Yep, I was hoping for something like that... Even in BF3 we have proper bullet damage stats. There is max damage at X range and MIN damage at Y range, inbetween the damage is being interpolated. So I have a pretty good idea of how the system works. Thank's man, that's a good tip! I will try that. EDIT: Damn man, that test is useless. Abrams front and rear armor are shitty, even the T55 cracks the abrams open with 1 AP hit... :-/ Maybe I am putting them too close to eachother? What's a typical tank engagement range? 1km? 2? In that case - the IR and laser range are faulty. IR laser stops working after like 7miles, so if someone is further away than ca. 8nm you see the beam suddenly stop in the middle of the air. If laser range finders can measure distances between moon and earth why are we limited to 8nm distance before the TGP can get proper distance to the target by using his laser? -
LASTE Wind data - imperial or metric system?

Wow, how do you eject a SINGLE munition? I thought it's all or nothing! EDIT: I just got it! So eject mode: STORE - ejects store/a bomb MSL - shoots missile into nowhere rack - ejects whole rack with everything on it Awesome, thanks man! Still, having a loudout option would be better.

BTW I hosted a session today, simple dragons weapon training, I had 5 clients on, 50KB/s went out, no lag or warp or whatever. :-/ Just keep testing guys... What I wanna see: Have all people on LAN, connect to a mission that usually warps around a bit... Then let all the clients set their net stuff to THEIR personal setting, then try again. I have no idea what that will do and I also dont have the people to do it but it would be very interesting to see what happens. If warping and lagging is still there my "fix" does not do anything. I also think there is a big difference in how the game handles LAN and ADSL settings... I mean if you look at the variables - LAN and ADSL are different! So maybe in LAN mode the client & server expect a super low ping? And if that is not given -> warping? So much to test...

Thanks for the IR laser stuff guys, makes sense that it loses energy faster since it's visible, even if only with NV. Now I wonder about maximum range for TGP+laser range finding. :-/ Dude I want to hear that from a guy who actually sees the code and can confirm that. I know that in real life rear and top armor are weakest. I am testing it right now and I am having a hard time really deciding whether it's the front, back, up armor that I am hitting... Since you know, even from 0.5 miles the GAU8 sprays a bit... I just want to EXACTLY know how it works in game. So if you're not the one who coded it or has asked the coder that question recently, come off it man. -
Hey guys, is the altitude you enter in your LASTE Wind page (00, 06, 10 etc.) in meters or feet? Is 04 4000m or 4000feet? I'd like a response from someone who REALLY KNOWS... I am confused because people I talked to were claiming both... :-/ And since the LASTE page is kinda buggy (does not update winds anymore) I just want to have THAT fact clear. Thanks a lot in advance!

Thanks for the replies guys. Still open questions: If it's just a health bar does it even matter whether I attack a tank from it's back/up/front? I would love an answer from an ED employee, all the rumors here, I just dont know what to believe now. 2. And another question: How far does a laser actually go in real life? Is there a difference in RANGE between an IR laser and the "normal" one on the A-10? What is the maximum distance for a laser & TGP pod combination to get a range on a target? The 8miles ingame seem a bit short. -
Using DCS World 1.2.2.7204 , A-10C Module, latest versions. Dedicated server. 2 clients, Megagoth ping 37, bender ping 70. (But issue also exists on a host-client configuration where 1 player is also the host). If client 1 fires a rocket (explosive, WP, does not matter) the rocket will impact on a different location for the other client! This makes damage assessment unreliable and human AFACs working with WP smokes are rendered useless. VIDEO: Please report this stuff. Thanks.
