Nope, the "bunkers" are only for AI, and you can't get on them (you can jump to an AI pit, but thats all.) Hmmm You can also beat an AI back to the hangar, and cut in front of it to get it, but it will eventually ram you like you werent even there.

the trick was to deploy the chute before landing, and yes there is a track here somewhere on the forums if i remember right :)

Ok, SU27 :tongue: (but then that doesn't have a hook) haha. Ah well, thats explains why I would seemingly never see it come out when landing on airfields even after franticly pressing the button when landing "hot". quick question: whats the fastest safe deploying speed for it on the 27?

The hook is probably part of the hydraulic system? -As in you have total hydraulic faliure it wont work (like the landing gear, flaps, airbrake) Maybe its just an electric servo which can also go out if you have other faliures. it doesnt matter, you can still land without it, its just hard and some good timming with the chute, heck if they land the SU-25T on the admiral, the SU-33 shouldn't be impossible. I'll try it later tonight.

Notepad.exe in windows works just fine, just pick it form the list when windows asks :)

It's not at all about being "ashamed" It's more about not feeling like listening to a more advanced player barking at you bacause you made an honest mistake. At the begining I didnt feel like just jumping in to any server in hyperlobby just because of that. I know some of you say its not elitism, and I agree with that being the case with many of you. I know you are a great bunch of guys and I only started flying (like a month now). But there are the few instances were a beginner joins the server and makes a simple mistake, then he proceeds to get flamed endlessly or outright booted from the server. I personally have never shot a friendly down in my short time online, but I've witnesed how those who do by mistake are treated. Again, I know its only a few, and I don't judge everyone by the few ;) It's just the presure a beginner has to face. That's why I'm offering what I am. More so than the server MrWolf-Loskins is so kindly providing, as mine is on a more regular basis (about 5 days a week, if not 24/7 yet), and since we are all constructively learning there at the same time, we don't really say much if we make a mistake, we learn from it. Hey guys, n00bs to LockOn specially... I might have a solution for some of you that might be interested. First of all, I'm Neodark, "n00b to LockOn FC" Let me tell you, We have all been there at one point (I still am a n00b) and this is one thing many of the more experienced players tend to forget. Yes many do have an awesome attitude, but some get annoyed rather quickly when we ask the "n00b to them" questions, and you know who I'm talking about, yes you posted in this thread, but I wont say more... I understand it gets old, but remember what is like to be a n00b, remember what you went trough. What's more, a n00b in your game will kick your butt in another game, just keep that in mind, in the end we are all n00bs at one point or another :tongue: Now, enough of the banter.. Lets just get down to it: No ammount of offline training is going to be as good as a bunch of guys helping eachother out via TeamSpeak, a human will never be AI.... :cool: As of last week, I found another person in the same exact position I'm in. That is.. Learning the ropes and having tons of fun while doing so. (I'm not posting his name, because I dont know if he'd mind) but let's just say that between me and him we have learned a ton of stuff about this awesome game, and we are more hooked than ever on it. More than anything I really thank him for sharing so much info and giving me help where I needed it. There is NOTHING like having someone else to ask questions to, and share answers with (things a tutorial wont tell you). At least they won't get annoyed with the simple questions more advanced players think are common knowledge. (so how do I start my engine?) ;) I have the means to setup a server for those of you interested in less than "ACE" level stuff, the ones that are just starting and have the questions, the ones that feel a bit affraid to jump in hyperlobby for fear of being flamed to hell and back for commiting a small "noob" mistake. Hell I dont care if you shot me down and are on my own team, we are learning and having fun doing so, after all this SIM is a GAME and GAMES are for FUN... If anyone here wants to join a couple of other guys (it's 3 of us so far, but I can host at least 15 players) to just have fun and learn along the way, shoot me a PM. I will provide you with the necessary information to get started. There are only two requirements, TeamSpeak, and to have Flaming Cliffs, as the older versions are not compatible with my server. My flying skills have come around tremendously with the help of the "other guys", with the help we have been able to share between us, and we'd love to have more people come over. Hey the more the merrier, right? the more we can learn from each other without being worried of getting flamed for asking a seemingly simple question in Hyperlobby. As for the community, Let me say I'm really happy to be part of this game and community (even though I just started) because all the resources and help available from each other. Yeah, even if you guys get annoyed with our "noob questions" sometimes :tongue: cya around/. -Neodark

I have a couple of questions I wanted to ask you guys/ED... Since we don't have a dedicated server app, How would I go about running my own dedicated server? I'm interested in this, because I have a dedicated PC for all my serving needs that could just be dedicated to running the server, as I would like to have my main PC running the sim with all it's resources dedicated to it, and not serving. The real question is: Can I use my same copy of LockOn Gold (CD version) to install a 2nd copy of my game to run the dedicated server and only that? or do I have to buy another copy just to serve? (I ask because I remember reading a post by an ED tester or member about a possible dedicated server application in the near future, and if thats the case; I would just wait instead of buying another copy just to serve) PS: It's a dual opteron box with a 6600GT GPU, and it also hosts my TeamSpeak stuff. :D Thanks -Neodark

I had the same problem, but I think I found a way to resolve it faster.... 1st: I didn't "mail" anything. 2nd: You NEED a scanner, at worst a digital camera (I used a scanner) 3rd: Scan/take pictures of: both CD's, The box's UPC (proof of purchase) & the receipt. One you have these scans/pictures (make sure they are legible) and yeah dont share them with ANYONE. You can e-mail them to lockon@creativecms.com along with an explanation of the problems that you are experiencing. I received a reply from them within 24 hours, and a confirmation that the replacement CD was to be shipped ASAP, the next day; I received a confirmation e-mail about my disc being shipped. 4 days later (on a Saturday) I received my replacement disc, installed my game and I'm playing FC 1.1 happily ever after :p Hope that this helps the slow process of using snail mail :)

yeah, it was an emotional show, bye, bye tomcats :( Sorry guys, it's taking me a bit longer, having a hard time encoding to divx, stupid virtual dub, ah well, its my fault as I never used it before. anyway I'll have it back up asap, along with the tomcat moments. PS: I wish I knew someone from the forum was there, it would've been awesome. Next time I guess. But we did witness history this past Sunday.

It was shot with a DV camcorder, so it's DVD quality or 720x480, so its widescreen as well. (it lost some quality when compressed in WMV though, maybe I'll try to re-encode in divx) As for the other guys, sorry its down (see my post above). I'll re-host it in a few hours, please check back.
