  1. They have done it with BS2 (I recognize that the shark already had a 6DOF cockpit, i.e. less work, but still :)), so it is not totally unreasonable to anticipate a similar upgrade to SU25T at least, which is already unique among other FC aircraft in that it has an advanced flight model, and at the time of its introduction it represented a leap of similar - if not greater - magnitude. And whether the extra work needed to incorporate a renewed cockpit is "worth it" would be a question of pricing, no? ;)
  2. I understand that. But I'm really enjoying the new shark cockpit and I was hoping to see a similar upgrade if only to the SU25T. Since this will be a "paid" product, why not?
  3. Bummer :(. Thanks anyhow.
  4. Hello, a quick FC3 question: "This will be a paid-for update to the Flaming Cliffs series and brings it to the same world, mission editor, AI, units, etc. as A-10C and Black Shark 2." Does the 'et cetera' include new 6DOF clickable cockpits and cockpit shadows for any FC3 aircraft?
  5. It'd be great if the mission placed a friendly ground unit in vicinity of home base so that you can come back to refuel/rearm. Currently, as soon as you take off, your homebase turns "Neutral" from "Red Coalition."
  6. Thank you both for answering. That's about all I wanted to know.
  7. Hello, Can someone please point me to information on the new mission generator in BS2? I particularly would like to know randomization capabilities, if any? Thanks
  8. Altitude <4 meters suspends auto pilot, says manual
  9. Occasionally happens to me, too. Minimizing and restoring LockOn fixes it.
  10. ReflexHQ Turkish LockOn Squad Squadron Name: Reflex Based at Novorossiysk AF Has one fighter wing with SU27s One bomber wing with SU25Ts And one aeorbatics wing with F-5Es (modded) Regards
  11. *bump*
  12. Anyone?
  13. Hello, here's my problem: I exclusively fly the 27, and since 1.11 I noticed something. I lock the enemy's jammer signal using the radar in BVR mode, then launch an ER. Then after the burn through, I launch another ER. Sometimes (not always) the BVR suddenly switches to EOS by itself and turns off the radar. First I figured maybe somehow I lost radar lock, that's ok, but why does it switch to EOS? The logic would be that the system tries to reacquire the target with the EOS after losing radar lock, yet despite close range (about <10 km) it won't acquire using EOS either. And most frustrating is that when I turn the radar back on, I see the enemy (or its jammer signal as the case maybe, despite being within the burn through range) on the HUD radar display but can't lock it (jammer signal cant be locked either). So I switch back to NAV mode, then back to BVR, and behold, I can now lock (if I manage to survive that long). I am not sure if this is a bug or a feature or a mechanization error on my part, but it sure is annoying. Any comments?
  14. Hello, I love this sim and I want to see it get better and played by more people. In our squadron, we train newcomers on various aspects of the sim and I think it would be much more efficient and less time consuming if we had the LAN Instructor functionality back in the sim (thus help bring more new people, faster into it), perhaps with the coming of BlackShark addon. I believe the original functionality was terrific, and it added much to the sim. I hope the developers consider this plea, which I believe is shared by many others. Regards
  15. Gambit, try doing a Knife's Edge pass in AF (if you don't know what that manouver is, never mind my post :D ), then come complain about LockOn's FM, which certainly has some fallacies but it sure does suspend my disbelief ;) Particularly after the SU25T FM, there's hardly a match for FM of LockOn. On a second note, Falcon's sophistication and glamour is hardly in FM. It's the campaign and avionics/electronic warfare simulation that distinguishes Falcon. (btw, F4+BMS2+HFFM is light years ahead of AF, which has been a few steps back in many aspects, particularly the FM)
  16. Not trying to be persistent or anything but you are wrong :) I just retested it with an F15C vs. unarmed Su27 without jammer with missile effectiveness slider in the middle. I shot the 120 at about 20 miles out and unlocked. Switched to weapon view and saw that the missile kept tracking. No jammer on the SU, so no question of HOJ. The SU was manouvring too. It was a near-miss due to loss of energy. If you like, I can record a track and send it to you so you can see for your self. Failure to carry the 120 until time-to-active should be a wasted shot. Not in LockOn tho. At any rate, have a great day
  17. In game performance of the AIM120 proves you wrong. Do a test and see for your self. Fire an AIM120 from 15 miles to a manouvering target and unlock. Watch the weapon view and see if the missile keeps tracking.
  18. Those are arabic numerals. As stated above, there's no such thing as english numerals :) I read through the posts here but never seen anyone mention it, so here is a reminder: The AIM120 is not all the way active homing. It needs to be in a certain range to the target before it can engage its onboard radar, which is very small. So the firing platform must keep guiding the AIM120 toward the target (maintain lock like you would a SARH missile) until the missile is close enough to use its own radar to acquire. In LockOn tho, there isn't such requirement. You can just fire the missile from range, it goes active and it can acquire the target from a distance, which is not right. The AIM 120 needs to be about 10 miles of the target (or somewhere around there. Please correct this figure if it is wrong) to be able to acquire the target whereas in the sim, it can acquire from upto 30 miles, which sort of throws off the force-on-force balance. I am surprised no one here mentioned this  [Edit: Clarification: It actually shows the Time to Active on HUD, but even if you unlock the target immediately after launch, the missile still keeps track.]
  19. Thanks. We're using a php based portal: MK Portal. A free one coded by some Italian dude. It's much faster than nuke and is very flexible.
  20. Hello, We're a new squadron that flies LockOn Flaming Cliffs (and hopefuly Black Shark, soon :) ) I figured I drop a note here for other Turkish speaking LockOn players who are seeking an online group to fly together with. For information, please visit www.reflexhq.com. (the site is in Turkish). Regards,
  21. Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot
  22. Hello, I have swapped the F15 model with the F-5E and painted a new skin over the Green Paint Schme. Please see the pic below: I would like to get rid of the AF marking on the tail and the NAVY and VFC13 markings on the fuselage. I also want to replace the Russian Standard 01 marking on the fuselage with the 001 marking of the Turkish Air Force. Is that possible? If so, can some one please explain how I can do that. I'm guessing I need to tweak the meinit.xml file but I have no clue which values to change there. Regards
  23. thanks, mate :D
  24. Hello, I need the F-5E for making a formation flying movie. I tried using the humancockpit key to make the F5 flyable yet the flight model is very wild :) So, what I want to do is to swap the F15 model with the F-5E, whereby when I fly the F15, it'll look like the F5. If it is possible to do that, can someone please explain to me as to which files I need to swap/rename? Regards
