  1. What I ment is that ED could also let you fly with FC1 for several years more. I just wanted to point out to people that most of what can be seen in the track is nothing new, but thanks for the details. :)
  2. The only new thing I saw is the thrust to weight ratio being off, making it possible to do an insane tight turn. All the rest like the tail stand, the sudden jump up from a tail stand and the freezing like a brick was there from the very first LockOn version and will not be fixed in the FC2 patch eighter. That is just the standard flight model and all aircraft behave like that. It is quite pointless to doom ED for that now, as they are and will do an awesome job on the DCS aircraft series. Let's be happy ED is putting efford in to a basically outdated product.
  3. we are going to need your track to evaluate mate.....
  4. Yes, we must keep an eye on this guy because he is going to upload all kinds of archive stuff. Really awesome footage!
  5. Just some Russian friends ;)
  6. The Russian Patch was released a few days ago (on the official website). The patch install was not working though (LOL?), and the page is blank at the moment. In other words, the patch is coming soon.

    FPS Tweaks/MODs

Not possible to tweak this. There have been many complains about this on the forum. Rumours say that ED will work on some sort of fix in the upcoming patch for FC2. Read more about it here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=53307&highlight=fps+tv
  8. Thanks ShadowVonChadwick & Bucic, will take your findings into account for the next (non alpha) release.
  9. To come back on topic, I would like to say thanks too! ED delivered me tons of fun and enjoyment over the past 6+ years. Now, also in FC2 not everything is perfect and there are quite a few bugs, but heck, it keeps us (the community) well involved with modding and inproving and that again keeps ED providing updates. I wouldn't know what to do with a perfect sim! :D (it will end in the closet pretty quick I guess ;)). So, thanks ED, you are the best!
  10. Ah allright, nevermind then ;)
  11. When DCS:BS came out the LockOn forum was dead. Wait till the BS patch and it will live up again. Next to that, when "the new" is off from FC2, forum activity will equal again, till DCS:A10 :)
  12. If you are RED4, then i'm wondering why you say "It's do-able but pointless because you won't have the leader's calls"?
  13. No, it will be for free ;)
  14. In fact, this is all possible and what we use for long time already. It is called "Phantom Control" and yes, together with callouts. Read more about this here. Note: Phantom Control was developed for FC1.12 and is not working in FC2. We now have rewritten the program for FC2 and it is working, though still needs to go through some testing phases. Once finished, we will post it on the forum.
  15. Like Lawndart said, in simple words: Roll - Keep the bank angle lined up with the leader Pitch - Keep the altitude relative to the leader Yaw - Keep the distance relative to the leader Throttle - Keep the forward/backward position relative to the leader Now this sounds easy, though I have rarely seen a pilot able to stay stable in second wing position with less than 2 years of intensive training. The barrel is one of the most difficult maneuvers, as you indeed need all axes at the same time with all axes effecting eachother and, a leader changing it's flight path in all directions aswell.
  16. In DCS:BS there is (as far as I know) still not really an aerobatic team up to airshow level. Like the difference between flying an airplane and a helicopter, rotary aircraft are harder to fly and so, also in formation. In DCS:BS it is certainly possible to fly formation and to make an airshow similar to real helicopter aerobatic teams though, but I guess we have to wait for them to popup (for now, you only have some :D).

  18. Does anyone know how to add trees to the original scenery? Trees eat almost no FPS, so I would love to have more forests and trees around airbases and "empty" surfaces in BS/FC2. Any help greatly appreciated!
  19. Gun oil plastic on plastic = increased friction Gun oil metal on plastic = decreased friction It's just my experience from flying with X52 and X52Pro for 7 years.
  20. The gun oil I use (and my whole squadron btw) helps me from a notchy X52Pro for about 3 years now. Never had a problem. Please note, for the X52 (not the pro) you should not use gun oil but grease.
  21. Almost none....
  22. I understand the idea and it is interesting, but at the same time rather pointless. What needs to be done (and can be done) is to have a really good filtering or dampening of external sounds inside of the cockpit. If you have that, the comms will automaticly sound the way they should. Now, if you speak about comms from your fellow pilots over Teamspeak/Ventrilo using a second soundcard can be very interesting. What I always looked for is to make other pilots sound like speaking over real radio comms. There are programs out there which can do that, though I haven't found any ultra light program or plugin for TS/VT with good results........anyone?
  23. Most aerobatic teams fly quite a bit closer though :D :smilewink:
  24. Su-27 (09-04-2010) Diamond Training 1 Su-27 (09-04-2010) Diamond Training 2
  25. You are right about that, I'm simply not used to fly with the FD on. ;) I have tried all the other modes though, and found that aerobatic maneuvers are possible in every mode aswell as with all AP off. But as said, flying with Bank & Pitch hold on is the most convenient to me personally.
