Tech's LOFC Enhancement Pack, seeking your opinion...
ACUTech replied to ACUTech's topic in DCS Modding
Hi guys, thanks for answering. Well as a few already mentionned, there will always be something new around the corner. If I keep waiting for new stuff, I'll never release it... The pack is already done and ready to install. @Flanker1: you are absolutely right, typo from me, sorry 'bout that. @FWT: I've been gathering these for over 2 years now. @SuperKungFu: I wanted to include Birdy's latest 1.3 scenery, but I red it was messing up with TekaTeka's Structure Visibility mod, so I decided to remain with the previous version. Anyone got both working together? I guess it would also be possible to release "Pack Updates" when new mods see the light of day. Anyways, I'm still waiting for mod/addon makers to give their opinion on this subject... Cheers, -
lmao :D

That's truely amazing. Kinda makes you question your career choice hehe...

Hey fellas. For over 2 years I've been gathering all kinds of goodies for LOFC, packing 'em into one big pack. It's a gathering of my favorite mods and tweaks for Lock On. The main advantage is that I don't have to install all the mods again when I format/reinstall. The meinit.xml file is edited to death to include all those mods, and also correct squadron names for all the new skins I have installed. Here is the readme file, along with a list of the included addons: ========================================================== = Tech's LOFC Enhancement Pack V5.3 = For Lock On: Flaming Cliffs (patched to 1.12a only) This package is a gathering of my favorite mods and tweaks for Lock On: Flaming Cliffs only. It contains: - 666th_birdy's v1.2 High and/or v1.1 Medium Scenery Mod. - 9thAF_Nachtwolf's Triple Ejector Racks and LAU-68 3D models for the A-10A. - Alexandra's High Resolution Su-33 Skins (4). - Alexandra's 641GvIAP High Resolution Su-27 Skin. - Alexandra's 689GvIAP High Resolution Su-27 Skin. - Alexandra's 941eIAP High Resolution Su-27 Skin. - Alexandra's Canadian & Isreali C-130 Replacement Skins. - Alexandra's High Resolution F-14 Skin Packs 1 & 2 (10 Skins). - Alexandra's High Resolution Tu-95/142 Skin. - Aquarius Varun's High Resolution Russian Knights Su-27 Skin. - Aquarius Varun's High Resolution Ukrainian Aerobatics Su-27 Skin. - Archer's F-15C/Mig-29/Su-25/Su-27/Su-33 Cockpit Gauges Lights Mod. - Archer's Realistic Runway Night Lights Mod. - Bobocop's Fast Overcast v3.1 Cloud Mod (Medium + High). - Bossi's High Resolution Su-24 Skins (2). - D-Scythe's "Birds of Prey" High Resolution Skins for Walmis' F-15C model. - D-Scythe's F-16CG/CJ "War Pack" High Resolution Skin Pack & Canopy Improvement. - D-Scythe's High Resolution Mig-29 Skins (7). - Evil-JOE's Camouflage Fire-Fighter Truck Skin. - Evil-JOE's Israeli F-4E Replacement Skin. - Evil-JOE's Force Feedback Disable tweak. - Flanker's High Resolution KC-10 Skin. - Flanker's High Resolution Su-17 Skins (3). - Flanker's High Resolution Su-27 Skins (2). - Flanker's High Resolution Su-30 Skins (3). - Flanker's Ukranian 831th GvIAP High Resolution Su-27 Skin. - HAWG11's Realistic Sun Size Mod. - iVIPER21's C-17A High Resolution Replacement Skin. - iVIPER21's Dirty Decks For Carriers & Various Ships. - JJ Alfa's F-111 "Ardvaark" Add-On with High Resolution skin. - Knell & Wallamis's New Mig-29 Ventral Fuel Tank (3D Model & Worn Out Skin). - Kovy's Mirage 2000 Reality Skin Pack v2.0. - kyborg's An-26B/An-30M High resolution Replacement Skin. - kys1257's Realistic Afterburner Mod v1.12 (3D Model & Skin). - LYS's Realistic Russian Pilot Blue Skin & Knee Boards v3.0. - Majesco's Enhanced FPS Water Mod v2.0 (Fixed D-Scythe's Enhanced FPS Water Mod). - Mechanist's High Resolution Su-25 Skin. - Merlin's F-15C 610gal Conformal Fuel Tank High resolution Skin. - MigMag's HUD Reflection Mod For Russian Aircrafts. - MigMag's High Resolution 1998 KnAAPO Demo Scheme Su-27SK Skin. - Mitch Janssen's High Resolution A-10 Skins. - Mitch Janssen's High Resolution A-10 Pilot/Seat Skin. - Mitch Janssen's Realistic A-10 Cockpit + Enhanced Cockpit Gauges Lights. - MrWolf's High Resolution Su-25 Skin. - Oxyd's High Resolution US/UK HUD Fonts. - Rapier71's Realistic US Pilot with Knee Boards. - RVE