  1. OK, that's interesting. I knew that you had to be on the same frequency but I didn't know that it would work with anyone. So technically you can have as many Ka-50's in the mission and as long as 4 at a time share the same VHF AM frequency they can data link. Correct?
  2. I'm pretty sure that you have to be in the same group (ex. Enfield 1) for it to work but someone else can confirm this. Now that the builder is set up to do groups in client multiples they all share or inherit the wayoint info from the lead along with the data link info.
  3. I know you weren't aware and I wasn't ripping on you for it.:smilewink: We're friends with the 65th so I knew what airframe he was referring to.
  4. It's not in his signature but he's in the 65th and they fly the F-15C exclusively so the CMS standby isn't modeled or at least not that I know of. In all of the FC3 aircraft you can pop flares on the ground from what I've seen.
  5. Yeah, you're not the only one having trouble with this. One of our guys can't use the trim and the key bindings won't allow the trim to work either. He's tried a bunch of workarounds to try to force it to work but hasn't had any success. I think we're just going to wait for a patch and hopefully that will be soon.
  6. Download this file and run it from your desktop. Don't run DCS World. This reads from the DX inputs. If the problem exists in this visual aid then it's a problem that exists outside of DCS World. http://www.avsimrus.com/f/misc-24/dx-tweak-2-v4-30-229-1506.html?action=download&
  7. Very clever looking design!
  8. Does anyone have the original green camo skin used for the 23rd in layers or was it even available as a layer file?
  9. I always use intercom or have the door open. This is from the original Oil War campaign so the correct vehicles are there because it worked before the update. I'm glad you found that it's not working so they can look into it.
  10. I did a search and didn't find anything on this. We've been flying the multiplayer converted missions of the original Georgian Oil War and when we try to repair at the FARP the crew chief says "copy" but nothing happens. It was working fine prior to the 1.5.3 - 1.5.4 upgrade. I do have a track file but it's probably too long to use. It's close to an hour of flight time before the repair. Would this track file work or should I try to make a new one?
  11. I don't think that's the case. After I pulled out before they followed to the end of the taxi and took off but this time they just stopped. I'll try to run it again and get a track file.
  12. Yep, happened to me too. The AI A-10C's started to pull out of the parking and just stopped before pulling onto the main taxiway and that was all she wrote!
  13. The missions are working fine now at least the ones I have done.
  14. You're welcome to fly on our server with us any time. I'm in MST but we're usually on around 7PM EST. Send me a PM and we'll get you set up with TS.
  15. We found out from another group that it's a permissions issue. There are a couple different ways around it but once it's fixed UR works great. We were initially looking at Saturday's for the training but we're open to other days if your group needs it. Just hit us up with a PM so we can work it out.
  16. I can run the server for you during the day here if you want to run it on a specific day. I can even join you and do some flying with you guys if you don't mind. It's up to you. Our server can handle up to 30 clients without any problem. Let me know and we can talk about it. I fly with Snakeye during the day and he's in UK.
  17. Understood. Good conversation because it helps everyone understand how these systems work and how they're employed in realistic environments. In the reading I've done on the original Sa-15, it was Russia's answer to all the jamming that was being done in Vietnam with the EA-6B and defeating all of their Sa-2 missile systems. So they designed and built the Tor or Gauntlet in 1975 to not be subject to jamming that the US was using. It's evolved and a lot more advanced nowadays but the one in the sim is based on the one from the late 70's to early 80's or at least that's my understanding.
  18. Yeah, I had thought about that point. That's one of the reasons that the US military designed the TOW system to use a wire guidance system. There are ways to overcome jamming though. The radio guidance could be designed to scan through many frequencies and use one or multiple ones that aren't being jammed and change channels to trip up a jamming signal. It's probably pretty easy to do that with modern technology. Just a thought.
  19. Good points. I do see what you're saying. I have seen videos of people using the optical system from the sim and it seems that if they lead the target well enough they can usually score a hit. I don't know if the sight in the sim is modeled on the real life optics though. I had another thought though. I would think that they have a couple people at the controls so if the main system is being jammed then the guy looking through the optics can take over pretty quickly. Either way, they are deadly systems and it's best to not get inside their envelope or at least stay right on the outer edge.
  20. OK, I downloaded it and I'll read it when I have time. I think that what I stated earlier is correct though. If you look at my previous post 2 before this one you'll see that I stated that even if the Tor can be countered with chaff and ecm, the operator just reverts to the optical system so that's basically saying the same thing you did. In my opinion that makes chaff and ecm basically pointless against either the Sa-15 or the Sa-19. And again, you're not jamming the missile because it has no radar guidance of it's own. I don't think it's modeled quite correctly in DCS World or I should say not modeled as thorough as in real life but I could be wrong. ED may have made chaff effective say a percentage of the time to simulate what could happen if the radar operator saw that it's system was being jammed and didn't have enough time to switch to the optical system? I'm just speculating here but I have seen their missiles explode long distances behind me so that would appear to be chaff working on them. But that's impossible because the missile has no ability to track and a proximity fuse so no aircraft equals no explosion or that's what it should be anyhow. The other thought is that the proximity fuse is sensitive enough that if it comes it contact with the chaff it detonates but that would be quite a coincidence I would think.
  21. Sorry, thought me meant the radar modes.
  22. Can you please post a link to something that explains this? Everything I've read and heard about the Tor in the past was that it was developed to defeat defensive systems like jamming and chaff. It's in the beginning paragraph of this article. There's also a reference to an article in Russian if anyone can read it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tor_missile_system http://dokwar.ru/publ/voenny_vestnik/novosti_vpk/rossijskie_zenitnye_raketnye_kompleksy_tor_na_mezhdunarodnoj_aviacionno_kosmicheskoj_vystavke_aehroshou_chajna_2014/2-1-0-1534
  23. "enter" - lock target "backspace" - return to search "I" - radar on "shift + I" - Hi, Med, Interleaved modes "alt + I" - TWS, RWS modes "o" - electro optical system
  24. Hi Escaner. We run a server most evenings with all sorts of missions and a lot that don't have any air to air. You're welcome to jump on our Teamspeak as well and hang out with us. We also offer a lot of detailed training for the high fidelity systems. I'll send you a PM with our info if you want me to.
  25. That's not modeled correctly then. In real life the missile is guided by radio command from the vehicle with optical backup so there's no way to defeat with chaff. The only way to beat the system is to stay outside of the firing range envelope. Chaff and jammer might scramble the radar under ideal circumstances but the operator would just switch to the optical system. Either way if you're inside firing range you're dead.
