    It’s a third party module so it will be up to Urga Media to apply any performance/ mapping improvements (it certainly needs it). I can’t see it happening until well after the Syria map is complete and optimised.

    And the FOV is probably bigger then the CV1 now!! I was doing this earlier tonight so I’m going steal some black craft foam from the daughter and tape it to the side and top and the bridge of the one area of the S. I’m sure someone will come out with a more professional looking system though! Lol

    Not sure if it’s the same thing, sometimes I’d come off the carrier in the hornet and I’d go into a 70-80 degree uncontrollable climb and no amount of forward stick would help. I’d noticed similar a few times in a few modules - Hornet, spitfire and the Hog, I can’t remember if others. And oddly what I’ve found is that if I cycle the flaps before launch/ take off - I don’t know why but it seems to rectify it. Hasn’t done it in a little while mind you so not sure if it was an update glitch.

    I’m hoping someone will come out with a comfortable much thinner foam as when I push in the S to my face there is an extra few degrees fov (maybe equivalent to the cv1?) without any comfort issues

    Looks fabulous for the environment. I wonder though does the engine also provide the necessary coding capabilities that ED requires for Module FMs, weapon ballistics etc, or is that a completely different thing?

    If you’re in the UK, Argos is where it’s at. I luckily found one in Glasgow yesterday available to collect straight away or a few other available to collect the following day. I couldn’t wait so drove the 25 miles to go and pick it up (even though I work 5 minutes away and could have picked it up today!). Check their website out and put your postcode in.

    Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves hoping for an extra 50% performance increase. There’s gonna be a lot of variables and a lot of different hardware configurations that we have. I’d reckon (without any technical knowledge on the matter) we’ll see maybe 25-30% increase for those with a half decent rig. Any more will be a bonus.

    Yeah, I got an S yesterday and agree. And I even find the sound very acceptable too. Just thinking Miles, an idea to completely remove the possibility of top mounted camera obstruction may be to redesign a mount for the HMS to fit fully onto the front face of the HMD without it being a corner piece (although I don’t know how the electrics are positioned inside the casing. This could maybe work for all HMDs i suppose too. Something maybe to think aboutif you decide on future a v2 version. Or maybe you’ve already thought of that and it doesn’t work! Lol

    Is there a way to control the volume of the squelches when the comms button is pressed? I’ve tried the volume knob in the control panel but it doesn’t seem to work. Any ideas? Ta muchly.

    Does the new firmware cancel the previous calibration? Also can different profiles be saved, in say My Documents?

    Yes, Miles can push through a firmware update to make any software changes if needed for the HMS.

    Ok, got my Rift S today and am also seeing these white (no black) flashes. I have an internal Inatek 4 port USB 3.0 and an external Startech.com powered hub so I’ll try plugging into these tomorrow and see if it makes a change with differing port periphals.

    Would a thick piece of foam stuck to the front of the S bring the HMS out far enough to not block the camera?

    Ok, cheers for that, chaps, that was helpful again. Now (thinking out loud) my only problem is which new vr headset to get! Should I wait for the Index or reverb or just get the Rift S? Hmm, by getting the Rift S I’m gonna have to wait even longer until Miles redesigns the HMS mount. Ooooh, these first world problems!!

    The Spitfire has something similar - easy rudder for take offs iirc. So maybe the devs can incorporate something similar in the Specials tab for those who are beginning with the module.

    I’m sure they would absolutely. I’m also pretty sure that when ED first announced that they were making a product for the US DoD, TM would have been jumping straight on that band wagon. The publicity of working with a major military department meant making a stack load of cash in sales for TM. Doesn’t sound like ED are working closely with the DoD again with the F-16 though (they’d have said already) so I’d doubt TM would be up for making a custom hotas setup for the viper. Look how long it’s taking them to release the Hornet grip! If even that comes out it’ll be a small miracle.