Jetfire's TU-22M Skin & Window Fix. - Shepski's Realistic Weapons Loadouts Mod. - Some1's new Sorbtsiya ECM Pod v1.2 (3D Model, LODs & Skin). - Start 80's High Resolution Su-25 Skin. - Starlight's High resolution T-80 Soviet Guard Skin. - Tatti's New F-15C 610gal Conformal Fuel Tank (3D Model). - TekaTeka's Enhanced Structure Lights v2.0. - TekaTeka's Realistic Moon v2.0. - TekaTeka's Directional Airfield Icons. - TekaTeka's Enhanced Cockpit Reflections. - TekaTeka's Russian Seat Mod/fix. - TekaTeka's In Cockpit Camera Angles Mod. - TekaTeka's Map with Russia/Georgia Borderline. - TekaTeka's Tree Shader Mod v2.0. - TekaTeka's Structures Visibility v1.1 (For HIGH Visibility Range Setting). - PallMall's New Su-25T Lipetsk AB Add-On Skins (2). - PallMall's German F-4E High Resolution Replacement Skin. - PallMall's High Resolution Su-25 Skins (2). - Walmis' New F-15C 3D Model. - Walmis' Weapons Pack v2.11 (3D Models & Skins). - Xuantam_vOz's Fast Canopy Without Scratches v2.0. ========================================================== From me: - A gathering of improved sounds from Archer, zzzSpace, Grebs, and many others, tweaked to my liking using Sony's SoundForge 8.0a. - All New Loading Images and a new Main Menu image. - Encyclopedia items now appear in alphabetical order. - Tweaked HUD color to a more realistic mint green. - A new high resolution Ukrainian Su-25 skin (Saki Airbase). - High resolution Ukrainian Air Force roundel marking. - I edited the MEinit.xml file to incorporate the F-111 mod, the realistic weapons loadout mod, the TER Racks & LAU-68 mod, edited the bomb drop order for the Mk20 & Mk-82 on TER, and changed squadrons names of many planes to fit the new skins. - I made the Su-39 (Su-25TM) flyable. It shares the Su-25T cockpit, model and everything else, just like in real life. - I resaved all BMP's to "Indexed" instead of "RBG" for better compression, resulting in better performance at the expense of a barely noticeable quality loss. - I packed all texture files into .cdds packages for better performance. ========================================================== IMPORTANT NOTE: - In order to accommodate TekaTeka's Tree Shader Mod, you will have to edit your "graphics.cfg" file. It is located in the "%GAMEDIR%/Config" folder. Open it with notepad, press CTRL+F and search for "trees". Then Press "Find Next" 2 more times, until you get to the line where it says: "trees = {200000, 20000};" You will have to change the value to "trees = {200000, 15000};" in order to avoid trees popping up at far distance. Anything between 8000 and 15000 is OK. DO NOT GO OVER 15000. ========================================================== *Due to the increased number of high resolution skins, some FPS loss might be noticed on slower systems. **Only compatible with Lock On: Flaming Cliffs v1.12a due to the "meinit.xml" file modifications. ***Even though I tested this mod extensively and all seems fine, you still install this pack at your own risks! ****I am only taking credit for MY WORK, under the "From me" section, and for editing and packaging all this together. All other credits belong to the people listed in the 1st section of this readme file. Enjoy! Tech ========================================================== There are actually 2 packs, the other one being especially made for Widescreen display users. I have 2 questions: 1 - Anyone interested in this? 2 - Should I contact very single addon maker to request permission before releasing anything? (Should've done this in the 1st place maybe, but I was only planning to keep this for personal use. With the amount of addons I have now, it'll take forever to contact every single contributer. All credits are given to the respective modders anyways.) Maybe the concerned modders/addon makers can get involved right here and tell me if they agree or not with their work being included in this pack. The Enhancement Pack weights in at roughly 286Mb, and is modman compatible. Please reply in great number :) Best regards,
-
lol that is definatly NSFW stuff. Hilarious :D
-
