I write on behalf of Operation Spitfire, a voluntary group that is restoring the Spitfire in the Potteries Museum, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
Operation Spitfire has an opportunity to win £25,000 to redesign and refurbish the Spitfire gallery, and I would be very grateful if you could spare a few minutes to vote for Operation Spitfire on the link below.
Most people recognise the importance of the Spitfire as an icon of British engineering and aviation excellence, and the Stoke Spitfire is a bit special because Stoke-on-Trent is the birthplace of Spitfire designer, R J Mitchell.
Currently the Spitfire gallery is very shabby and lacks content. Operation Spitfire wants to create a unique experience for visitors to the Potteries Museum by making the gallery an exciting experience for everyone. This money will be used to redesign and refurbish the gallery in which the Spitfire sits - thereby doing justice to this iconic aircraft and its designer.
Operation Spitfire is also building a cockpit simulator for public use in the gallery. (Yes I have recommended DCS) This will be great fun and will help attract visitors to the gallery, as well as help raise money to sustain the project in the future.
But now, to win £25,000 and improve the gallery Operation Spitfire needs people to vote online.
Anyone living in the UK can register and vote (it takes a few minutes, but stick with it please) by clicking on the link below:
