  1. We've worked with them before. Its not a good idea to tell them I sent you. :D
  2. You can get away using on board graphics as long as they allow direct draw and 3D acceleration and also AGP texture acceleration. If your running an old nVidia 7300LE with 128 onboard, like we were for a while, you just need to turn the graphics all the way down and run it windowed 800x600. Also zooming in on map view or into the sky on airfield view will help.
  3. I've gone through server providers like underwear.... Trying to find a provider that will give you the set-up you need at an affordable price is difficult. In order to make things price effective most server providers run a blade type setup, where they can fit multiple machines in a rack. More servers in a rack = more savings to you. The only problem is server blades cant fit video cards so... I've also found that most companies that provide both the hardware and the location at affordable prices tend to either suck at support or have shoddy hardware, or often times both. IMHO the best way to host a server is buy your own machine and either co-locate at a data center or host at your home. if your looking to co-locate in the states, PM 104th_PoleCat. I dont know anyone who is co-locating outside of the US... maybe talk to someone from =4c=?
  4. You guys rock! Too bad I cant be there to buy you all beer.
  5. I'm not sure how it would be exported. We could always run it and see what it says in the logs. I imagine it would just show up as a crash. If you want to be able to fly low but want to still use this trigger you could put the altitude at 5m and then give another rule for "time more" and put 10 seconds. Its not perfect obviously, but we work with what we have. Maybe we can get an Landed trigger rule for 2.0? EDIT It doesnt work very well with the trigger at 5m. If they land at a road with an elevation above 5m it wont work. We need a landed trigger.
  6. This is easily acheived via the ME with the trigger system already in place for DCS. Continuous Condition / Unit Altitude Lower Than and Unit within Zone / Unit Explode Set a zone to encompass all areas outside the airfield (focusing on where you think offenders will be) and then set the altitude to your choosing (ie 100m, 10m, etc) You can keep people from 10m flying and enforce a hard deck...
  7. We dont have a single rocket scientist in this group of computer nerds?? I met a one or two at Berkeley... one thing is for sure, they weren't out partying with women on a Saturday night! :D
  8. So based on what your saying, and we believe this Mig-29 pilot, then the E version is less manuverable than the regular version? ...is this conversation actually having an impact on whats to be decided in Hot Rocks 2.0?
  9. I started thinking about this in terms of whats already known in lockon. Obviously the values for the parameters are flawed to some extent, but I think we can make sense of this as would be seen by a Mig-29 pilot. We know in lockon that launching an ER or R at a maneuvering target while the missile is in boost phase reduces that chances of a kill. Without being an expert on the physics of this, my guess is that the forward velocity caused by the motor, decreases the effectiveness of the control surfaces and limits the amount of g's the missile can pull. As the missile decelerates its control surfaces become more effective and the missile becomes more maneuverable. So if we apply this to what we know about the Mig-29, with its limited radar range, its possible that a good lock is achieved within the period that an E missile is in its boost phase. Fudd for thought... :music_whistling:
  10. If you would have used the search function as Bucic recommended you would have found this thread as well. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=42356&highlight=ka-50+chaff
  11. Oh and I guarantee that at least one person at ED is a fan of Voluptuous Women :D
  12. Thats a great idea Luke.S ED should put that in development just after DCS:Voluptuous Woman That way we all wouldn't have to beat off as much...
  13. Brakes = check good Its composite airframe is so light that it stops 5 feet shorter than any current 4th generation fighter. It failed however to beat the F-22's stopping distance by 10 inches... :D
  14. This add was seen in the Moscow Times today: For Sale: High Performance 5th generation Stealth jet fighter, fully armed, new paint. Looks very similar to US F-22, but without the added reliability, functionality or air superiority. Airframe has only 10 hours in the wind tunnel and less than 1 mile taxi distance. All serious offers considered. Will trade for the RoKAF trainer by the same name or similar functional aircraft. :D
  15. The US already has one and has been flying it around Groom Lake for the past two weeks. Forward flight = checks good. :D
  16. Die? DIE? Just 'cause his signature once said "Friends dont let freinds engage the 44th," does not mean its cause for alarm. ...tatamount to a scarecrow! :P
  17. Hi Everyone, Instead of having google perform the translation and having it come out sounding like a 2 year old child, I'm asking this question in English. Please forgive me. :) I was wondering if someone from the team could provide an answer to this question: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=49215 I am already building multiplayer missions and it would be helpful to know the answer. Respectfully, Fudd
  18. It would be nice if the Ka-50 could at least hear the calls the AWACS makes... even if its like it is in FC where you don't have a choice on dialing it in or not. From a mission building perspective it is going to be challenging to incorporate Ka-50's on to the battlefield without having them become target drones. The AWACS support could at least give the sharks warning that fast movers are inbound so they can hide.
  19. Almost 70 views and no one knows anything?? I guess I'll have to wait and see...