I'll look into it Troff. I was thinking rapidshiet but since 3 outta 4 people have probs with it... All I would need is permission from all those mod makers. I've given credit to all of them in the readme file, but there are several files I've edited/modified, since it was ment to be for my personal use only in the 1st place. It turned out into a "super enhancement pack" and it would be nice if I could share it with you guys. Regards,
-
Wow this is great! hehe, I've done that, it's 300Mb and includes all the best goodies for LOFC :) It's just not released, I got nowhere to upload a 300Mb file... Cheers,
-
"2, copy." :D
-
...and well deserved :)
-
I think you're going ballistics without reason Troff... How about your Mr Blackjack project? Why would this be any different? As it is now we have good chances to see the new Tornado in BS, as opposed to Mr Blackjack, who apparently will "maybe" show up in ArmA only... Hmmm... Meh. Sorry man but I think doing a little bit too much here.
-
Best of luck to you guys. Awesome model you guys put together there. *Crosses fingers*
-
Wow awesome news! With Mitch back on track we won't have to worry at all. No one is better suited then Mitch to skin this masterpiece. Regards,
-
You know with such quality models we could turn this into a tank sim and it'd still look darn nice :P Keep 'em coming!
-
Huh, man sorry to hear that. You should keep up the work. You already have a good part of it done.
-
Right. But can't make anything out of the Su-39 entry as we knew it, cuz it simply got renamed. Think that's what he ment.
-
Yes, because the Ground Pounder Terrain "beta0" only included modified tree textures and the grass noise (wich could also be considered a specular map, sorta). Upcoming releases will include, just like grandsurf's mod, edited land/terrain textures not included in the Ground Pounder Terrain "beta0" release, hence the forthcoming compatibility issue not present to this day... Cheers,
-
The trees and terrain are seperate texture files. Gransurf has only worked on terrain textures AFAIK, so he used rockwelder's trees wich look better then stock ones. Since both modders are now working on land textures, modifying the same texture files to their liking, we won't be able to have both mods installed at the same time. Of course, what you do in the privacy of your home doesn't hurt anyone so I guess some will cross both mods to have the best of both worlds... :D
-
lol, I like your confidence ;)
-
I have to agree here. This is a very nice try, but as Shamandgg says, something doesn't seem right. I think the pilots are still oversized compared to the a/c, and the body is "looking" quite low poly to me. It's probably the poly handeling/placement wich is at fault here. The normals under the fuselage seem really messed up from what I can see on the 1st few pics. Don't forget one thing: practice makes perfect. No one said it was an easy task, and I for one wouldn't even get close to what you've done so far. Good luck!
-
*Wipes off tears of joy* Feks man, can't wait for that. This mint in it :) Haven't felt that exited about a release in a long time... Take your time, but please, make it fast! :D
-
Argh that is what I feared the most. Now we'll have to choose one over the other, wich won't be an easy task! Well at least you tired I guess. Bah we can always say it makes up for some sane competition, forcing modders to bring their standards even higher, giving us top quality work... Keep up the great work grandsurf. Cheers,
-
Jesus! that is superb! Pretty sure I saw a friggin deer bouncing by that river. The effect in that valley is just stunning. Can't wait! Kudos rock :D

It has been renamed to Su-25TM, wich would be the proper designation, if I'm not mistaking... Quote from the Wiki: "A second-generation Su-25T, the Su-25TM (also designated Su-39), has been developed with improved navigation and attack systems, and better survivability. The Russian Air Force has received only a small number of each version so far. However, the improved avionics systems designed for these aircraft have been utilised in the Su-25SM, an interim upgrade for the series-produced Russian Air Force Su-25, resulting in superior survivability and combat capability" Unfortunatly, no extra "entry" in the meinit to play with... Cheers,
-
I'm speechless, really. This is beyond impressive. Regards,
