I write on behalf of Operation Spitfire, a voluntary group that is restoring the Spitfire in the Potteries Museum, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Currently the Spitfire gallery is very shabby and lacks content. This money will be used to redesign and refurbish the gallery in which the Spitfire sits - thereby doing justice to this iconic aircraft and its designer. Operation Spitfire is also building a cockpit simulator for public use in the gallery. (Yes I have recommended DCS) This will be great fun and will help attract visitors to the gallery, as well as help raise money to sustain the project in the future.
