I don't want to start a new thread about this , so Im putting it in here . Hope its ok ? There was a mod around that changed the airport static Mi-8 to a more eye pleasing heli ..... I cant find it and , will it work with 1/2/7 ? Thanks in advance .

I got Tir5 and a TMWH .... and I try to use keyboard for rudder.... I tried to map the mini joystick to rudder .... but found it to be well sensitive . Next week I will possibily buy a set of pedals ..... if all goes well . I want the Saitek combat ones ?

I don't know if I have the patience for this ... I just cant get the thing to work . Maybe its because I don't have pedals ..... yet !

Generally the only reason you get what we call smoking fasteners are because of a leak , especially one under pressure . Like the fuselage on a pressurised aircraft . The pressure on the inside of the fuse will blow on a dodgy fastener . Now dodgy doesn't mean dangerous . For example ..... on a large airbus repair you are allowed 10% dodgy rivits , not in the same area obviously . Example ..... If I put in a dodgy rivet ..... I will change it if I can , If the rivet is in a real nasty spot , drill it out and try again . If it happens again I take an educated guess and say leave it , solvent clean it and cover it with a sealant called PR1422 B1/2 . Repeated drilling out of a fastener enlarges the hole each time no matter how carefull you are ..... then you have to imagine that you take the hole up to the next overside if you can or to the next nominal size . Then think about the edge distance from the centre of the hole to the edge of the material ..... possibily you will loose edge distance requiring a repair on the inside ..... so yes , sometimes we leave in a didgy rivet . Another reason a fastener might smoke is that its not in fact properly countersunk , or CSK to the wrong depth or in fact angle ..... we use 82 , 100 , 130 degree in aircraft and not household 90 degree angle . Hope this enlightens you to smoking rivets ..... and other structure questions you can throw at me if you like .

These 2 have been done . Whenever the A-7 is released it will have several versions , probably a D and an E . A-10C - A-10A SU-25 - SU-25T

I just had a thought . When Nevada is released it will give us a desert terrain to play about with . Take a look at the possible countries that could be involved ..... all the liveries that need doing for . Turkey , Syria , Egypt , Israel , Jordan , Iran , Iraq ..... Anyone know how many Airbases will be on the Nevada map ? That could be a show stopper . Maybe if they released a desert map as opposed to a Nevada map ..... it might be quicker /

Your kiddin right ? The Herk is the backbone tactical delivery aircraft ..... spending time certainly being shot at and they pressurise it ..... the TWATS !!! Ive worked on many a Herk and they always carry damage especially in the main landing gear bulkhead and the skins around the cargo door and the door itself . ..... never seen a clean one except for new or fresh overhaul .

I started with an X52pro . I would go for the TM Warthog if I were you . It has a lovely feel , easy to programme unlike that Saitek X52pro ..... plenty of buttons and switchs ..... I have no issue with grease . The throttle may be plastic but it is built rugged ..... and it is designed on a real HOTAS . If you have the A-10C module its plug and play ..... setup a profile for an F-15C in 15 minutes complete . There is some guy in the for sale thread intending to offer different style joysticks that will mate with the TMWH joystick base . He is already asking about interest in an F-18C stick . So for me the TMWH has more potential . I believe that the 65X can be a right bitch to get the feel of with those sensors . I cant see how anything beats the TMWH . Perhaps a little pricy but in the end you get what you pay for . Hope this was helpful .

As there is a vote for a Charlie model ..... I think the 212 has more development potential , twin engine , faster , lift more . Cast your votes ladies and gentlemen . Obviously I voted for the 212 .

I would prefer a 212/UH-1N ..... better lifting capacity and faster .

There is a button in the setup called ..... turn off audible warnings . It turns off the audible warning believe it or not . Now ..... go and buy A-10C !!! I had the same experience ..... was away from flight sims for almost 15 years ..... I had quite the shock too . The truth be told , it is really a brilliant sim , even if I do bitch about it sometimes . Welcome back .

I remember this years ago . I was working in Hahn AFB a couple years ago . Its retired from military service now but some of the American forces stazed behind , married locals , stuff like that . The storeman was telling me just how busy Hahn AFB was at that time , they didn't have hardened shelters for all the aircraft , new wings arriving from USA daily and the base on top alert with patrols out looking for spetnaz assault groups with dogs ..... and we never even knew it !!! Must finish looking at this documentary .... thank you .
