First of all, I'd like to say I never had issues with starforce... That is until the release of patch 1.12a (you can find the thread under the bugs section) IT basically did not allow many of us to play our game. Thanks to a copuple of guys that suggested I contact starforce directly, my problem was sorted out in a quick manner, and I'm back up in the sky. I really do not like starforce, rather I tolerate it because LockOn has it, and I love the game. But what kind of bussines practice is this? They resort to post a link to an illegal download of a non-starforce protected game to make a point? How silly. I've sent my error report/log to startforce and ED, lets see if they can fix this. Im really upset that I cannot play my game due to some "protection"... thanks for the suggestions guys.

Since it's a technology they are licensing causing the problem. HOWEVER, it's their responsability to correct the flaw they or StarCrap introduced. EDIT: Typo

yeah windows isn't the problem... I had no issues whatsoever until I applied the 1.12a patch. whats more, as previously said, the game works (1.12 and under) until you apply "1.12a" then it will not read the stupid disc. I can replicate this issue every single time. I tried to install lockon on my laptop (completely different system) and it does the same thing. It has to be some hardware issue where starforce cannot authenticate the disc with certain drives. Which is BS, because like I said.. We would have less problems playing a pirated game.. It oviously doesnt happen to EVERYONE, but its BIG enough that severtal users have reported the issue. PS: I also got that "void" whatever error someone else had in here. As of now I cannot play my game due to crapforce..

The main issue I have with engine sounds is when you are viewing your plane from the outside view and moving the camera around. First is really low (when viewing the front of the plane) but as soon as you are anywhere close to the engines, there is this HUGE boom and my desk shakes... (thanks to a mean sub under it) if you move the camera back and forth its like breaking the sound barrier over and over (quite annoying)

Same exact issue here, I was even going to make a movie of it yesterday and post it here because I was so frustrated. it's like the disc won't read, and it just hangs @ 30% before it used to take a while to "verify" the stupid disc, but now it just hangs there. My solution was different. I had to cancel the starforce prompt that pops up when you click on your desktop icon to launch lockon. What you have to do is eject the disc, then re-insert... When the lockon screen pops up (autorun menu, not starforce) the one that says "play, uninstall, with the pic of a jet, etc.." click PLAY from there. It then proceeded to go to the starforce auth crap and finally went through. Try it, it's the only way to play the game. Yes SF sucks. I'll post a mini movie if any devs what to see exactly whats happening.

That's good news man, hopefully everything turns out ok. One question as well, are you working on a new FPS tweak (like previous versions) for 1.12a? I could really use it :p thanks

I guess I'll try that if 1.11 doesnt like 1.12a applied to it, thanks :) I just dread having to setup my controls again... Ah well (I heard that 1.12 reset them to default or something)

So I never installed 1.12, I'm still on 1.11, should I just install 1.12a and be done with it, or 1.12 then 1.12a? thanks

I was lucky enough to witness the last ever performance of the Tomcat @ oceana NAS a few months ago. It was really emotional for everyone there. this plane will live forever as one fo the great ones.
