forces since its introduction in the 1980s, and approximately 100 are still in service. Key Features: Early Access features Fully interactive and highly detailed cockpit based on 3D laser scanning and photogrammetry. Highly detailed and accurately reproduced external model. Highly detailed pilot model with HMS. In-depth modelling of aircraft systems and equipment. Navigation System modes: POINT-TO-POINT mode for flying along a given route and flying to a programmed point; RETURN mode for performing a return to one of the three programmed airfields; LANDING mode for landing at both programmed and non-programmed airfields; and TRAFFIC RE-ENTRY mode for performing a re-approach to a programmed airfield in case of go around. Detailed model of the Gyro Systems with Fast and Long Alignment modes and onboard navigation equipment. The ability to program three airfields, three RSBN radio navigation beacons, and three navigation points during the mission creation phase and while flying the mission. Realistic modelling of the SPO-15LM “Beryoza” radar warning receiver and flare dispenser system. Fire Control Radar (FCR) with search and tracking modes for air targets that includes HEAD ON, PURSUIT, AUTOMAT, TWF and CLOSE COMBAT modes. Infrared Search and Track (IRST) and Laser Range Finder (LRF) with modes for air targets: INFRARED (IR), CLOSE COMBAT, HELMET, OPTICAL (OPT) and Boresight. LRF can be used to measure target range with automatic IRST tracking. LRF can also be used to measure slant range for ground attacks. Ground attack modes that include Pre-Designate OPT for use with moving targets and in windy conditions; Non-Pre designate OPT for use with stationary targets and in calm conditions; and TOSS when bombing is conducted with a 110-130 degree pitch angle. In order to expand the combat capabilities for a covert attack on an aerial target and counter electronic countermeasures, the interaction of the FCR and IRSTS/LRF has been modelled. The Kinematic Range Determination Method (KRDM) has been modelled for FCR and IRSTS/LRF. In the absence of target range data, this method provides precise range measurement. Basic Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) modelling. Early Access Guide. Interactive Training missions. Full Russian cockpit and localisation of avionics, cockpit and technical inscriptions in English. At Final Release: Ground Control Intercept (GCI) command system. Full IFF modelling. Full Flight Manual. Campaign by Eagle Dynamics. Increased number of missions and liveries. Pre-Purchase Today! Don’t miss the exclusive 30% discount during the pre-purchase phase. Hurry! This offer only lasts until launch. Once released into early access, the discount will be reduced to 20% off. The DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum will be available on Steam at a later date. Available for a limited time at only $55.99 Pre-purchase. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Victory Day VE Day Celebration in Europe This week we recount the epic sight of Mustangs escorting bombers across the Rhine and P-47s at treetop level supporting ground forces. Allied combat aviation played a decisive role in hastening the peace in Europe. DCS warbirds such as the P-51D, Spitfire LF Mk IX, Mosquito FB IV, P‑47D Thunderbolt, Bf 109 K‑4, and Fw 190A and D battled each other in those final months to support their own forces and engage in the last, great dogfights over Europe. It is with great pride and honour that we are able to preserve them in DCS and in some way to relive this pivotal chapter in history. In memory of the machines, and the men and women who designed, built, maintained, and flew them, please join us in remembrance. Take to the DCS skies, and reflect on the real crews who placed their lives on the line. Their legacy lives on in every virtual mission you fly. DCS Campaigns Hotfix rollup update 2.9.15 This week’s patch is dedicated to updating several single‑player campaigns. Four of Reflected Simulations’ most popular campaigns received updates: Fear the Bones and Speed & Angels now display Tomcatter87’s corrected tanker skins, and both F‑4E campaigns add an automatic “flaps‑down” safety trigger. Progressive wear‑and‑tear and typo clean‑ups in Red Flag 81‑2 was included, and the F-16C Arctic Thunder campaign has been tuned with blue‑side airfields throughout. Baltic Dragon delivers quality‑of‑life fixes; Raven One: Dominant Fury sees its Knight I‑R prompt restored; The Enemy Within 3.0 AI‑helicopter landing logic and debrief music is fixed. The Rampagers campaign received a comprehensive review of deck winds, scoring, tanker cues, subtitle timing, and livery accuracy across nine missions. Badger633 has added a Data Transfer Cartridge notes to every Operation Green Line mission, and missions 1 to 7 and 9 to 13 in the Rise of the Persian Lion 2 campaign. Finally, SorelRo’s Hormuz Freedom swaps in Heatblur’s new F‑4E for the IRIAF, refreshes voice‑overs, and improves AI trigger logic. Please download the update to enjoy all these important changes. Currenthill is well known in the DCS community for his excellent mod packs and these AI assets will be added to the Core engine free for all of you to enjoy. A huge amount of work has gone into integrating the assets; creating Levels of Detail; generating IR textures; adding desert, woodland and winter textures; creating damaged and destroyed models, and more. In