  1. Thanks for the help guys much appreciated
  2. Yep the metro is right round the corner from the Northumbria flying school. The cost to park there would dwarf the flying costs.:D Fine... when they let me loose I'll do a touch and go.... just keep your head down :music_whistling:  But seriously I'm doing a few circuit's there so probably get over there in a little while. Oh and they've just swapped my plane round to a Cessna 152. It's so small you could flip it with a desk fan :D
  3. I'm kinda worried about the maths involved but with practice I hope it will come eventually. As for the radio's I'm crap at speaking; emm err hmm, so I hope that comes with practice too. Will do... Tnx guys much apreciated  PS. would rep but can't.

    PPL Tips?

Hi all... I'm about to start my PPL (God help the NE of England:D) at Newcastle airport :pilotfly: I'd just like to ask if anyone has any tips in regards to A: not killing myself :music_whistling: B: getting through it. I've had a couple hour's experience, a while back, in a Cessna 152 but not in an actual lesson, more of a sightseeing tour with an instructor, with me at the controls. We sure got a good look of the stewards setting up for Newcastle v Everton :D Also, I'm training on the Piper PA-28-161 Warrior so has anyone got any experience with this aircraft? I hear it's very stable and quite easy to land.
  5. I'm bored stiff... might as well.
  6. Awesome flying!!! I told you other people can fly a lot better than me! how the hell did you get through that oil rig???????? who is that at 1:48 ? come on own up! :D And If anyone want's to try it out, the missions in the OP.
  7. Everyone's a critic :) Seriously not cut at all. Here's the track to prove it. Vally run.trk
  8. You can tell I have no life  Not exactly 'amazing'... I'm sure others can do that better then me. And get under that bridge I missed :smilewink:
  9. 4 campaigns.... 1st one is the closest to a 'story'
  10. Lol that would be awesome :pilotfly:
  11. Thanks guy's much appreciated
  12. A low level run through the mountains to stay hidden from, and kill an S-3 (S-125) SAM system at the end of the valley, calling for some 'unorthadox' flying, with full rudder deflexion power slide included :) Also a good demonstration of TrackIR Aiding in keeping the wings of the A-10 securely fastened. Keep an eye on the radar altimeter on the top line of the waypoint info at the right side of the HUD. 0 means your dead :) Basically what's in the description. I'f anyone wants to try it out the files' at the bottom. low flying.miz
  13. So you going to update and stick with the 135? Or make a KC-10 model? or has the current KC-135's in-game already got the abillity of those pods?
  14. Tanker: Bravo Charley Rodger, this is tanker, are you male or female? Pilot: [Women's voice] Tanker, this is Bravo Charley Rodger, Male. Tanker: I won't go on any late nights with you then! :P :D
  15. That's the big one and it is the size of a small country;)
  16. Nice vid of a harrier low flying and practice bombing run in Scotland with commentary by the pilot.
  17. I'd say that flares are more use in helping to stop a ir SAM system locking on to the aircraft releasing them. You've seen on the A to A training mission how the TGT pod locks on to the flares released by the SU-25's. I'm not saying flares are 'useless' against modern ir missiles, but manoeuvres make by the pilot himself are probably the thing that will save him. Again.... pilot needed to confirm....
  18. Yep = second post. Newer missiles remember the aircraft's ir 'footprint', and so anything that hasn't got the same shape is disgarded. Also, the addition of UV aswel as ir means that the 'blind spot' of an extreem ir producing object, is elimanated.
  19. Well, stick it in the wish list and you never know. I'f its not already modeled.
  20. Ah yer.. defiantly would help to stop actual lock on.... but is it modelled in sim?
  21. As for the question, in real life, the older sidewinders only used ir to track their targets, however, newer ir missiles use a dual seeker, i believe, which is ir and uv to track the targets, and will not lock on to the sun. Also, Some missiles can memorize an ir 'shape' of the target aircraft, so that a the large ball of ir energy from the sun won't fool its seeker. Please correct me if i'm wrong! :music_whistling:
  22. We not good enough for you? :D
  23. Em images no work. :music_whistling:
  24. According to this... they do it in the start up procedure on the ramp
