Suggestion for Mission 3 Briefing
cuervo111 replied to cuervo111's topic in P-51D Operation Charnwood Campaign
I missed that in the pictures! Anyway, glad to know it will be included in the text I like the sound of "in a future campaign" :) Thank you! -
Hi. I'm really glad I finally took the time to learn a WWII bird, I'm really enjoying the campaign. A small suggestion for mission 3 briefing. There is another bridge very close to the one that should be attacked. It is a railway bridge. I know because I bombed it and I then I realised the rest of my flight was bombing another one :music_whistling: I think it'd be nice to inform about that in the briefing. Maybe even point at it in the pictures? Thanks!

The strange thing is that this was fine a month ago...
-
So you think it's related to AA? Any word from the devs on this?
-
If some mod could please move this to the bug and problems forum, that'd be great. I didn't realise it was there :)

Hi all, Since the last updates (or probably the second to last ones) both in 1.5 and 2.2 it seems like anti aliasing is not applied to the flight instruments. I have tried with different MSAA settings, both in sim and with the NVIDIA control panels. I have the lastest drivers. In 2.0 it happens both with and without deffered shading. Other aircraft see fine (I checked the F-15 and the Huey). This issue makes some instruments unusable for me at my usual zoom levels, especially the HSI. It is really weird because AA is definitely applied to the rest of the rendering, it is just the instruments. Am I the only one with this issue?

lua predicate function doesn't work in 1.5 beta
cuervo111 replied to wolle's topic in Mission Editor Bugs
Any news on this? Still not working years later! -
Hi, I am trying this campaign and I'm finding navigation quite challenging with the given flightplan and the limitations of the F-5. Specifically, the northwest part of the flight plan, waypoints Flush to Belted Peak or so, since I can't reach 12X from there (at least at altitudes up to 25k or so). Wouldn't it be easier to navigate if the waypoint references would be given in relation to BTY which is much closer? Not only distance wont be a problem but angular changes will be bigger between waypoints making it a bit easier to visualize where you are. What do you guys think?

I hope so as well Exorcet. NeilWillis, actually joining an squadron is something I might consider in the not so near future... I had great times flying online with F/A-18 and the first not so few iterations of Falcon4. Oh the old times! :)
-
That's a fair point, whatever floats your boat. However, I have very limited time to devote to flight simming and I want to spend that time flying, not designing missions. I actually designed a few missions in the past, like 15 years ago, but nowadays I have zero interest in buying a flight simulator and then having to spend my time in a mission editor. It has nothing to do with a lack of creativity, I can assure you. And I bet there are lots of customers like me. I also think it makes little sense from a business perspective. It is like investing a lot in creating a super detailed aircraft and then missing the oppotunity to sell it to a lot of people for lack of content. Or at least I would assume more people would buy the module if it had the content... my 2 cents
-
That's a pity. I really hope ED and all the other devs start to pay more attention to content. Buying planes without anything to do with them is almost like buying a new Kindle without any books on it.
-
Fair enough, but it is this feeling of not caring enough. It seems unprofessional, IMHO. As a proffessional, I could never send a document with this kind of WIP stuff on it and call it finished.
-
Agreed. I love the plane and I think Belsimtek are great developers but having an unfinished manual in a product that is considered released and finished is just a bad joke.
-
Yeah I saw that... and that's precisely the reason I asked because that is the only content I found, and it is not even designed for the 39!
-
Hi, I was considering buying this module. However it seems like there is not much content for it, right? No missions, no campaigns... Is this supposed to be strictly a plane for doing training without any content apart from the training missions? Are there any plans for some combat missions. Maybe some challenges like formation flying?

Hi! I reported a bug a month ago now, and it got no reply at all from the devs. I am not expecting to get stuff fixed immediately, but one month to get at least an acknowledgment is not unreasonable IMHO. My report is not the only one that didn't get any reply, as I can see. Is this to be expected? Do the devs take note of the bugs and just release fixes without replying to the reports. Is there a better way to report them? Thanks

[REPORTED] landing with retracted nose gear
cuervo111 replied to cuervo111's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes, but it doesn't make it less of a bug. The invisible landing gear shouldn't hold the nose! ;) -
Hi, Well, first of all congrats for the final release. It is a pleasure to fly the sabre. I found a weird issue the other day. I deployed the landing gear and the front gear got stuck. I tried moving it up and down again but it got stuck up. I guess I deployed it when I was still flying too fast... Anyway, when I landed it looked like the gear was half deployed. The nose of the plane was not touching the ground, as you can see in the image. Is this a known issue?
-
I appreciate all that and I'm glad to see relatively recent progress but I don't feel it answers the question. Hopefully we will get some info from Belsimtek?
-
Hi all, Any news or ideas about when the final release will be made? I am honestly quite baffled by what seems like perpetual beta status in some DCS aircraft. Is progress being made towards a final release? What is left to be done, apart from English documentation? I bought the aircraft knowing it was a beta and there were no promises about final release dates, so please don't understand this as a rant.

Hi, I updated DCS today and the Mig21 looks really weird, like some textures are misplaced. Has anyone experienced this? I might post a screenshot tomorrow Thanks!

Opening the briefing makes the player's plane AI controlled
cuervo111 replied to vliegtuig's topic in General Bugs
Agreed, happened to me to and don't even realised how I got there. -
Same here. It actually only happened once so far. Navigating the GUI was really really slow. I went back into the sim just to see if it performed badly but seemed fine. When I finished the flight and went back to the menus they were still extremely sluggish.
