  1. I am putting a crap load of rangers on a hostile airfield and I can give them no anti armor capability. The Russians have the RPG-16 which can take out an M1 but the US has no man protable antitank troops? WTF? I expected to see an AT4 trooper or a Javelin trooper listed as an option under ground units but I am not seeing either. Am I missing something?
  2. I tried that and they all crashed into each other trying to land at the same time. I guess if there's no solution I'll go with the fast rope scenario.
  3. Damn nothing? I was hoping someone would know.
  4. I am making an airfield assault mission and I have 4 CH47s I want to make a touch and go on the target airfield. When I configure the way-point I can set the helo alt to the alt of the runway but the helos never actually touch down nore can I get the speed to zero, it always default to one. Now I know I can configure the helos to "land" on the airfield but if I do that then they don't all come in together, they break off and land one at a time which is not what I need for this mission. Any helpful hints out there? I suppose I could just say the rangers are fast roping in and that's why the helos don't land but I sure would like to know how to get them to do a touch and go.
  5. Well to be honest you don't really need the HOTAS Warthog, I use the HOTAS Cougar and it works just fine.
  6. Oh sure, I flew with my $60 Saitek for a while after I got the sim. But then I broke the Cougar out of retirement and the Sim went to a whole different level. So for sure you're correct you can fly with a "Best Buy" stick, but if you truly want to experience the Hog the way DCS meant it to be experienced, you're gonna need a full up HOTAS. Edit: it wasn't till I broke out the Cougar that I realized I also needed to lay out the duckies for the Thrustmaster MFD controllers too.
  7. First off, it's a simulation, not a game. And you're going to need some sort of HOTAS to fully enjoy it. I have a Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar I am looking to sell if your interested. PM me for the details.
  8. No doubt, that's one of those moments when I am yelling at the screen F&CK YOU!
  9. Yeah I had the same issue with the on call CAS flight. Now I don't cut them lose until I have prosecuted my primary. In fact more often then not I don't cut them lose until I am Winchester. I can't stand having a juicy tank all locked up only to see it friggin' explode just before I rifle.
  10. Easiest thing to do is the second you get in the pit call the ground crew and tell them to turn on the ground power. As soon as they do that turn on the CDU and it will start to align. now you can take your time starting the engs and confirming weapons settings. In fact if you do it this way I bet you'll not be able to complete the start up sequence before the CDU aligns. Just remember to tell the crew chief to turn off the ground power before taxi, otherwise he'll yell at you.
  11. Hummm how do the you tube tags work on this board?
  12. Irene, I say again Irene! Weeeee time to check those preps boys and girls, check the gas levels and generator status. Last time we had one like this, we here in Southern Maryland lost power for 7 days.
  13. I had that problem too, if the targets are close enough together and you have enough range to them you, can simply lock up, fire, then slew the Mav seaker head, lock again, and fire again. This is a heck of a lot harder then it sounds and normally has to be done while flying strait and level while in auto-pilot, with lots of range to the targets. The way I do it now is to lock the first target at least 20 miles out with the TGP and make it a SPI. Then I slave the Mav seeker to the TGP and then make the mav seeker SOI. Then as I get into range with the Mav I "bump" the Mav crosshairs and normally it locks right up. Then rifle. Now comes the tricky part. I quickly switch the TGP back to SOI pick a new tgt make it a SPI, slave the Mav . . . rinse and repeat. Most I have ever been able to hit on a single pass this way was 3 tanks only cause the 4th started moving when I killed the third and wasn't where I expected it to be. It takes practice, LOTS of practice. The Thrustmaster MFD controllers made this so much easier for me BTW, I would suggest you look into getting a couple.
  14. To quote someone I once heard in a DCS A10 youtube training video " The TGP is the most powerful weapon in the simulation". I laughed at the time, being a newbie, but the more I learned the more I KNEW he was right. It might not actually fire anything but it damn sure is worth it's weight in gold. Learn to use the TGP for the love of God learn to use the TGP lol.
  15. Having a two stage trigger is almost essential, stage one initiates PAC-1 and stage two fires the cannon. When aiming with the two stage trigger you simply click in and out of PAC-1 to refine your aim.
  16. Is it done yet?
  17. Grrrrr Okay fine, I guess I'll wait.:joystick:
  18. I'm confused, first off what does WIP stand for? Second is that the new animation in the most recent patch? If not how would one get that animation?
  19. You said which do you prefer. Well it all depends, CCRP is more accurate but CCIP is a whole lot more fun. I selected CCRP for the accuracy but when I fly I use CCIP as much as possible because it's fun as hell. Dive pickle bank flare flare flare - Weeeeee :joystick:
  20. Anyone else getting Database errors when using search on the boards or is it just me?:helpsmilie:
  21. I ran into this problem too, I don't think its a bug. I'm sure there's a reason for it. I corrected the situation on the fly by bore-sighting all sensors, then re-slaved to SPI. It's happened a couple of times and the above corrected the situation every time.
  22. That was going to be my next question. How do you rewind a track?
  23. LOL well which is it? :joystick:
