Too bad AI spots you way before you can see them... Just tried the "on the other side" mission in the campaign, pretty god damn hard when these MI24 show up and screw me over... And I was supposed to have jets do me some air superiority, bah. -
Agreed. The engine is doing it's job and I feel like a crazy badass when flying the black shark that I had no idea how to fly 2 weeks ago. The only thing that annoys me about this engine are random performance issues with certain things that randomly pop up and dev's cant track down easily so it stays in forever and we need bigger and bigger machines... :-/

Meh, just played 2 missions and my last resort was rockets. Could not use them at ALL, jesus christ my chopper keeps going left and right and getting too fast to manevuer comfortably, even without heading hold autopilot. :-/ Dammit. Can someone who think he can do it well record a track of a rocket engagement and share it? I would love to see what you do there... Thanks in advance. -
That's not too many is it. :) But they're smart so I am sure if time is given we will see products just as good as the ones we already have.

Hey guys, To aviod overwriting files and having the "backup" folder being huge on each update I am using following setup: I have the ZZZSpace sound mod installed into "DCS World\Mods\Aircrafts\SOUND". This is possible due to the entry.lua file, mine looks like this: declare_plugin("ZZZSpace Sound Mod v2 by ZZZSpace", { installed = true, dirName = current_mod_path, version = "1.2.4", state = "installed", info = _("This is an elaborate sound-realism modification for Eagle Dynamics 'DCS World', that alters key sound files in many ways, and their playback configuration has been radically revised away from standard."), }) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- mount_vfs_sound_path (current_mod_path.."/Sounds") ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- plugin_done() The problem is though that with 1.2.4 I am getting this error: 00005.597 ERROR SOUND: can't load proto file ".\mods\aircrafts\real sound v1.2 mod folder\sounds\explosions\explodeground.sdef" for many sdefs resulting in NO sound being played. What does "proto" mean? I also can not see anything wrong with the sdef files. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you very much. I thought so. Do you engage targets with guns while moving? If so - how do you do it? I tried autopilot pitch & bank hold but... It's still hard to do. :-/ -
Hey guys, I was wondering how you guys engage ground targets with unguided rockets. I know how to use the autopilot, read all of it and I am very fine cruising with it but in combat scenarios all I know is auto-hover so far... I have trouble re-programming the autopilot every tiny bit of a second just to get the pipper of my rockets on target. I tend to use Flight Director mode a lot, since it gives me more direct controls over the helo. What do YOU do? How do you employ the different weapons? Maybe even use guns on a fly by? Thanks in advance!

Regarding the questions - I will answer them today. I belive you that you can handle the TGP and are doing what you're supposed to do. Maybe I will test the mission later myself. I also got the updated files. Regarding online squad - just ask them. :) So many people are eager to help new guys, especially if they don't have to type a book (which has been typed btw, called manual ahaha, no offense) but can just talk to you directly over VOIP. -
I would love some realism based information on that. I mean - if you know 100% there is NOTHING on the spot that you are firing at besides enemy troops and you DO want that big spread, why not engage from further away? No chance of collateral damage because it's 100% confirmed there is nothing there. No chance of friendly fire because "...". So yeah. Would love some input on that.

That's a lot of work for a mission maker for a tiny tiny part of the players... You should either train copying coordinates fast OR just easy mode - pen and paper next to you when gaming. I do it since arma2 and never regret it. It's so useful to be able to write down stuff... :p -
From 3-4 miles a 10 infantry group is not bigger than the small dot in the pipper itself. How is it supposed to hit anything, if you start putting the pipper all over the place, especially if you HAVE a specific target that you want to hit? Link to Matt's video?

Nah man, if you are targeting your TGP spot which is looking at some soldiers, you should use PAC, otherwise your bullets will go all over the place if you shoot from 4-3 miles, nowhere close to the target.

Of course you can use longer bursts but ... If you got the time and are not familiar with such long range shooting, don't waste the ammo. :p If you get the chance, report back. :) Kinda curious if what works for me also works for you.

Another retarded movie. Everyone is hopping on the zombie train hoping to make a buck. @ Topic - engage from 4 miles out, not kidding. Look for the soldiers in your TGP, it's tough but possible. Then go out to 6 miles, turn around,engage from 4-3 miles, half a second burst. Watch these bullets spread and cover a great area. Also - in bactria you are loaded with explosive gun rounds. Do NOT change your gun ammo at the mission start: 1 - there is a bug that gives you a bugged reticle http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96577 2 - the combat mix ammo has very little explosive rounds. And armor piercing rounds don't do splash damage to infantry. I had no problems finding myself a few grouped targets and engaging them from 3-4 miles gave me a nice area coverage. I agree though that the AI currently behaves very boss-like. They dont give a shit about everything exploding around them, haha.

Yep. Either that or whenever you OPEN a bottle of anything, make sure to roll away like 1-3 feet haha.
