lockon is cheap to get so no need to worry. It's the availability that is the problem and the lack of a digital download anywhere outside of the US. I've ordered a second hand physical copy from the US for 3USD plus shipping and live in New Zealand. My only fear is that FC3 will come out before I get my copy of lockon.

But an AFM is something that is tuned and refined over time isn't it? Even the DCS A10 AFM was tweaked with the latest patch, so was in a simpler state before being upgraded. (now the plane shakes when pulling high G manoeuvres ). By this logic it would be possible to start off with a simpler flight model and upgrade it over time would it not?

So no way to have some parts of the flight model SFM while others AFM? Can't you just copy and paste the SFM into the AFM and make gradual improvements over time?

and you know this how? Surely there must be some middle ground in flight model that will occur with all these 3rd party developers releasing modules for DCS World. How exactly do we define SFM versus AFM? Are they completely mutually exclusive?

Definitely something I'll be buying. Hoping for aircraft carrier/FARP reloading/refuelling as well.

If you want to know where the TGP is tracking when tracking aircraft, then simply use air to ground mode. Works like a charm.

Why only the US. Is there any way of getting ubi to sell it online to everybody? Surely they want to cash in on FC3 by making it as easy as possible for people to get it.

The comment was more in reference to the fact that having an obstacle that includes ordering a physical copy of a game online and installing it to play an add-on for another application seems like a lot of work in today's digital environment in which people are used to just hitting the buy button, installing something and then being able to play it. I don't mind myself because I'm totally dedicated to ED and the work they do, but having to explain how to get the game to my friends is going to end up with them not being bothered to jump through hoops just to play it - not good for a niche genre that wants to expand its market share to curious new-comers as much as possible. Can't we just buy a CD key for our accounts for LOMAC that comes with FC3 as a package?

I hope they make it so you can buy a LOMAC CD key online. Getting a physical copy of the game is going to be a challenge for a lot of people.

Well said. Knowing my money is going towards a company dedicated to refining and building an under-represented PC gaming genre makes the transaction completely painless.

The only annoying thing is we need to buy and install the original lock on (which many people don't have) that will essentially just sit itself down on your hard drive and sit there like an over talkative aunty at a dead relative's funeral: you want to wipe it off completely, but you need it to be there. Where can we buy and download lockon online for cheap? Will there be a package price for both of them? On another note: totally excited for the game's release. Now we can finally have dogfights worth talking about instead of spamming mavericks at each other.

3d vision works with the latest version of world. I hope they sort out the performance issues before the occulus rift comes out though.
