  1. Rudel, as other have said, you seem to be the only one working on this module. I appreciate your efforts and I have to say that textures have always been top notch in the MiG-21, unfortunately it's the other parts that are missing. It seems to me like you're working on this on your own and there is no coordination with the rest of the team who simply doesn't want or isn't able to fix the long standing issues. It's a real shame, because an icon of aviation such as the MiG-21 deserves better than this, and it would be better to release it to the public to be modded, or let other 3rd parties to another MiG-21 at DCS level.
  2. I like the CE2. Having flown Pitts IRL, I think DCS is the best simulator to simulate gyroscopic maneuvers, tumble rolls etc (provided the FM is up to par). So I will definitely buy it, as long as the MiG-21 starts to get some proper progress.
  3. A tiny changelog of which 2 items are reportedly not working (nukes and nukes panel), my question still stands: what will be of the MiG-21? A beautifully textured 3D model, or a DCS level study sim? P.S. I "fixed" my first post ;)
  4. Honest question, with 2.5 just released and finally a single platform to work on, is there going to be any progress on fixing and finalizing the MiG-21 in terms of FM, ASP, pilot in the cockpit, fixing cockpit instruments etc., or will it only receive a MAJOR texture updates and that's it? Thanks
  5. Haha! cool :holiday::punk:
  6. That's exactly what I meant, thanks, I struggled to find a video where it was so clear  Anyway, I remember it was implemented at some point. To me it seems like you are "stopping" control laws below a certain speed. What if you let the FBW on all the time? That would give such effect I think. P.S. Agree that on the F-16 is particularly evident, but on the Mirage is definitely there too, just the elevons are smaller, so you see it less.
  7. For the sake of realism and authenticity, please let the FBW move the elevons up and down also during taxi (when you hit the brakes, small bumps etc.). This is a feature of all FBW aircraft and is visible already in DCS Su-27, F-15 (yes I know, this one is not FBW), and in BMS F-16. I remember at one point also the M2000 had this effect, then it was removed. If you have a look at videos on youtube you can spot the small movements, for example in this video Thanks
  8. then how is it possible that the normals got screwed up? As far as my (very) little 3d modeling experience goes, you need to open the model in 3d program to change such things, it doesn't just happen on it own
  9. I don't think so, why would they remove it? It was full of references and info!
  10. I agree with all said, and yet you guys have to realize that DCS is just lacking the infrastructure to create something like this at the moment. AI traffic and ATC are just the icing on the cake, and in other sims are made possible by: - rendering system with a bubble (= doesn't render everything, but just units that are in range) - AI - ATC - Dynamic campaign engine So, don't hold your hopes too high, 'cause until at least the first 3 items on that list are done, I don't think we're going to see any AI traffic and busy frequencies.
  11. Actually for the particular situation of DCS, it probably wouldn't make too much business sense. All modules are released in beta, and they stay there for a long time. So trying a beta for 3 hours isn't really too meaningful if a lot of what you see is going to be changed/improved/removed/broken/fixed etc. I guess the uninformed customer would be turned off quickly from purchasing. Imagine the neverending discussions: "I tried the module and multi-crew doesn't work, so I won't buy it" "but multi-crew will be available later, you should buy it and wait" etc. etc. etc.
  12. Can someone point em to the thread about the hydraulic pressure / windmilling bug? Can't find it anymore.
  13. I was wondering if the 3d model of the A-10C has been touched/improved in some ways, and as a consequence of work being done on it, we have this bug?
  14. Actually I noticed the same since the last 2 patches. Glad it's being looked at!
  15. Being able to try for a limited (even very limited) time before buying would be great IMO. Besides, it's not that we are talking about some radical new business practice. Demos have been around for decades, and even Lock-On had a free demo.
  16. I hope they correct it, doesn't really make any sense to have glossy looking tyres...
  17. Thanks for the fix, highly appreciated!
  18. +1 to OP, Azrayen, etc. DCS has been plagued by some show-stopping bugs that make/made life hard for virtual squadrons and MP pilots, and this is not something recent but it goes back to DCS A-10C. I applauded the release of the OB version, but it's not being used as intended IMO.
  19. Thanks Zeus! Yes I was specifically looking for the smaller numbers and symbols. I'm used to the F-16 in Falcon, where you bug the target it has a small number indicating altitude (which I find extremely useful), and wasn't totally sure how it was in the M2000. Looking forward to reading more in the manual when it will be updated.
  20. Skate, just to clear some confusion: - I am well aware of how HUDs work in real life, so we're on the same page there. - What I am reporting/noticing is that the absolute size of the HUD picture in the A-10C, in my case, has increased since the patch. It has increased to the point where if I move my head back in 1.5.5.x I can see far less of what I could see in the previous version, given the same head position.
  21. Never spoke about Hud being focused to infinity  I'm referring to the 3d model bugs and hud size.
  22. I can't find any info regarding radar symbology in the manual. Can anyone point me to some info? Thanks
  23. The zoom in/out is because DCS is loading more 3d objects in the distance as you zoom. Other than that, I also noticed FPS drop when using the mouse to rotate the external view.
  24. I noticed the problem is still present in today's update 1.5.5.60314
