Thanks. We'll check it. But I can not understand where you got the new sounds of F16? they should not be in brunch :)
-
Heroes of Might&Magic III forever !!! :megalol: And I can repeat it again: if you think that any sounds are wrong, based not on your opinion, but on any good quality sources - give us these sources, and if they outweigh ours, we will fix it.
-
How many people - so many opinions) But, as I said, we can not make a sound, as someone like. We are doing as close to reality as possible. It's obvious to me that the new sound is much closer to the real recordings that I have. And it is much nicer to my ears, although it does not matter ;) New Sound: https://yadi.sk/d/dP4Y4w955-dNCw Old Sound: https://yadi.sk/d/ZgI5rrgydVdNpQ

In this case it's not so easy. You can try to replace from prev version of dcs following files: /LockOnExe/Sounds/Sounders/Aircraft/Engines/Engine.lua /LockOnExe/Sounds/Sounders/Aircraft/Engines/TF34.lua /LockOnExe/Sounds/Effects/Aircrafts/Engines/EngineTF34GE100InL.wav /LockOnExe/Sounds/Effects/Aircrafts/Engines/EngineTF34GE100InR.wav /LockOnExe/Sounds/sdef/Aircrafts/Engines/EngineTF34GE100InL.sdef /LockOnExe/Sounds/sdef/Aircrafts/Engines/EngineTF34GE100InR.sdef I hope this will help for you

Sonic Boom and external view fade-in should be in 2.5.5 version. As far as I know, for technical reasons, the update is delayed
-
Just revert DCS to those version you want to. You can't revert only sounds. We implemented fade-in feature, you can adjust volume fade-in time in Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/Config/autoexec.cfg file. Add a line: sound.world_fadein_time = 4 By default, fade-in time is 4 seconds. If your version of the game does not have this feature, please be patient. It will appear in the next updates.

Well, Maybe it's a really good idea ;) When I finish the work with FW190A8 and F-16, let's try this for .... F-86 for example ) I'll create the thread on the forum. And we'll update the sounds for this old module as free time appears. Sorry, I don't have it at all now. you are mistaken, considering that we do not do that. There are standard framework in the SDK already. And we do not stand still. SDK always updated for 3rd party devs as they ask. And sound engine always updated. For quite a long time for each aircraft you can replace almost all sounds separately. Even if they are in the main folder of sounds. It is enough to place the sounds (and sdefs) in the folder of a specific aircraft with the same name (for example ...\LockOnExe\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\F-16\ and ...\LockOnExe\Sounds\sdef\Aircrafts\F-16\). And they will be used instead of default

When you talk about bad sound in DCC modules, please specify which modules you are talking about. We have many third-party modules, such as F14, which the DCS cannot change. Write specifically to the forum thread of the developer, which module do you have in mind. With regards to the DCS modules - some were made several years ago. Therefore, I agree, the sounds are outdated in places and require updating. We update the sounds constantly, but there are already a lot of modules and there is not always enough time for it. Because we constantly make new modules. But please understand us - we simply do not have access to most of the aircraft. We can not record their sounds. We try to reproduce the real picture from the records on YouTube and the feedback from the pilots. The newer the module, the more technology is involved and the sound is better. You can see it on the example of the Yak-52, F-18 and in the near future I am sure you will like the sound of the FW190A8 and F16. On which all free time is now spent. Also, user assistance always helps us. If you consider any of the modules that are outdated in sound, we need to urgently update, please contact me, Refine your request with links to video-audio materials. And we will try to do better immediately, as soon as free time appears. Many thanks.

 For you it's too loud, for AC5 it's too quiet. Well....again, please only references and compares. -
Low quality of engine sound after update to DCS 2.5.4.26552
btd replied to VanZan's topic in Sound Bugs
Hello, I have provided a reference video. You give me only your words. We can not change the sound picture as someone from the users wants. We make sound the way it should be in real life. If you have other reference video or audio recordings indicating that the sound is not correct - please provide and we will fix it. We cannot change anything from your words. According to our current references, the turbine is really faint in flight. Please provide reference audio or video where the turbine is heard well in the cockpit. Compare with you version, maybe you don't have the latest updates. You can try "Hear like in helmet" option. Perhaps it would be better to hear the turbine. That's what I have at the moment (in a helmet): https://yadi.sk/d/bWzYlfb3LhK4bA Without this option: https://yadi.sk/d/WUgEtPqbsZII0g It is the record of the cockpit sound in the air after takeoff. Of course, if the speed is high, then the sound of the wind will increase You can always revert your DCS to the version you like and dont't get the updates. -
Low quality of engine sound after update to DCS 2.5.4.26552
btd replied to VanZan's topic in Sound Bugs
I can not confidently say whether the sound fix got into the update. Maybe it will be in next one. But I can say for sure that there will be no old sounds. Perhaps for you they are perfect. But we always try to get closer to the real sound, regardless of whether it is perfect. That's why we are respected and appreciated. We are moving forward, getting new information and trying to do better in accordance with it. If you have any real good quality recordings with which we can improve something, please share them. You can always keep the sounds from the old versions. -
Changes: by default Ctrl+S. If this combination is used - then LWin+S
-
It should be earlier or at the same time. But I can not say exactly.
-
"sound on/off" keybinding added to all our planes. By default it's LCtrl+S, but BF109 - LShift+LCtrl+S, and P51 and TF51 - LCtrl+LAlt+S Please wait for update
-
The sound will stay at the same level. It will keep staying high after the first fade-in.
-
Not reproducible. We have no sounds with these names, and we have no reference to sounds with these names. It looks like 3d-party sound mod errors.
-
Fade-In implemented. Please wait for the nearest updates. When you get it, you can configure Fade-in time in ...LockOnExe\Config\sound.lua For now, there is a default value: "sound.world_fadein_time = 4". Change it as you wish. "Auto-mute" - I dont think it's a good idea. But I'll made a request to add "sound on/off" to all our planes.
-
Sorry it didn't work out. We can't make a separate control for the volume of the outside world in the cockpit. Otherwise, we will get a new bug with zero volume slider of the outside world: when the cockpit is closed, we hear the sound from the "world", and when open - we will not hear it. Moreover, if you think about it, the volume control of the outside world in the cockpit - can be attributed to the cheat in the game.
-
Thanks, I will convey your thoughts to our sound engine programmer. It might work.

Low quality of engine sound after update to DCS 2.5.4.26552

The sound and dynamics of its change from speed is changed. Please wait for the next update. -

In the near future, a volume fade-in will be made when switching from the cockpit to the external view. The volume outside will remain the same. But the expense of a smooth increase in volume during the transition will not stun so much. And also you can quickly roll the camera away from the plane to an acceptable volume level for you.
-
But in real life, think otherwise? there will be 10 times louder outside :) In the near future, a volume fade-in will be made when switching from the cockpit to the external view. Sorry, but the volume outside will remain the same. But the expense of a smooth increase in volume during the transition will not stun so much. And also you can quickly roll the camera away from the plane to an acceptable volume level for you. And you can always lower the volume of the external view sounds in the settings.
-
Unfortunately, I can not say with certainty when this update will be in the user version. But I think that very soon. Please be patient :)

it is rather a bug specifically in the volume of certain sounds in the F14 module. In other models there is no such problem. It may be worthwhile to write specifically to the F14 branch so that third-party developers reduce the volume of the switches in the cockpit.
