  1. Ok, a month ago I had only Lockon (original) and a few other sims as I had been on the ED starforce fence for several years. This last month I have bought Flaming cliffs 2, Black Shark, A10c, a 21.5" touchscreen, joyloc clamps (had to pay a lot in customs) and a Saitek Quadrant. So yeah, I can sympathize. Hehe. Its a whooole lot of fun though  Yeah, the only real reason for going 2600k is hyperthreading, but you probably wont use that much anyways.
  2. I know it doesnt help, but that sucks :( Hope you get it sorted out mate. PS: Stop using lousy parts in otherwise excellent pieces of hardware TM and you others!
  3. Edit: Never mind. I just ordered it :) (For reference): Ok, so I'm seriously bitten by the sim bug these days. Like stated in the title I already got a full CH products setup and also trackir (plus recently a touch screen). However I feel that there is always room for improvement without going the more resource demanding pit route (for now), so I am considering getting a Saitek Quadrant for my setup (http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/quad.html). Is there much sense to this? In addition to modern fighter sims I do play a bit of Il-2, RoF and the likes now and then (fuel mixture and prop angle). There also obviously are the throttles in Black Shark that does not feel quite right without hardware control, and my CH pro throttle works as a collective stick in that one. Perhaps its possible to set the quadrant up for landing gear action or flaps in some of the games as well? While originally I were considering the CH quadrant throttle for its ability to merge with the other controls, its way too expensive (quite a bit more than any of the other components) so I'm looking at the Saitek due to its 1/5 of the CH price. Would I be better off waiting and getting a CH? I'm basically posting this to get some common sense, as I know I can "take off" (litterally) a bit when it comes to hardware at times.:pilotfly: Any thoughts on this? Edit: Is it possible to use the main CH throttle as normal in a10c, but then to switch and use separate throttles on the quadrant if something should happen to one of the engines (fire etc.)?
  4. lol. good one. unfortunately my friends are all impatient blokes that would think that the planes in the Battlefield series are more than complicated enough
  5. Wow. Great stuff. Actually were able to get my loz profile up and running with extremely little hassle by using that link. All instruments working, and mfd's plus clock etc. placed at correct places. Thanks for the link mate. PS: Had to manually edit MFCD_init.lua and put in the part mentioned in this post to get the mfd's up and running. Confusing but seems like not everyone has to do that. Worked for me at least.
  6. 64 and never looking back (16 gigs of system memory)
  7. Yeah. Although, I did buy all three titles during these two-three last weeks, so its bad timing simply :) Althoguh, as I said I think ED deserves every penny they got from me.
  8. I do have bunch of games on Steam, but frankly when it comes to games that apply mods and such (like when using touchbuddy, helios etc) I think its just as well to have non-steam versions installed. If not, be sure to turn off auto updating in the actual steam app, as it may "fix" whatever you have changed in a worst case scenario :)
  9. I completely agree :) Also in a small niche such as this, giving my "hard earned money" to these dedicated sim makers simply feels even better at full price (normally I buy games at discounts). Now, two things remining before I feel complete: 1. Fix night vision goggles in black shark with two or more monitors. 2. Update of easy monitor configurator from icemaker, for usage with helios and Loz's profile for a10. Those .lua files makes my head spin.
  10. Just wanted to give potential new buyers a heads up. Black Shark and a-10C Warthog is being sold on steam at 33% off its original price, respectively 26.66€ (originally 39.99€) for Black Shark and A-10 is going at 33.33€ (from 49.99€). Dont know what the USD price is, but I guess its about the same in dollars. The offer will last two weeks and ends 12th August. Edit: Ongoing rebates now also on the DCS and LOMAC site: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop&lang=en and http://lockon.co.uk/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop Cheers. PS: It kind of sucks that I found out this today, as I went ahead and purchased a-10 from the ED site just two hours before spotting this sale, and I bought Black Shark very recently as well. Could have had both on Steam... Then again this leaves more money for ED I should think, and also I already got hundreds of games on Steam already. Starting to clutter ;)
  11. Just tested as well and same problem here. Running touchpal on right screen (physically placed left but placed right in win7) with shkval and abris included, and this leads to stretching of the main lcd. Right screen is not affected, neither the touchpal controls or the shkval or abris. Anyone have compared the files in previous patches with the new ones? Here is to hoping that ED will fix this some time in not too long.
  12. Late bloomer, but wanted to give my utmost thanks if you're listening Gadroc. I LOVE what you did with Dastardly's profiles. Having played sims on and off for 20+ years this touch screen business is a boyish dream come true. Using it on a 22 inch touch screen and it looks great.
  13. Old thread but thanks a bunch man. Didnt know where to start to get rid of those errors. Basically finally registered here to say this :) +rep if I could. Cheers
