Iva made many many missions and never seen that issue. Sounds like a corrupt meinit or something have u tried to re-install?
-
As sweet as the F18 is, nothing takes the place of the Tomcat...
-
Couldnt you just NOT download it and not install it? Only the user and those who liked could and would be able to see it? Couldnt someone beside Chizh do one up and slip it into the mainstream? I'm missing something?

So, we need a LOPE tool for skins?

Well, maybe lighten up on a team thats already brought us the best flight sim there is. Asking a team to revamp a graphics engine, has to be paid for. Turning blame on them for a product that was concieved years ago, and was ahead of its time then (as well as now) is not fair because of a new equipment generation of graphics card. Again, you should try some different settings, drivers, and do some credible benchmarking. You only recieved your card today. You might have a bottleneck somewhere else. Did you benchmark before you installed new card and after to compare? Is the card you have above, at or below all the advertised specs? You have residue from other vid cards in system? Havok

Landmines can be placed under items, Cruise Missles will be launched on those.

YAY! Wish list! For mission making it would be great if you could specify where your AI aircraft are to start mission at so the time it takes for it to Taxi to the runway doesnt have to be calculated. A setting for SLOW or FASTER taxi speed No AI Spawning or parking where humans spawn No more traffic jams on air bases by AI A 'lock' or per-mission template for placing units so you dont have to manually turn each one of them right or left to have them facing a certain direction (all default North) A matrix showing what objects will attack other objects, at what range and a note about how the levels of expertise influence this An option to have AI aircraft either go to a hardened shelter to park, rearm/refuel and take-off or, at the very least, 'dissolve' on their own after the expended their ammo so resources can be freed up. Documentation that contains limitations of aircraft quantities at airbases Ability to have end or tgt waypoints be driven by time or speed at any waypoint for strike coordinations and a date with the fuel 1500 chick Havok

Well, I would reinstall LockOn first. But thats just me. Also, you might want to try different drivers, if available. Probably give it a few days also to get everything setup. Double check your BIOS settings (Video & PC). Do a genuine benchmark (its $20 to register with 3D Mark) and compare with others with similar systems. Unless you are Mr. Omega Driver or Mr. NVIDIA and know all the nuances, its gonna take ya a few to get your new card tweaked to achieve maximum performance. Havok

The ships will fire if the deem the vehicles a threat. Try this: Put the CVN70, Tico and an OHP at the shoreline.(Blue forces) put (red forces) a BMP, Tank, Smerch, Tunguka for example at the shoreline no farther than 1 -2 km away. Dont give any orders..that is just place the ships and vehicles without setting them to attack The ships will destroy all vehicles and the vehicles will attempt to destroy the ships. Make sure: The ships can see the targets. If they cant, they will not fire. Exception is the Tico which will launch its cruise missles at targeted objects BVR The CVN does not have offensive weapons. It will not attack land targets. It will however use its CIWS against incoming missles or even missles within its range targeted at other friendlies...sometimes. The Ticos deck guns are fore and aft, OHP deck guns are aft. Make sure the targets are within their firing arc and range, and have ammo if theyve already seen some combat... The ships will attack based on threat level and what you have told them are priorities (im guessing) Take this into account when your building your mission. Hope that helps... Havok

Visual Improvement of future Sim.
iceden replied to zaGURUinzaSKY's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
People complain about everything, you hear whining all day long when you have a server. Everything is your fault complain complain complain. having this feature would have to be done so, as you mentioned, it would have to be client side only. Currently, certain gfx are drivin by the server which of course, is used to maintain a fair balance so as gfx do not let some have a advantage when flying. ED would have to integrate this so that all could use it without advantage in flying. -
Yep I have same bug. Disappointing that now, again, we'll have to wait for another patch and hope that this time, the validation team has used current drivers/hardware in their efforts. So much for movie making until this get fixed.

I am also working on a MS Access database with all objects in LockOn, specifically for mission builders in mind, where you can sort, for example, by weapon range or radar range. Havok

Tunguskas .. Oh no not that again...

Does anyone have a link to maybe some footage where some of the Russian equipment used in LockOn has been proven in actual combat? I have not been able to locate any only training clips. thanks- -
Lomac Server Autoloading Script
iceden replied to firesoldier845's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
But arent the targets/objects dynamically assigned a tag? You would need to identify each time what the object tag is, which can be quite the workload, before you could compile the data down to just the things you wish to look at. Also, anyone taking a slot in LockOn is know bearing the stats and events of the person who was in that slot before him Also, increasing the sampling of events is taxxing to the processor. But there are ways around everything, of course. -
Two clients spawn on the aircraft carrier deck?
iceden replied to ViperVJG73's topic in Bugs and Problems
Also, mission planning efforts are increased ten-fold if you don't start your AI aircraft on the runway. Each airbase is layed out differently, and having the realistic effect of aircraft spooling up, exiting the hardened shelter or parking area takes an unknown amount of time and makes it a nitemare to coordinate any attacks with the AI. Also, the aircraft taxi at a rate that is not adjustable which can cost you those aircraft as they should switch to a scramble state so as not to be destroyed on the ground. Having the ability to change speeds and altitude (to some extent) would be complimented by the ability to set the time you must have that aircraft arrive at that point. It would make mission building much much faster and immersive as Recon, SEAD, GA, CAP, Anti-Ship flights were time driven and reliant on each other. -
Going from 1Gig to 2Gigs RAM.
iceden replied to Cobra360's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I suppose there was a in-game performance difference when I went from 1 GB to 2 GB RAM. But where I noticed it most is reloads. After you have been in cockpit, and you go out to change payload/AC or whatever, you will be able to get back in the game much much faster. That impact was more noticible than anything else in LockOn going from 1 GB to 2... Game stability, frame rates, alt+tabbing, etc etc, I noticed nothing. If there was a change or improvement it was not measurable by common interaction or usage. -
Very classy thing to do, Bogun. Unfortunately you are of a minority and it is becoming more and more appearent why fewer and fewer are part of the LockOn skies. The accusers should hope there is a Bogun amongst you when you are unfairly treated.

