I just want any aircraft - heli or fixed wing - with two seats. multiplayer coop in the same aircraft would be killer...

I'd like to see any sort of 2 seat aircraft, especially helicopter. I was flying the mission the other day in the GoW with the BS where you have to escort MI-8's to a command center, and I thought how much easier it would be if I could fly and focus on threat management while someone else worked the weapons. I understand the limitations of developing a sim like that, especially when it comes to single player where you'd need an AI to work the other seat, but I still think it would make for a great online coop experience.

I'd be happy with a jet, chopper, or even airwolf!

I've flown a lot of sim's in my time, and nothing, NOTHING has come close to the level of realism DCS brings. As a real life pilot I relish every clickable switch, learning the engine starts, and the insane level of detail that A-10 and BS have. It will be interesting to see a non modern aircraft with this level of realism. I look forward to it, even if it has no place in a world of SAMs and BVR missiles and whatnot. Just going up and doing an accurately modeled flat spin will be enough for me =) As for the people complaining, I left SimHQ cuz of crap like that. So far these forums have been the best I've ever been on! Can't we all just get along?! ...wont lie though I do REALLY wanna know what the next Jet is...

I appreciate the invite, but I'm looking to fly just me and a friend over LAN through the campaign progressively, is there a way to do that?

I posted a thread about these in the SIMHQ forums a while back too. Practice practice practice. I harass trucks with them for fun. However, if I try using them against something that shoots back I expect to get shot down. attack helicopters are snipers, using rockets often involves breaking some fundamental rules like NEVER overfly your target To not die in a helicopter, don't get shot at to not get shot at don't freaking get shot at etc, etc. As someone on SIMHQ told me though, 1 or 2 kills for an entire pod of rockets is a good deal.

Love the georgian oil war campaign. I was a huge fan of the dynamic campaign in EECH, some people like it some people don't but the georgian oil war is as close to that as DCS gets. My question is, is there a multiplayer version kicking around? or a way to make the player's wingman be pilotable in multi? or a way to even play the campaign progressively in multiplayer? So far what i've been doing is taking the campaign, mission by mission, and injecting a second client KA-50 hovering next to me in every mission... works fine, only problem is now we're just playing random GOW missions with no context. It would be cool to progress (and fail and lose progress) together as a team. So are there any ways to accomplish this...?

What are you calling a "serious" threat? a lot of things I used to consider serious that I would waste a vikhr on can be safely engaged with the cannon... That 2A42 monster is actually the autocannon they have installed on the BMP! Effective range is about 2.2-2.3 miles depending on slant. And thats with automatic, if you fire it manually you can squeeze a little more range out of it too. As for "serious" threats, ZU-23's, MTLBs, and even manpads can be dealt with with the cannon from a safe distance. Even if the manpad manages to get a shot off, at that range (and you see him shoot) you have ample time to take cover and pop flares. Remember, MANPADs are defense weapons by nature and are relatively short ranged. All that being said, save your vikhrs for the serious stuff, like SA series sams, T-72s, etc. Then you won't need to rely on your wingman! Its no secret he's been kinda flakey since day one... Hope this helps!

That's rather callous and disrespectful of him to say that this isn't a hobby or worth that kind of money. A hobby is a hobby, people get just as much enjoyment out of simming, hockey, knitting, fishing, hunting, whatever. People like what they like. Down to your question: if it was completely faithful, yes. I would pay that kind of money. Then again I'm graduating from flight school this may and I view this sort of thing as keeping my stick and rudder skills fresh. ...oh yeah, and its the most fun I've had with any sort of "game" ever. I've all but stopped playing xbox, first person shooters, etc. I dropped 120 on a trackIR, 60 on a saitek X52 and I've been having a blast for almost a year straight now with BS, A10, and FC2. Worth every penny. Then again I look at things this way: not is it cheap or not, but is the *money spent worth what I get* Sure maybe 30 bucks is cheap for headphones but I dont need new headphones. On the other hand, $250 is a lot for a new cell phone, but considering how much I use that cell phone its worth all of that and then some. Follow my logic?

I couldn't find it either, so what I ended up doing was just doing a windows search for the name of the sound file, RotorKA50 or something like that, and right clicked then left clicked "open file location" copy and pasted into that folder, overwriting the old files. Did a cold start with the door open just to hear em spin up. LOVE IT!

Really cool! Yeah I find using rockets result in me getting killed or shot around like.... oh, probably 70-90% of the time. Getting close enough to use them means getting close enough for everything that preys on werewolves to get you! Also, RIP. I'm sure if you hadn't of landed in the stream, the enemy troops wouldn't of been too happy to see you! "it is generally inadvisable to eject over the area in which you have just attacked" ;) Once again bravo with the screens, though!

Will this work for all units though? Labels were on but just the labels for the HQ were missing...
