  1. Especially for HiJack. :) Keep in mind this was just a rough attempt and please forgive the nasty takeoff roll. I had to watch the stopwatch on my desk to try to stay within the time frames of the real video. Recorded using current internal build with the aircraft set as Civilian (no guns, ammo, and hard points), 20% fuel, 50" MP, prop full Increase.
  2. Just did a rough test in our internal build using 20% fuel and it's no problem hitting these numbers even at 50" MP. Will try to make a video of it.
  3. We also don't know his fuel load. Probably safe to assume a very low fuel load for a solo display.
  4. We'll set the target P-51s to a lower speed for the next update.
  5. Another one that may be of interest, starting at 2:44:
  6. Not sure if this video has been posted already, but it's an interesting perspective on the takeoff roll. You can clearly see the torque pulling the tail off the center line and constant work on the rudder during the roll. Wonder what his MP setting was - the tail came up pretty quickly. Takeoff roll at 3:15:
  7. The trim model was not yet finalized in the beta releases. Working correctly internally now and should be added in the next public release.
  8. Hmm, think you might be confused. Rudder trim should indeed be set right.
  9. Thank you for the positive feedback. We do plan to include a few additional training missions for the final release.
  10. Unfortunately I don't have the make and model of the table. It was used by my younger brother for a few years before it got "passed up" to me. It's about 28x47 inches (plus a few extra for the top shelves, which hang out to the sides further than the bottom levels). To be fair, my HOTAS Warthog had lived through a few trade shows and some air travel, though always as carry on.
  11. It's a Blue "Snowball" desktop mic. Or, a portal opener into the other dimensions.
  12. Just sharing my little table project to add supports for side throttle and stick placement that slide out from under the table for flying and back in when not in use.
  13. Please post a track of your flight so we can see what was happening. To save a track, you can run the training mission out of the Missions menu or directly from the Mission Editor. Navigate to the Mods folder of the install to find the P-51 missions.
  14. You can just attach it directly to the post. Use the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of the post window. You'll see an option there to add attachments (paper clip icon).
  15. It should be working. A track of your flight would help. To save a track, launch the mission either from the missions menu or the mission editor.
  16. The guns are mounted to converge on a "zone" instead of a single point, so they fire in parallel on each wing, but with slight vertical offset. The idea is to cover the convergence zone with bullets so as to increase the coverage volume over an aircraft at the convergence range.
  17. Not sure we will have a GUI for this, so may need to alter that FAQ entry. In LUA, however, it is here: \x\Config\Weapons\aircraft_guns.lua
  18. You can try to run the training missions directly using the Missions menu. Just navigate to \x\mods\aircrafts\P-51D\missions\training\en
  19. That's correct. However, the convergence isn't set for a single point, but to cover a small area at the convergence range, so as to maximize the probability of hits at that range.
  20. Regarding the powerful torque effects seen when changing power settings at low speeds, I came across this article early in DCS Mustang development, which discusses this issue and the devastating effects in can have when mismanaged: http://www.avweb.com/news/pelican/pelicans_perch_87_killer_go-arounds_195755-1.html It's a long write-up, so to summarize - the evidence suggests that the pilot came down too hard on landing and abruptly increased power, probably intending to go around. However the burst of power at low speed flipped the aircraft over and landed it upside down, sadly killing the pilot. Another site that talks about the same accident quotes Jeffery Ethell, himself a well known warbird pilot and aviation historian (killed in 1997 flying a P-38 ) saying this: "...the most challenging part of flying the P-51 is a balked landing go-around. Pushing the throttle forward with gear and flaps down at low speed is just like losing an engine in a high-powered twin. There is a real minimum control speed (Vmc in twins) at which the aircraft will roll over on its back unless power is reduced or airspeed increased."