So, LOPE so no one else can...LOPE? What about the issues that arise from having different MEINITS across the playing field? This is a sanctioned fix? Id rather have the occasional EA user than unreliable game play. At least that can be traced and corrected in 1 minute. Hopefully ED can give us some feedback on what will and wont work. Maybe consider black balling Skypat who has cast these creative and well-intentioned tools upon us. I hear he has created a copy tool also. My god, justimagine the pure evil we are about to face. People will be running around trying out this, trying out that. They might even learn new things or *gasp* create more tools! No, I say death to them, they are not qualified to make decisions or share their creativity. They're all cheaters, or will be. Lock everything down. Cavity search, deep and hard. The witch hunt grows in momentum

also, might be careful what the devs get pressed to do. Punkbuster has its side effects, and asking for some sort of anticheat is going to switch the dev's from focusing on tasks at hand, no gaurentees it will work 100% flawlessly, could cause a bundle of unknown problems, who will provide customer support if it doesn't work, etc etc. For 1 or 2 cheaters? Who get caught and kicked anyways? Im not supporting the cheaters, Im saying find a way without asking for integrated 'fixes' as this could, and it does, impact those of us who don't cheat or who dont want more headaches with installations, validations, etc. Punkbuster, for example, will kick you from games if it detects files it doesnt 'like'. When I used NVIDIA, I could not save a gfx game profile as PB didn't like it. I had to set my gfx each time for those games...much more hassle than it was worth...ever have PB not able to contact the master server for an update? Your dead in the water. We should work together for a solution. We dont need ED involved. Let them focus on other things, don't add to their plate.

maybe record their IP and keep an eye for unknown peeps as LockOn thru HL doesnt have that many people. Should be easy enough to have a list of suspect IP's... maybe a time set aside for the ones who like to try the LOPEs (although I dont know why it needs to be MP) to fly with others...if they had a place to go maybe they would feel more apt to only do it at certain times...

How about our new hyperlobby players?
iceden replied to Battle_Rattle's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Battles/Trackers idea of offering a chunk of server time for all to enjoy is a good idea for I think is obvious reasons. I know myself, and am by no means an expert, must answer many many questions everyday; some of these questions are questions people should have answered by themselves training single player, for example. Fact of the matter is, LockOn is not a arcade style game but more a sim and can be very challenging. Throw in the fact that many things are happening at high speed and throw in a bug or two with some of the technicals, it is a very challenging atmosphere. But there is no way anyone is going to learn what they need to fly on the servers by just flying single player. The training tracks, missions and manual .pdf's, for example, as good as they are, do not tie everything together for you and you are not going to learn what you need unless you are flying with experienced people. Without some server time set up for training, you will get those who are going to ask you questions everyday which will make you take focus away from your game which is not fair to the guys who are relying on you to do your part right here right now on the server mission you are on. It would benefit everyone to have somewhere they could go to ask and learn, without taking away from those who are in to fly and are trying to achieve a goal or win a battle and are relyed upon for doing their part. Even the Goyas, Ices and others in HL like Tracker etc sometimes want just to fly but must change focus or stop helping the team to give focus to someone that is probably not ready to be on that server, but understandably, want to fly with the guys. The hundreds of learnings that are scattered on forum posts or web sites could maybe be pulled together to a single or at least fewer place of learning and I bet even the muck mucks would learn something new... -
Try copying as a .jpg and pasting into a .doc file for example or use adobe acrobat

Just curious, how much effort is being spent not just on new Helos, paint jobs or Copy protection but an effort to fix some of the general problems with things like incorrect tally of Game key installs or bad CD's or other game play related issues? Id rather have a patch that does that, that fixes, and then pay for solid code and protection in a additional release. Most of us who fly here would die to protect this product and we are VERY protective and passionate of LOMAC and what it has done for us that may never be fighter pilots... Its frustrating being able to have the best flight sim in the world, but have to spend many many many hours reinstalling, sending emails, asking for help, going to forums for fixes. I would bet our hours spent helping others and trying to get them thru a frustarting startup are much more than ED's. Please help us minimize our frustrations and allow us more time to fly the best sim we'll probably ever see... Will this new Helo compound our problems and grow exponentially our bugs? Or are we getting a validated, bugfree product so we can spend more time enjoying this incredibly awesome sim instead of hours of frustration trying to get to work properly? Dont get caught up in the mans game, keep your passion
