  1. Personally I use button 3 on left aux bank as vr zoom, not that I feel I need it in most circumstances. In fact 5 of the 6 of the aux buttons are general key bindings - time accelerate/ normal, cockpit view, external view bindings and NVGs for pretty much every DCS module I have. I take it the fcu buttons are hardcoded and can’t be changed or is that something that may be completely user customisable in the future? For instance using buttons 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 together on separate left or right fcu giving multiple options for a key bind (if required). For my issue that may be ideal as what I need it for doesn’t actually have a key bind - so I could leave it. Or maybe there is a way to use a joystick button along with an fcu button press, like a macro(?) ie joystick button + Left fcu button 1 = fcu button 2. Just an idea for a workaround for modules that don’t have key bindings. I know it’s difficult with limited buttons (and people having and not having aux button banks) and trying to get the best from everyone’s ideas!! Especially when you have ideas yourself that you want to implement. Would it maybe be an idea to sell the whole thing together as a package - PointCTRL and aux banks? Cheers
  2. Yeah, that's the gist of it Miles. So IRL you'd press the knob (wait for the flag to go), rotate and release the knob. On the the left FCU you'd press button on 1 (wait for the flag to go), then press button 2 simultaneously as button 1 then rotate and release. Used to work like that perfectly on the old firmware before the new AUX button firmware. ps there's no actual key binding assignment in game for this gauge and therefore has to be used using the mouse. I have to say that start up and flying works perfectly fine without the use of this gauge but then what's the point? I'm a sucker for procedural sims! lol I couldn't get it to work like that with this particular gauge, but thanks - I tried in the P-51 as well as the Gazelle for the same gauge. But you know the problem though - you can use left mouse button (or button 1 on FCU) and scroll the mouse wheel to uncage the ADI- this works and still does. But you used to be able to do it one handed like irl I've got a feeling you may not be using the new AUX button bank firmware? Cheers

  4. Not quite Miles. Basically pressing button 2 while pressing button 1 at the same time releases button 1 so they both don't work at the same time - that probably sums it up. lol. So at the moment I can press FCU button 1 and scroll the Standby ADI with the actual mouse wheel (but that loses immersion for me). It seems only an issue to uncage this particular indicator where both buttons need to be pressed simultaneously. Once it is uncaged (flag removed) it can be set as normal using button 2 like the main artifical horizon (which doesn't need to be uncaged using both buttons 1 and 2 together. Cheers
  5. New chargers arrived today, thanks. Miles, just wondering if you had a chance to check the issue I had with the FCUs and using it to control the Gazelle standby ADI? Cheers
  6. And I bet a force feedback stick is also in the works??!! And a helicopter collective. :smilewink:
  7. Wrong thread I know, but do you think you'll be able to make a force sensing stick base like the RealSimulator one, that's not quite as expensive?
  8. Check out Hegykc on this forum as well. He was around a few years ago making some digital mockups, but nothing materialised due to inferior quality machines at the time. He’s back using some new equipment and he has some amazing looking actual prototypes of some warbird throttle quadrants being tested a Croatian(?) online squadron. Anyways, in one of the photos on his thread it looks like he has an F-16 throttle. So maybe sometime in the future.......
  9. Yeah, same here to the UK. By the way the red spring adjustment looks absolutely spot on, you really are on a roll with all these mods you're doing, Hegykc
  10. F410, is there a dcs export to provide a motor response in the jetseat when landing a helicopter? At least I don’t get that feeling when I land in the gazelle which I mainly fly. Cheers
  11. Thanks Miles, will do. Out of curiosity, when the new v2 version comes out, is it just the FCUs or is it a new improved HMS as well?
  12. Melted cable Hi, Miles, I’ve got a problem - my PointCTRL charging cable has melted!! Not sure how it’s happened, I keep it plugged in to a StarTech.com hub and never had any problems with it. It’s the only cable to have melted, so strange one. Now, the light doesn’t come on and the hub doesn’t recognise it. Have you heard of this happening before? Hope you can see in the attached photo
  13. I'm sure he said he's mainly interested in doing the FM. Another forum member has offered to help with textures although I don't know if that's going ahead.
  14. Late to the game again!! If you need anymore heli pilots to try these bad boys out, I'll try them, they look solid and more appropriate for my needs.
  15. Cool stuff, looking forward to it. Remember though that we do have Combined Arms!! We can drive too. :smilewink:
  16. Probably not the right thread to ask but if you're doing pedal mods, I see you're also trying out the damper (in the picture anyways) - how's that working out? And finally, any chance of a mod that makes the toe brakes act more realistic ie firmer the more you press. Cheers Gazelle pedals are also cool!!
  17. These sound great - sure why Milan of MSG hasn’t had the chance to do so in the last couple of years. Any chance you’ll make some some for us chopper guys - the Huey ones should be fairly straight forward I’d think. Cheers
  18. Hi, I know it's only a free mod but any chance you could add the Ah-6J to the list please, F410?
  19. Not quite right on the first part, Miles. On the standard mouse I can press and hold the left button only and use the scroll wheel to centre the standby ADI. Your second part is correct though - I used to be able to press button 1 on the left FCU (to remove the flag) while at the same time pressing button 2 to allow a rotate the FCU (or move the FCU up and down to centre the standby ADI. Sounds like you know what the issue is and can hopefully rectify it. Thanks for checking, Miles
  20. RAlt and Num0 is usually the save function for recentre I believe
  21. Yeah, it seems to act differently from the last firmware. I haven't re-calibrated it as it usually works fine with a new firmware update. The twisting of the wrist is only maybe 25-30 degrees so is fine for what I need in this situation - in most other situations I do as you say and click and move up or down to turn a knob. Unfortunately it seems that pressing button 2 while holding down button 1 seems to deselect button 1 is if both can't be selected at the same time. To operate the standby ADI you need to keep the button pressed while simultaneously scrolling the mouse wheel. I've been doing this using the FCU's since buying PointCTRL in the gazelle without issue until installing the button banks so maybe something has changed (maybe even in DCS itself) or maybe i need to re-install the firmware. It would be interesting to find out if anyone else who flies the the gazelle finds this problem just rule out me being a div! Unfortunately I don't know of another module that uses this procedure so I can't try it elsewhere.
  22. The following started since I uploaded the new firmware for the AUX buttons. Ok, got a minor problem, I wonder if someone else can check. In the Gazelle where you have the standby ADI caging knob, I used to be able to press button 1 on the left FCU to remove the flag, then pressing button 2 at the same time i could twist my wrist left to centre the ADI so when I let go the ADI would remain uncaged. It doesn't do that now. As soon as I press button 2 the flag comes back because it's overiding button 1. In fact I can't uncage the the standby ADI at all now this way. I've tried keeping button 1 pressed and moving the fcu up and down without luck. It still works with left mouse button/ scroll wheel but that's immersion breaking. Hope it's something easy to fix on my part. Any ideas? Cheers
  23. Anyone know if there's a way to get simshaker to work with this mod? I keep getting simshaker error messages while flying
  24. Can't contribute anything other than moral support. This is a great mod and thanks fore sharing. The controls are excellent, 100 times better than the gazelle around the centre of the stick - I can actually feel like I can control this. Well done, lad
