Did you manage to assing it to the mini-Stick? I can still post my profile later on, when I get near my PC.

I've set mine up, so that the Mouse Stick on the throttle issues the trim commands with bands. That's how I do the trim now. It's cool and really already feels like second nature now. I would not assign one of the hats to trim, since you wanna be constantly trimming, no matter what mode you're in, IMHO. The mouse stick could of course also be used to replace any other 4-way hat... If you need help setting up the bands, I can give you my profile, it's for the X52 Pro.

Also keep in mind that there's different types of "physics" in those different kinds of "games". An action game (Crysis, Unreal Tournament, MW2) may actually get away with something that _looks_ like like believable physics. In this sim however, there's the actual physics as it happens in the real world with a lot of stuff going on that is difficult to acurately model using numerical methods. There's a reason, why there is one guy in the credits that did nothing else than "mathematical models of dynamics, ballistics ..." Also as has already been pointed out, anytime, something depends on another thing which in turn depends on another thing, things tend to get very hard to pry from each other, so they can be processed in a truly concurrent way, which is what we're looking for, when you want true multicore processing. Long story short: It is making a very complicated task even more complicated.

Correct procedure to change inventory after rearm?

That procedure is not implemented in the sim, I guess? -
Correct procedure to change inventory after rearm?
kungfoo replied to kungfoo's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Thanks a bunch, this works! Itried doing it with the inventory, which is kinda wrong. :D -
What is the correct procedure to change the inventory after a rearm with a different loadout? I managed to get the weapons changed, also online. some of them showed up in green, others (like JDAMs and WCMDs) stayed red, still they could be employed and hit them targets. I could however not find out how to create new profile for the new weapons? Say I had PGMs loaded on the first flight, then RTB, wanna go back with a few MK-82s. How can I properly create a profile for the MKs? How does one go about that?

These are freaking awesome! Thanks a bunch!!

But being really efficient with the cannon (read: Tanks and BMPs) while there's dangerous enemies firing back at you is not actually that easy anymore.

This is f*cking awesome!! Keep going! and +1 for Android, you'll reach so many devices with no vendor lock-in. And IMHO development for Android is much easier and less pain than for iPhone.

That's how I tried to keep track, but still I thought there might be a better way... Thanks for the tips!

I really think that marking targets first whenever you're entering an area and you don't get the targets designated is a good way to keep your head above water once the first pass is done and the shit starts to hit the fan. :D Now: How do you guys keep track of what has already been marked and stored into a flight plan, while looking around in the TGP? I found myself twice now accidentally dropping two JDAMs (can basically not happen with other weapons) on a BMP because I marked it twice while orbiting the area. Is there something, apart from very good eyes on the TGP and remembering how the target area looks, that will keep me from marking the thing twice? I figured I might stack the marks up into seperate flight plans by attack method and then go through them once or twice, slaving the TGP and checking that the same target is not marked twice. Still, keeping track is kinda tricky...

This is an iteresting sentence from the Wikipedia page: This means, that the convention only rules out "stupid" cluster bombs.

This was the first thing that I wondered about when I looked around the pit using TrackIR for the very first time. :D I was like, WTF, is this holding together something important? Can't be that. Thanks for clearing that up.

So, I found the tutorial on skinning the A10 by the 25th. Cool. I did me some editing and now am done with applying changes to the a-10c_def_1-a file. I subsequently saved it in photoshop as a 24bit windows *.bmp. Now I can't open that file in TheCompressonator to compress the texture and thus create a *.dds from it. What do I have to do, to get the file back into TheCompressonator and save it as a dds with Mips and compression?

At least I brought her back in (almost) one piece.

Sadly I don't have a track. Was pretty wild anyways, you wouldn't wanna see. :D Mower: Those did not get home, though. ;) -

This is great. Will try and memorize.

Happened to me once too during takeoff. I figured it was a random failure...

Thanks, I did see matts video on YouTube (found it googling around) However, the fact that the a10 is slow might not give the gbus enough energy and thus time to make this work.

Back in the old days (i.e. Falcon 4) I successfully used a technique, where I would take a low ingress, pop up, toss a GBU and then bank hard left (if I remember correctly) to keep the laser on the target until impact. Then get out to some range, repeat. This allowed to stay away far from the target and perform a low ingress. Dropping GBUs precisely from a high altitude is simple, which keeps you away from AAA fire, but still. Has anyone tried this? JDAMs would not even need a lase. If not, I will try it tommorrow and report back. :pilotfly:

You're right. I like it better when it's on. :D

Just a quick poll. Do you guys have this on or off? I can't decide :D
