I deserve to win because someday I would like to be awesome, and this will get me that much closer.

Maybe a sound issue, I don't know. There is a definite "hiss" sound that starts as you accelerate and the needle passes over the landing gear minimum speed marker on the airspeed gauge. Then goes away as you slow down through that same marker. Landing gear are up throughout.

Does anyone know if you buy the F5 now, can you immediately use the bonus points toward a purchase of Nevada? Might be a dumb question...

Count me in for the contest. If I win, I'm sure a divorce is in my future, but it would be WORTH IT!!! -

Update to Dora Pre-Purchase Annoucement
Blarney replied to NineLine's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Could someone please post the link to the forum where it says DCS: World and DCS:WW2 are separate games? I understand the concept of not having availability to the Dora until DCS:WW2 is released if you've pledged less than $40, but under the logic of two different games, that means that those who currently have the P-51D and use it in DCS:World will have to buy another copy to use in DCS:WW2. There is so much hearsay and speculation on this forum, I don't believe much that doesn't come from Wags or one of the developers. -
Update to Dora Pre-Purchase Annoucement

I could have patted myself on the back for way cheaper than $20. Now the love part, that usually costs more according to what kind of love you're looking for. :) -
Update to Dora Pre-Purchase Annoucement
Blarney replied to NineLine's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I backed at $20 and was able to select four flyables, one of which is the Dora. I wonder what ED is going to for those of us who backed less than $40 since that is the only dollar amount mentioned. -
Soooooo cool. Really great work. When is the show?

F15C Profile issues with the X55
Blarney replied to Tosher's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just got my X-55 today. I did NOT install the HUD software, just the drivers. No issues with any sim so far. If you're going to use the HOTAS for DCS only, I highly recommend not installing the HUD software. Map the buttons and switches from within DCS. -
X-55 Rhino Hotas Issues and Problems
Blarney replied to Raven434th's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just got my X-55 today. I installed the drivers, but not the HUD software. DCS recognizes the HOTAS perfectly, it calibrates dead center, and all buttons are immediately responsive. It might be because I have one of the newer batches directly from Saitek and they've fixed some of the issues, but if you're only using the HOTAS with DCS, I highly recommend NOT installing the HUD software. Install the drivers only. -
I don't think it's about landing on the carrier successfully. It's more about do the circles on the HUD work correctly and if so, what are we doing wrong? Are those circles designed to guide you right onto the deck?
-
I have the same questions. It seems like lining up the circles and trying to fly through them works from far away, but as you get closer to the carrier, the circles diverge. If I follow the larger one, it takes me too high and I pass over the carrier. If I follow the small circle, I slam into the back of the ship.

Looks fantastic!! Nice work!

Awesome. Thanks!

Zaltys, if you know what the button mapping is on the HOTAS, can you post it?
-
I made a note in my original post that the HOTAS should be credited to the Su-35, not the Pak-Fa. *sigh* So...about the translation. Can anyone do it?
-
This says it is the most likely candidate for the T-50, as well as being in the 35. http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-2010-01.html

Tried Google. I could only get a few words.
-
Found this on the 'Air Power Australia Analysis' website. Any chance someone can translate it into English? (attached) EDIT: I guess I should have put this in the "Military and Aviation" section? EDIT 2: Please ignore the thread title. It should read "Su-35 HOTAS".

Yeah, but it leaves a bit of a hole. Nevada costs, so it seems like it will be a module to DCS: World. The Black Sea will not be ported over to EDGE. So...what will the DCS: World free download be? BTW, Cichlidfan, are you ever not reading this forum? :smilewink:

So Nevada is going to cost... I saw on Wags' Youtube post of the latest Nevada video that the map is going to cost. That's fine. But where does that leave the Black Sea? Will it be ported over to EDGE? Will there be a new map with the free DCS: World download? Will the free map use EDGE? Curiosity is killing me...
