On that note, I just built myself a new PC (Loads missions in 15 seconds, runs DCS world on max settings, 50 fps SO cash.) I waited to switch to DCS world, from BS2 1.1.1.1, because I knew I was going to build this new one. Now that I have DCS world on this one, I wanna import my progress from the GOW in BS2 to continue in DCS world, is that possible? How would I do it?

I think OP is thinking there is a means of having the helicopter automatically initiate the ejection process... which there is none. I believe "automatic" ejection system means once the ejection process is initiated, the rotor blades blowing off, the ceiling coming off, and the rockets launching the pilot to safety (lol) is automatic and requires no further action on the pilot's behalf. I remember reading somewhere a long time ago, that Kamov was boasting you could shoot an AK-47 (7.62 round) anywhere at the KA-50 and not damage it, if you were 100 yards away or farther. Idk if I believe that or not, but interesting food for thought.

+1, I was about to type exactly that Personally I don't care for the A-10 as much, as *what they are designed to do* the KA-50 is far more effective. The only reason the A-10 is still around today, is because of the type of war we're in... *braces himself for A-10 lovers to flame him into oblivion*

It'll take a LONG time to get here since its from Poland, but this is a piece of history you get to own! my patch is going on the back of my cap for my trap and skeet shooting uniform... and when it's done that, it'll go on my flight bag when I get a flying job! There's also a pin floating around on ebay somewhere, But I thought the patch was cooler.

One time I had a missile go *through* my S-8 pod, but not explode. I watched it in slow motion... wish I had saved the track!

As it has been said a million times before, the KA-50 was never made for A2A engagements... ...but thats precisely why I love doing it so much. Have you played the "Republic" campaign for the original 1.02 BS? It has an anti-hind specific mission. REALLY exhilarating. As for my personal advice, about the computers being omniscient, use it to your advantage. They have VERY specific ranges they use their cannon/missiles at. If you can get close enough they'll constantly run from you trying to get to a "minimum" distance to use their cannon. In RL would this happen? course not. Is this cheating? yeah a little. But the way I see it its cheating to get back at the way they cheat by being omniscient. As for the sim vs game debate, I played DOS Comanche before I even learned how to read... and its the reason I'm a pilot in real life now. Don't hate on the games! I love the sims like BS and A10 more than anything, but every now and then people (myself included) wanna just go fast and wantonly blow stuff up (with aircraft that magically hold 250 missiles and don't have limited fuel) :pilotfly: so if you've never played ace combat because you think its beneath you because you invested hours learning BS, well you're missing out friend. You just have to know what to expect when you get into it ;)

To save people the trouble, I edited all the GoW campaign missions. http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/144336/ All 100 Georgian Oil War Campaign missions edited for the following: -2 KA-50's, both client -both army standard camo -2nd player has vhikers and S-8 Kom's -1st player has waypoints -AI Wingman removed -Both helicopters begin started (removed cold starts where applicable) I IN NO WAY CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY OR CREDIT FOR THESE MISSIONS. I merely modified them to be 2 player friendly for those who would like them. So if you're ever lanning with a buddy and need a good random mission, you now have 100 to choose from. Actually flying? yeah the shark is a lot harder. Systems? the KA-50 is like a basic calculator compared to the A-10's systems. Stick with it, I love em both and they both offer a very different and unique combat experience
