MiG-21 used to be my favorite ride... can't stand it now
cuervo111 replied to streakeagle's topic in MiG-21Bis
I'm curious to know how did you get that data? Is there some tool to extract performance data and plot it? -
+1 Great explanation Pikey. Some feedback about the issue from ED would be very welcome
-
Oh, thanks for letting us know. Do you know if it has been reported?
-
+1! Actually this is not the only mission where something similar happens. I just loaded another one and the aircraft is sliding bacwards and forwards and also to the right.

Hey guys, So some time ago I had the idea to use an automatic translation service for DCS missions. I think it's a pity we cannot enjoy all the fantastic community content out there due to a language barrier so I have been working on this project for a while now. Go get it here! https://github.com/rgargente/dcsrosetta/releases Instructions Get a free Yandex translator key You only have to do this the first time you run the program. Go to https://tech.yandex.com/translate/ and apply for a free API key. You will have to sign up if you haven't done so before. Once you have the key, select and copy it, and run DCS Rosetta. Translating missions and campaigns Run DCSRosetta.exe and paste your Yandex key in the corresponding field. The application will save it for future use. Load any DCS mission or campaign, select the appropriate languages and click on translate. That's it! You just have to wait for a while. The translated mission will have both the original and translated text inside. DCS World will load the most approapriate language based on your system settings. How about a coffee? Did you know a software developer is an organism that transforms caffeine into code? This is free and open source software, but if you want to buy me some coffee I would appreciate it :) This is my paypal: http://paypal.me/rgargente

Mission 8 Escorting Turkish F-16s don't fly back home
cuervo111 replied to cuervo111's topic in F-15C The Georgian War
Ah OK! Sorry I guess i didn't search well enough. Thanks for letting me know -
I'm really enjoying this campaign so far! Even with the limited number of roles the Eagle can perform the missions feel varied and engaging. I found something weird in the transport escorting mission. Aren't the Turkish jets supposed to fly back home after being relieved? I just finished the mission and after scaring off the MiGs the go back to formation with the C-17 and flew all the way to Kutaisi with it. Actually, they landed first! Am I missing something?

No save game function frustrating for busy DCS fans

A quick question! Will the training missions be upgraded to reflect these changes? If so, can we expect them to be updated at roughly the same time as the plane itself? Thanks!

I really liked this campaign so I wanted to give some feedback and also say I'd welcome more like it! Even if missions are really simple given the nature of the campaign, they are quite immersive and you feel like there are other things going around. I think it made me a better virtual pilot! I only miss some explanations about when to use each attack maneuvre and the advantages and disavantages of each one.

Mission 7 failure conditions too harsh?
cuervo111 replied to cuervo111's topic in F-15C 16-2 Red Flag Campaign
I didn't try again sorry. The only tip I have is being very precise with the timings. TBH I just skipped the mission after trying several times -
Hey guys, I'm really enjoying this campaign so far, and I am learning a lot about ground attack! I just finished the 2nd rocket attack mission: the one with the loft attack profile. I wish the campaign explained more about when to use this profile vs the combat turn one (the one from the previous mission). My intuition is that this one keeps you at a larger distance from the target more time, and limits the time you are vulnerable, but on the other hand it gives you less time to aim and it is harder to perform. Am I correct? Any other considerations?

Yes I was coming here to report that it was a bug fixed in that update, as confirmed by virpil support. Thanks!
-
Hey, I wrote Virpil support about this issue but thought I would share the issue here in case anyone else is suffering it. And also I'll share the solution if I find it. I'd appreciate feedback from the community too! I'll just copy the message here: I am having an issue with my throttle. It has happened with the default profile and also with profiles I've created. The logical buttons assigned to physical buttons 36, 38 and 40 are registering presses without me touching the throttle at all. It happens every 10 seconds or so and it seems to be random. The three button presses are registered at the same time. I can't see the effect in the physical buttons in VPC but I do see it in the VPC tester tool and they register in DCS as well.

How to create a simple pinky shift button?
cuervo111 replied to cuervo111's topic in VIRPIL Controls
My goodness I didn't know you can do that! Silly me. THanks guys! :pilotfly: -
Awesome stuff!

Hi guys, I'm just starting to configure my brand new T50 stick and throttle and I'm struggling with things that used to be very easy with my old Cougar. I am just trying to use the pinkie switch as a shift button so that some other button has two different functions. For example I usually map a hat to trim, but with the pinkie pressed hat up will zoom in and hat down will zoom out. I have managed to set it up so that when I press the pinkie the zoom in function is working, via a logical button. However the trim is also modified! The VPC tester shows all three buttons pressed (the pinkie, the originally mapped button, and the new one). I need to set it up so that only one function is active at a time. Any help would be appreciated

Cool! There is still something strange going on with the campaign... I have flown a couple of missions and skipped two or 3 more and it is always the same mission at different times. A CAP to the west. Nothing seem to happen... Does anything in particular need to happen during the mission in order to move forward and get different missions?

Yes it works now. Funny how I didn't notice that even after checking the paths 100 times  I noticed only the modded sanitized script is in the mods folder. There were other files before, is that the way it should be, or are there files missing? Thanks!!!!
