I cannot decide if the CDU is something I should learn. Mainly because I don't know what benefits it brings to using it in this Sim. I mean, I can play a mission and I don't ever seem to have to use it for anything. I have only used the UFC to divert to another airfield, but beyond that what other benefits are there to using the CDU? What is it primarily used for and do you really need it in this Sim?

Well it doesn't stress my Cpu either, but still runs bad when lots of units are on screen. I have looked at my Cpu when this is happening and my Cpu is nowhere near stressed. My Cpu usage was around 65% when the sim started to struggle.

I didn't actually belly land all that was missing was the wheels on the end of the landing gear. You would think that would break up though and that I would end up on my belly, but that doesn't happen.

I think the manual goes into to much detail and confuses you more then it helps, it's ok for some things but when you go into to much detail it just confuses people. I watched video tutorials and was able to pick up alot of the stuff, but when I read the manual I was like what the? The other thing is you have to have an interest in planes, if you think you are just going to hop in the pit of an A10C and understand everything then you are kidding yourself.

Just done a mission where I had all my wheels shot off, but to my surprise it was easier landing with no wheels. The plane came to a stop after only a short time and there was no loss of control as I went down the runway. I might be wrong here, but I'm sure I used to skid all over the show in 1.26. Has something changed in 1.27 that stops that?

installing runtimes error? Everytime I repair 1.27 it downloads something and then says installing runtimes? I do the repair because I keep getting this error ingame (pic below). Anyone know what I should do or is this a known bug?

Why when I press 1.26 does it say update 1.269999?

is it just me who is totally baffled by how to update this? Am I suppose to update using 1.26 or the beta 1.27? Am I then able to delete which ever one I don't need? Comon some better install instructions needed here.

I have watched some video tutorial about the Maverick, but I am a bit confused on how to ground stabilize it. I have the TM Hotas Warthog controller and in one video it says you keep tapping TMS forwards quickly, but in another video it says to hold TMS back long? So which is it or is it none of these?

Don't get me wrong, I also see where you are coming from. However, this is a different guy asking that very same question. Have you yourself not asked a question that has been answered hundreds of times before? The guy who answered him could have directed him to the last update like I did.

@Geiter - Here it is since you missed it. Hope that helps. Since the last update, the NTTR map undergoes refinement, but the big gating item is currently setting up the DCS code structure to handle EDGE-based terrain data (textures, objects, DTED, etc.).

So you don't think the guy already has sense to know it will be ready when it's ready or when it's done?

It might be an honest answer, but I think it could be said in a different way. Especially when it's the guys 3rd post and he probably has no idea about the game. Seriously, if I asked someone at work when some thing would be ready and got that response, then I would be pretty miffed. I just think it comes over as been umpolite if you ask me. I say this because I think the guy will already have sense to know it will be ready when it's ready.

I see now why the tree damage is important.

I am not sure why there is such a huge demand for tree damage. I mean, it's not often a pilot hits a tree unless he is going to crash in anycase and even then he does all he can to avoid them. But if you still want to crash your chopper on purpose there is always the nearest building or hill.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't installed Mods to the 1.27 beta, I only installed them to 1.26.

Terrain, Sound, Cockpit. Why? Do you think it's a virus? Don't want to delete them if they are going to mess up my game and are just false positives.

After the maintenance is done to the server on Tuesday. ED, highly recommend you clear DNS cache? Run ipconfig flushdns in windows? Could someone care to explain the above a little better? Like how to do this? Just for someone who doesn't know a great deal about windows? Thanks!

No offence, but I already gathered that. I just get distracted by so many people saying different things in here sometimes that it's hard to know what to believe anymore. I did see that ED mentioned December, 2013 as a possible date at some point, so I was merely asking for anymore info. I then see that people are mentioning June and wanted to know if there was any truth in this.

I have no such line like this "Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\View\SnapViews.lua" I have no view folder in the config folder? I do have "Saved Games\DCS.World\Config\View\SnapViews.lua" and there is a view folder in here. Edit Update: I just copied the View folder over from 1.26 to 1.27 and now it's working. Do you think this will cause me any problems? I copied the view folder from 1.26 to Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\
