  1. You would be able to do that same configuration. Here's a video explaining how to set up the upcoming version of DCS VC Server (It's not searchable yet so you'll have to go directly to the link) As far as uninstalling, it's not super easy. There are some manual steps, but the instructions are in the FAQ point 6 here: http://bit-shift.com/a10vcserver/index.html#faq iControl DCS does work on iOS 7, however there's a known problem with the manual server entry dialogs. Generally you won't need this since auto discovery works for just about everyone :) If you're wanting to use it on iOS feel free to try the free version linked in my sig first!
  2. Unless you can get the Google Play store and Google Play services on the Kindle Fire then it won't be available at initial launch, sorry :(
  3. I need one or two people to help test in-app billing on the Google Play store. You'll need a device running Android 4.0+ with the Play Store installed. FYI, you'll be able to purchase pieces separately. If you only want to use the CDU, you can get that. If you only want to use the UFC and MFCDs, you can get just that. This test is the last thing before we launch. If all goes well, I expect to launch in the next week or two! If you meet the criteria above and want a sneak peek at what's coming very soon - let me know!
  4. No, there's no performance advantage to using a virtual monitor. There would also be no advantage to using a second video card since the sim has to run in windowed mode which will disable Crossfire or SLI - assuming they're the same card. If they're not then it won't do any good at all. The easiest way to get stuff set up would be using a second physical monitor attached to the same video card as your primary monitor. If you wanted to use the virtual display that's an option too but I don't support it and I believe it won't work with Windows 8 since they changed what drivers can do as far as making software displays. Anyway, I highly suggest you try out the free app first and make sure it works well for you before taking the plunge on the paid version. GL and Happy Flying :pilotfly: If you need any help let me know @ support.bit-shift.com
  5. It's true that there would be a larger potential user base, there is some functionality that I'm using that's not available pre-4.0. On top of that, devices that run 4.0 will be faster and the experience will be better with the faster devices. So right now, when it's first available it'll only be for devices that run 4.0 or higher. As I expand features and bring the Android app up to par with the iOS app, I'll take a look at allowing older devices to run it as well so it's not out of the question ever, just not right away! :)
  6. Helios and iControl DCS both use their own graphics to represent the controls and gauges other than exports of things like the CDU and MFCDs which are 2D surfaces that can be exported. You'd have to set up something like that afaik.
  7. Another update - UFC, MFCDs, CDU - They're all done. New server coming that will make setup and configuration much easier. Right now I'm fighting with Google Play In-App Billing. Hoping to have something in the store by the end of the month!
  8. That wouldn't be possible since the TrackIR changes the viewport and you can't export a static section of the 3D view anywhere.
  9. If you're interested in participating in the beta, please sign up here http://bit.ly/13w1G7w This will be a lot easier for me to keep track of.
  10. I filled out an application to get a dev kit and never heard from them. We'll see what happens when they release, but it definitely seems intriguing. I'm having a hard time believing that it'll work in a way that's actually functional enough to be able to press buttons like you'd want to given the 3D space and no real visual cue as to where anything is in the cockpit but it'd be interesting to play with either way. At the very least you could make some fairly complex gestures that made it feel somewhat like you were touching stuff.
  11. If you have a look at the video here Way on the left side of the furthest left monitor you'll see the MFCDs are repeated. They have to be exported that way in order for me to grab them and display them on the iPad. ED doesn't give us any other way to get that data, unfortunately. If you're using Windows 7, lots of people have had success creating a virtual (fake) display that you can export everything to and it won't show up on a monitor. Otherwise you can just stick them on the extreme corners of your real monitors. And as always, feel free to try out A-10 VC Free before you buy iControl DCS. It'll give you a feel for how it works. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/a10-virtual-cockpit-free/id484354291
  12. Tell ya what, you do my taxes and I'll release the Android version some time this year
  13. Thanks! Always love seeing this stuff. Glad you're enjoying it! :)
  14. Sent a couple PMs tonight. If you didn't get one, hang in there. I'll add more people as it gets closer to being a product rather than a tech demo :)
  15. I'm going to need a few beta testers soonish. I think I'm going to plan on launching this without the full feature set that the iPad app has to get the ball rolling. Will probably just do MFCDs, CDU, and UFC. Basically most of the stuff that doesn't involve swtiches or knobs :) To start I think this is only going to support tablets, but we'll see. I don't have an android phone device to test on so it's difficult to know if things will work on a small screen. Emulators can't really show you how easy or hard it is to actually hit a touch target. If you're interested in beta testing let me know including what kind of device you have and what version of Android it's running.
  16. More data needs more bandwidth, needs more processing power to decode/display. If you have the latest iPad, a high end multi-core CPU, and a very strong 802.11n wifi network, it might work just fine for you. The default settings are just a decent starting point that trades off between performance, bandwidth, and visual fidelity to give most people a (hopefully) pretty good experience. Using a 95 compression quality (you can set it under the other menu option in display config) with 600x600 MFCDs is going to look pretty darn good, but it's also going to use a ton of bandwidth and a not insignificant amount of CPU on both the iPad and PC.
  17. That definitely shouldn't be happening. The MP fix with the 1.0.0.4 version of the server was just a one line LUA fix that shouldn't affect any of the networking stuff.
  18. There's no audio in the app, however you should be able to audibly hear the switches toggling in-sim (I think?? My video card is trashed right now and I can't check. Been a while since I played, too!) I hear you about swiping to navigate. It's something I'll be looking at in a future update. It was a good idea in theory, bad idea in practice, and it's not something that's easy to just add a menu to with the way the application is structured at the moment. Anyway, glad you're liking it overall! Always appreciate App Store reviews from anyone who wants to give them ;)
  19. There's a new version of the server available that fixes the multiplayer respawn issue. Grab it from the site!
  20. It's likely that the Huey will be next on the list after I finish the project I'm working on now. What's the android app? Always good to see what else is out there :)
  21. Yep! So easy it's hard? :smilewink:
  22. Here's a teaser for you all. Still no promises that this will ever see the light of day, but things are looking up!
  23. The easiest way would be to go back into the A-10 VC Server display configuration and disable it from there when you don't want to use it. Otherwise you'll have to do some hand editing of lua files.
  24. It's supported on any generation iPad. The live displays will run quite a bit faster on the iPad 2 or later just because it's got more horsepower to spare but a first gen iPad will still get the job done!