parallel, we are creating new weapons like the Iskander, ATACMS, and IRIS-T SLM missiles to support these new assets. Some assets will also add new capabilities such as the IRIS-T surface to air missile system that features active radar-guidance paired with infrared-guidance; this makes it a deadly adversary. This first set of Currenthill assets will include the FV101 and the lightweight FV107 armoured vehicle for your South Atlantic missions; the Tor M2 and Pantsir S1 for short range and air defense systems; and enhanced Russian Main Battle Tanks (MBT) like the T-90A and T-90M. The M-ATV, M1083 tactical truck, and M1130 command vehicle will also be included for your Mid-East missions. For your European theatre missions, you’ll have a diverse range of new assets such as the Project 22160 Patrol Ship and air assets including the Mi-28N attack helicopter and the Tu-95MS bomber equipped with Kh-101 cruise missiles. For ground operations, you'll gain access to the BMPT Terminator IFV, the TOS-1A multiple rocket launcher, the 9K720 Iskander short range ballistic missile, the T-84 Oplot-M, and the T-64BV MBTs. Additionally, the modern IRIS-T SLM medium-range SAM and the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) that features both Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) and Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) will also be at your disposal. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Cold War Germany Available now No other location better exemplified the Cold War between NATO and Warsaw Pact forces than the “Iron Curtain” separating East and West Germany in the 1980s. Massive forces were arrayed on both sides of this heavily fortified frontier that witnessed so much for so many years. Ugra-Media has recreated this pivotal “what if” scenario with a level of excellence and detail far greater than ever before. This 980x800 km map includes the varied terrain of the rolling hills of southern Germany, the flat northern European plains that served as the corridor to countless historical battles, and the coastlines of the Baltic Sea. The low-level terrain detail makes this map a must have for attack aircraft and helicopter pilots who just love flying at tree-top height. DCS Update Development Progress DCS Core We have released the initial version of Data Transfer Cartridge (DTC) that supports custom countermeasure programs and radio presets for the F/A-18C and F-16C. DTC files can be created by single player and multiplayer pilots prior to entering a mission from the Briefing Window. Future updates will expand DTC functionality to include navigation, targeting, datalink, weapon settings, and much more. Additional development for the AH-64D and A-10C II is in the pipeline. DTC files can also be saved and shared between missions and even your friends. Please check out this helpful quick start guide and video, Additionally, when you have created your own DTC file, you can share via User Files under DTC Profiles. The Mission Editor received a new zoom level for the map, making fine-tuning small assets more convenient and precise. Several smaller GUI bugs were fixed and the German Democratic Republic (GDR) now has relevant units and liveries added. DCS version 2.9.15.9408 also includes new persistence support Scripting API functions which also work with the Mission Save feature with custom scripts. Additionally, more user feedback has prioritised our work on saving destroyed assets and waypoint parameters to the mission save file. This will be coming soon in a future update. Several AI specific behaviour problems were fixed and new JTAC voice lines for calling out weapon types were added. Furthermore, specific DCS Core optimisations for resource loading have been implemented, improving cockpit loading and boosting application startup speeds. Eagle Dynamics Modules This update refined many of our in‑house aircraft. As you know, the F‑16C gained early Data Transfer Cartridge support. Additionally, the aircraft received a raft of sensor fixes; from steadier TGP tracking to smoother radar and cursor handling. The F/A‑18C received the same initial DTC implementation, ejection logic fix, and a seeker‑cage correction. AH‑64D crews will notice smoother Cued‑LOS behaviour, air-data probe animation fix, and a less erratic George AI. Rotary fans also benefited from fresh Mi‑24P liveries, plus Mi‑8MTV2 tail-rotor animation and door‑gunner fixes. Black Shark 3’s vibration warning is audible again. F‑5E’s animations like glass damage discrepancies and command bindings were fixed, and the Yak‑52’s brakes, gear bindings, and AI patterns were corrected. Third‑Party Modules & Terrains Our partner developers also delivered some interesting enhancements. Deka’s JF‑17 sports a new SATAC skin, proper brake‑chute logic, and toned‑down radar effects on RWR. Aerges has tuned the Mirage F1 with synchronized cockpit options, safer missile logic, and robust input commands, while AvioDev’s C‑101 flight director and lesson logic were fixed. Heatblur’s F‑4E introduced user‑made Jester mod support, a pneudraulics overhaul, audio refresh, and new training content; the F‑14 squashed audio‑stepping and afterburner‑lag bugs; and the AJS‑37 restores kneeboard data and all‑aspect RB‑74s. Heatblur Triumvirate Bundle Award‑winning studio Heatblur Simulations has bundled its entire DCS lineup into one spectacular offer: the TRIUMVIRATE PACK.
